  1. Is that one of those "Yacqui" style holsters that are mentioned several times in the rule book?
  2. Hey, just wanted to say that this worked PERFECTLY. No malfunctions during the entire match!
  3. I'll give this a try, as well as Weapon Shield that someone upthread mentioned
  4. Very rarely will you have to shoot single shots in USPSA. It's even more rare that you'll shot single, well-aimed shots. With that in mind, shoot doubles at varying yards. Try them at 5, 10, and 15 yards. Really pay attention to how long it takes the sights to settle back in the 'A' zone at those distances, and use that to learn when to break the second shot. At 5 yards you probably can just hammer away at it quickly, but at 10 and 15 yards you may need to let the sights settle a bit more before firing again. Or, if your grip control is very good you might not.
  5. I use SWMP, which doesn't seem to be temp sensitive according to discussions I've seen here. But it also happened when I was loading 3N38 for 38 super
  6. This issue has been a constant thorn in my side for a long time. Essentially, when I go to a match where the weather might be a little chilly (not even that cold, like 30-40) my open guns experience a higher rate of malfunctions. However, as the day goes on and either the weather warms up, or the gun itself gets hotter with use, those malfunctions seem to all-but-vanish. The same thing happens at indoor ranges, which pretty much confirmed my thinking that cold weather is affecting some part of my guns' functioning. Now, I've been using Slip 2000 as a general purpose lubricant for years and it worked perfectly fine on my regular production pistols, but I suspect that it may be slowing down functioning just enough to induce a malfunction. The thing is that I have no real evidence to support this, and Slip 2000 is apparently rated for very low temperatures so that doesn't support my above assertion. Am I overlooking something? Is there something about moderately cold weather that just causes open guns to seize up like fainting goats? Am I using the wrong lube for the climate? Could it be something else entirely? I should note that this happened across three different guns, shooting 38 super and 9mm major.
  7. Long story short: a few months ago I bent the rear sight blade on my TRR8, and have been trying to find a replacement. I've looked around the internet and for the life of me I cannot find what kind of rear sight blade the old TRR8 uses! S&W's site says that the TRR8 uses an "adjustable V-notch" site, which mine definitely does not have. I purchased mine in 2008 or so, so it's most definitely an older model, but you would think that it would be listed SOMEWHERE, right? Does anyone know?
  8. I have the Super Ghost Ultimate holster (that's a lot of superlatives right there) and it's extraordinarily adjustable. I'm able to fit my N-frame smith in there as well as an X frame. Though the X-frame is a little snug, as you can imagine. If the Evo is anything like that, you should be able to adjust the little polymer screws and spacers to accommodate just about any revolver, I would imagine.
  9. Just started using the Romeo3XL on my latest gun, and I'm already liking it a lot. Recently I was on a range where the sun was right behind the berm during a morning shoot. Everyone else was complaining about their dots washing out, but the XL was super bright even in direct glare. It was pretty awesome!
  10. Is the spacing of the holes on the Tevo mount the same as the Double Tap mount?
  11. Went back and assembled it according to some of the videos on the PT YouTube page and it feels more normal now
  12. Well, I got the Honcho in and got it sighted in today. It ran extraordinarily well and is super accurate. I did have one quick question: after firing, I took it apart for the first time to get used to the process, as well as understand the locking block system and put some lube on it. After re-assembly, the slide became very stiff. Like, it would stick at the very back when I tried to cycle it. I took it apart again, slathered on more lube, and put it back together. While it loosened up a bit, it was still pretty stiff. Any idea what could be causing this? Are there points that you would lube on a honcho that you wouldn't on a normal 2011?
  13. Why not do Boxing? It satisfies all of your criteria AND you can be as competitive or as casual as you want.
  14. I see two different types of mag springs for MBX 2011 mags: a 13 coil spring for 170mm mags, and 13 coil for 155mm mags. They have two different SKUs. However, it seems like every other site just has 13 coil springs for 170/155mm springs. Is there really an appreciable difference between the two different type of 13 coil springs?
  15. Well fellas, looks like I'm going to join the Honcho owner association soon. I skipped the line and picked up @Shmella's blaster because it was just too good to pass up! Now I literally cannot wait until it arrives.
  16. Lol I almost got done checking out before the site crashed
  17. I removed mine recently because I found that I was cranking down on it with my thumb and it was causing followup shots to dip. Obviously that's just a technique problem, but since removing it I've found that I don't really miss it.
  18. Ah crap! I knew that I should’ve liked the FB page!
  19. I’ve been looking hard at getting a Honcho for the past year or so, but all of these shipping issues are making me think twice about it. Would it still be worth it to pick up a Honcho during one of the upcoming sale events?
  20. I seem to be having this exact same issue. I'm going to try some of the fixes in this thread.
  21. Hey all. I'm looking to put together a spare parts kit for my 2011 to take to matches, particularly majors. I don't really have enough to get a second gun built, or really even a second slide. So what I'm looking to find out are what are parts on a 2011 that commonly break, and don't require fitting to replace? Springs are a no-brainer, and perhaps a firing pin, but do slide stops require fitting? Barrel links? Etc?
  22. What do you use for an optic and mount?
  23. You built that yourself, Nic? Doesn't look too bad!
