  1. Long story short, I had the bolts shear and the gas key was lost. Does anyone know where to get a replacment? Thanks!
  2. Has anyone been able to get the Strike Industries +5 baseplates to work with the Taylor Freelance mag well for the SFX? If so could you possibly post a picture of it for me? Thanks!
  3. My Canik SFX with the Wasatch comp and my handloads is super flat shooting. I don't have to meet any power factor either.
  4. The load I shoot the most is a Hi-Tek coated 200 gr SWC from a Lyman 452360 mold, over 3.7 gr Clays. It's a complete mouse fart load. My favorite 230 gr RN bullet is the Lyman 452374, or the RCBS 225 gr RN. Both of these bullets have a more tapered ogive which I've found helps in feeding. I have a 230 gr WFN mold from Arsenal molds. I load that one with 10.7 gr Accurate #7 for use in my .45 ACP SBRs. With a 10.5" barrel it's hitting 1030 fps. It's not a pleasant load in a 1911. 5.7 gr Win 572 with either the 225 or 230 gr bullet is a hardball equivalent.
  5. This makes me laugh. I'm betting he's never measured his bullets. There's NO shooter on earth that could tell the difference in a 9mm, .40 S&W, or 45 ACP with a variation of 0.008" in bullet seating depth. Just because you can measure something doesn't mean it's something to be concerned about.
  6. I'm getting setup to load 450 BM on my 650. Does anyone have a list of the parts in the caliber conversion kit? I'm already loading for lots of other cartridges and I probably have everything I need. Thanks!
  7. I had a wild hair a couple of weeks ago and checked the big auction site to see if any RF-100s were available. Lo and behold there was a new one with the large primer conversion. I bid, I won, it arrive. SNAP...this thing is a LOT heavier than I expected. It's also taller than I thought it would be. Now I have to clean off and rearrange my loading bench to get this monster on the bench.
  8. Is the right priming system installed? Using the large primer stuff with small primers can cause them to flip.
  9. I see a major mistake here. No one bothered to check the bore. I know you're all "experienced shooters", but you all forgot to inspect the bore.
  10. CDNN has had 9mm and 40 Short and Weak mags.
  11. I've had one on my XDM 45 and have a couple thousand rounds through it with no problems.
  12. Ya do realize that the heat required for PC negates any hardness added by water dropping?
  13. You're not supposed to huff it. When using One Shot I just leave it on. If using a lanolin based lube I give them a quick trip in the vibratory tumbler.
  14. 4% tin is a waste of valuable tin. I use a 96/2/2 alloy for all my 9mm and 45 ACP needs. I use Hi-Tek to coat and it works great. I also size to .357 for 9mm. I'm not a big shooter, I only cast, loaded and shot around 30K of 9mm last year.
  15. If bare aluminum is exposed to air it forms a protective layer of aluminum oxide in seconds. Basic chemistry 101. If you're seeing black pits on aluminum cases it's not due to corrosion.
  16. Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.
  17. Dillion has always had the option to require you to send broken parts back to them. They really do this on high value, low breakage parts. I've had a couple of powder measures base parts crack. The first one they wanted me to send it back. The second they just sent out the parts.
  18. I've used thousands of Winchester primers. Never had a problem. Between my shooting partner and I we loaded almost 50K last year with Winchester primers. No problems at all. I'd suspect some kind of contamination on your end.
  19. Almost all US .mil ammo comes from the Lake City plant. Commercial plants like Federal and such don't have many .mil contracts. Hazmat is 48 lbs. I'm not sure where you're getting your info.

  21. I filled out the contact form last Sunday. I received a reply on Tuesday.
  22. There's enough difference in case and bullet weights to make this suggestion nothing more than mental masturbation.
