But you're only getting 20 in?

My TTI +4's are coming in at 3.87 on one scale and 3.90 on another. I think I'd like to chase 0.50 elsewhere for the extra two rounds, I think.

On another note,  I did a little searching and came up empty. Has anyone started a list of common part weights? Does anyone think that would be helpful?

No, with the CZC follower and spring I’m getting 23 in. I had to take half a coil off but it feeds reliably so far.

  2. I snagged the PCC takeoff on here last week and am super happy with it. I had the Taccom CF tube and it was nice but the oval shape of the PCC one just fits better IMO.

i really like how close the HG sits to the bottom of the barrel. Weight distribution feels good too. Cuts provide some really nice texture to sink your hand flesh into.

  3. I just picked up a set of nickel mags at a great price. Love how they look but haven’t had a chance to put rounds thru them yet.

i also had a set of MecGars with the matte AFC coating that wore off the contact points pretty quickly. I’m not sure it made much of a difference in total though.

is there a consensus on if the nickel bodies are ACTUALLY better than the AFC coated ones?

If you had to pick one between the two, what gives a smoother trigger pull? Consider you could buy as many as you want

First, this thread is over 2 years old.

second, TRS has such little impact on smoothness it’s negligable. So many other things affect smoothness more.

  5. Whichever you decide, decide early and commit to that.

what I mean by that is, you could either stick with a normal S2 and have it built comfortably to CO specifications or go AccuS2 and have all the bells and whistles.

Some quick napkin math looks like-

S2 with minimal trigger component upgrades and the RDS cut could run you $1500 or so if you’re buying new. Think about the other things you may want to do down the road and take that into account also.

AccuS2 is in the $2000 range base plus the RDS cut (and you lose the value of the fully adjustable rear sight) so call it $2250 but that includes the bushing and trigger work.

if you value the trigger work, bushing and other bits at or above the difference in price AND you have the scratch to swing it, why not go AccuS2!

Either way, it’s a great platform to build from.

I personally bought a spare S2 upper from a forum, had it cut aggressively for the DPP, put a CGW 10x bushing and shaved weight from everywhere I could without having to do additional milling to the  slide. Since this picture I’ve shaved a bit more here and there but I’m at about max weight reduction without chucking it back into a milling machine.

  6. I also did the magwell research trek and also was under the understanding that it did not need shortened grips for MOST styles. I believe some of the fatter grips might need to be shaved down just a hair but surely not to the extent of typical magwells.

FWIW, I ended up going with the Cesar Shop magwell and cut down a pair of Henning grips that I got for a good price used. Really happy with it, too bad I can’t use it in CO like this.

  7. Ive been in the market for a timer lately and thought that I would be able to save a bit on buying used. It became clear that not many people liquidate timers and when they do, its at a price close to new and they go quick.

MidwayUSA has a CED7000 for 119+Shipping and I found and old discount code for $15 off so essentially $110 shipped for a new CED7000.

Obviously, ill probably spring for the belt clip and maybe even a spare battery just in case.

Is there another deal out there that beats this? I haven't been able to find a new one for much less.

I know several guys who run them because pcc is what they do in the off season and don't dry fire them much.  For them it really helps with the beercan grip on classifieds and such.  I think if you dry fired with it regularly it would be less necessary

All that being said, I couldn’t pass up 30% off TTI and picked up a magwell and extension. There’s nothing wrong with buying parts cuz you like them.

Also do any of the long term owners out there think the magwell is worth is?

I’ve went back and forth with the idea of a magwell on a PCC and with how often reloads happen and how much you think you’ll save yourself on average per reload, it is more of a “looks cool” part than anything.

    just my opinion.

Pretty confident it won’t make 45oz CO weight with most, if any, MRDS.

I only have experience with Cajun’s RRK, and it is a set screw that basically takes up the slack. At least when I was shooting CZ it wasn’t that much take up for me, and I took it off.

    That’s wholly inaccurate.

the Cajun RRK, while it does have a set screw to limit the forward travel, does move the position of the trigger about 5mm toward the grip.

I've hard time following all CO new rules. I presume it is CO legal because small parts change is OK now?

To the point of the original discussion, it seems to me that the CZC extension is slightly lighter than Henning. I don't have a TTI one.

My Shadow 2 rod + mag, with a DPP directly milled into it by Primary, with several slide lightening cuts, plastic guide rod, and fat Lok grips (0.6 oz) is currently at 45.3 oz. I am a bit reluctant to remove the shroud. Next step likely the scales, I need volume to my grips, flat Lok or Henning grips not enough. May have to have dust cover milled out.

It’s an OEM part replacing the stock slide stop. In my interpretation of the rules it’s good to go. I’ve not gotten challenged on it and if I do I believe I have a good case.

What information from here makes you think the CZC is lighter than Henning? If you mean the CZ 18 round tubes and a +2 basepad you’re looking at a whole new set of mags as opposed to just a CZC +4 basepad

  12. Not what you wanna hear, but CZ 18round mags and +2 basepads will be about a half oz lighter than the MG17+Henning pads. If I had known this earlier, I would have gone this route. And still might to be honest.

but it’s surely doable if you’re willing to make it work. I designed this optic cut a bit differently, as deep as I was able to go without breaking through the FP channel. CGW internals and RRK trigger. NO additional slide cuts or milling anywhere.
