  1. I’ve been tinkering with my new MPX and was curious if others consciously work towards a specific center of balance.

I am able to adjust, pretty substantially, where the rifle starts to tip backwards by adjusting where the optic is mounted.

Ive settled basically as close to the center of the magwell as I can with both fully loaded magazine and empty magazine. It does feel different when doing reload drills where the weight is balanced.

I haven’t gotten a chance to really see how dot movement is impacted though.

Any specific thoughts on this? Have any of you played with center of gravity and what have you found?

  2. I feel like this is one of those situations where having a red dot mounted is really helpful to see exactly what the rest of the pistol is doing the WHOLE time. My dry firing has improved greatly since committing to the optic. Now I KNOW how much movement relative to my target I get.

and before the “don’t watch the dot” crowd chimes in, it’s all seen in peripheral vision.

  3. Romeo 1 and DPP are almost identical in footprint and bolt spacing. From the rear edge, they are identical and the R1 is shorter in the front distance by about 1/8”.

The real difference is the Romeo1 is sized for 6-48 thread screws and the DPP is M4. In order to use traditional M4 threaded hardware, you need to open up the mounting holes in the R1 by just a hair and get small head diameter socket head cap screws. The only place I could find them was here: https://www.nbk1560.com/en-US/products/specialscrew/nedzicom/lowsmallheadscrew/SNS-SD/SNS-M4-SD/SNS-M4-8-SD/

and it took them FOR EVER to ship.

    it worked perfectly though.

  4. Im really torn between my BullShadow2 and my CO Shadow2. The Shadow2 Frame fits my hand and grip style better than the traditional CZ75 frames. The CO Shadow2 has the “kitchen sink” done to it, so it’s a lighter weight pull but the CZC trigger work on the BS2 is just so butter smooth.

  5. Ugh,

im having a “shouldn’t be buying this and have no real reason to but I’m probably gonna” moment right now...

ive been planning on using the Holosun 510C with Red LED. Got it for a pretty good price but Optics Planet has a good deal on the Green version with a discount code. Ive never used a Green LED optic before but when comparing red and green Fiber Optics in front sights, the green absolutely pops better for me.

id hate to be into 2 510Cs for ~500 total to just end up keeping both but I really can’t decice which I like better without trying or even playing with both.

anyone have anything good or bad to say about Green vs Red LED Optics specifically?

I mounted my Railway on an ADM quick release mount. This gives enough room under the rear of it to mount a JP offset mount with an RTS2 on it. Works great. 175a830a2e3059dbfb99d11929cdf43d.jpgd97b8b90568cf71408ac29a588389e3b.jpg

Maybe I’m missing something but what’s the benefit of running this setup??

  7. Do you have an optic in mind? If you aren’t going to be switching sights around, you can do just a normal optic cut and get the dot as low as possible.

    just my opinion.

been shooting 4-6 local matches a year for the past 2 years but really spending a lot of time lately on the dryfire fundamentals and it FEELS like I’m making progress. Hoping to get into the A class by end of this season. I’m shooting a full classifier event today so this could either really help or really hurt....

im also going to try out PCC by the end of the year.

not much interest in the Limited classes and I don’t have the funds for an Open gun.

  9. I’ve been using various forms of grip and forearm strengthening tools for a while now. I started with the traditional “crush” type, moved to the “crush” but individual fingers (which I feel has helped balance the strength of the smaller digits).

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KH3L7KC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3C2pBb5A9QNQP

I then found these finger extensor bands that, after working with progressive resistance training for other areas, has been GREAT at really bringing definition of my forearms. They’re very dynamic and you can adjust them to train exactly what you want and again, keep a balanced strength hand.

Finally I grabbed this interesting gyroscopic strength trainer. I was skeptical at first and it took a LOT of getting the correct motion down, but MAN does this thing pump the blood through the entire forearm! I can physically see he muscles inflating with blood flow and left-to-right coordination has been much better than before. Still not perfectly balanced but it’s progress.

I’ve also been trying to utilize these just prior to and during dry fire practice. It makes me feel like I grip the pistol better and more consistently.

Do any of you guys use any cool tools to help with grip strength and overall strength balance? It took me a LONG time of limited results in exercising that no matter how much you work an area, if the supporting areas aren’t equally as developed you’ll get NOWHERE.

Please weigh.. I will be curious as I dont know what Hennings grips weigh in at.

Henning grips weigh 53g with hardware while the stock grips weigh 60g with hardware. Essentially a .25oz weight savings.

the SSI Scales 2.0 CZ75 weigh 42g according to their website and the SSI Scales 2.0 Tactical Sport versions weigh 34g. The TS version doesn’t go to the bottom of the frame and are a tad narrower than the typical width.

I am also debating between the red and green HS510c, so I may not be so much help in your decision, but wanted to ask if you saw any good deals on either one.  I have been watching the usual places but have not come across a deal yet.

I just grabbed a red version off GrabAGun “GrabAQuote” option for $240 shipped.

  12. Accushadow != Accushadow Match.

i replied on your thread on another forum but I’ll repost it here also.

If you’re planning on shooting CO with it, I’m not sure it’d be fully legal but I’m not 100% positive. CO rules specifically say the starting model needs to be on the production list. I’m not sure if it can be justified that it was an Accushadow to start, with an upgraded barrel etc.

It looks like a nice option though!

In my experience, you almost never get the cost of milling back (~250-300ish) and rarely the full optic value. But in all reality, the value is only what someone’s willing to pay for it. If it’s exactly what you would build, including the optic and all, and you save the machining time, it’s really up to you.

  13. Have you considered Steadfast Holsters? He works off his Facebook page but I really like the work he does. I’ve had a RHT for 3 different pistols and they’re fine but I think the fit and finish of the Steadfast is just better.

this is the holster he made me

Stand up straight and relaxed with your arms hanging normally at your side. Bend over so your torso is parallel with the ground and allow your arms to hang down naturally so they are perpendicular to the ground. Now move both hands together into a grip position - without moving your arms or grip - stand up into your shooting position.

Followed this and it feels perfectly natural. Thanks for the method!
