  1. I’ve been having the same thoughts on loading to minor for steel and 3gun. Using the same setup an dropping to a 155 bullet sound great. How hoes the recoil seem. I shoot an edge loaded to major with 180 Blue Buttets and WST.
  2. Just bought a 650 with casefeeder. Kept my 550 for lower production stuff. Very happy.
  3. Spot on! In High School back in the 70’s I ran the mile in track. My breakthrough to turn in times under 4:30 occurred when my coach changed my mindset from running a mile to running 4 individual laps. I trained to know how a 65 second lap felt and could then focus on my goals and not trying to run the whole race every lap.
  4. I shoot a Brazos Tuned Edge. It’s way better than me and never misses a beat.
  5. Good point. I mainly shoot limited. I have a distinct advantage in that I squad with an Opthamologist.
  6. Could be a bunch of things. I wear bifocals, and i’m Cross-dominant. Leafs eye dominant and shoot right handed. My vision is not horrible, 20/80 or so. My right lense is set to correct at My pistol front sight. My left is my normal distance prescription. I put a translucent sticker on my left lense to block my front sight. This gives me a great sight picture withou my dominant eye messing things up. Target is a bit blury, but it should be if you are focused on sight picture. I used to shoot with astigmatism correcting contacts. I didn’t like them. The orientation of the lenses on your eyes is critical and if they move around they could cause what you are seeing.
  7. If you are looking to wash out white steel you may want to look at a light smoke or grey.
  8. I’ve shot a lot of skeet and Sporting Clays over the years. Glass color is mostly about target and background contrast and controlling light, or in other words the glass color is used to help with target acquisition in varying light condition. Bust advice is to try different colors on a ranger you shoot at and then buy glasses with interchangeable lenses an an assortment of the colors you may need. Remember you will face an overcast morning, high sun at noon and even direct sun in the face. In Sporting Clays I carried 3 sets and would have carried more but prescription lenses are pricey.
  9. I use the 510c on my Ruger PC9 in PCC. I’m 61 with Astigmatism. Without my prescription glasses the dot is messed up. Glasses bring it to crystal clear. Donyou wear prescription glasses?
  10. Just bought a new 650 with case feeder. Assembled it turned it on...nothing. Called Dillon. Checked microswitch...working fine. Removed motor armature... very slight oxidation on shaft onset bushing. Cleaned it up, light oil...working fine. Scott F. at Dillon was very helpful.
  11. Just got my FA wet tumbler. First batch decapped.40 S&W, pins the solution that came with tumbler and lemishine. Tumbled 1 hour. Cases clean and shiny inside and out primer pockets clean. Pins were a pita! Second batch Tablespoon of Simple Green concentrate, lemishine and no pins. Simple Green recommended to me because of less suds. Results were just as good as batch wit pins. Primer pockets not quite as clean. No more pins for me.
  12. Thanks for the info. Setting up my first 650 this weekend. I finally got tired of manual feeding and advancing on the 550. It’s now dedicated to my lower volume loading.
  13. Picked up machine today. I’ll check out the mod. Thanks.
  14. I’ve loaded Wolf, CCI, Winchester, Federal and Federal Match on my 550 for years without a jam. I have a 650 on the way. Is there any difference in the primer feed tube?
  15. Just ordered a wet tumbler. When you use brass juice do you include some detergent?
  16. I had the same problem about a month ago during a classifier stage. Went back to stock setup. Time to get the files out and modify my thumb rest, which I really liked. I find it give a great reference for grip.
  17. That explains a lot for my classifier scores. I just started shooting again in February after many years off. I always shoot in the B/C range during the matches, but consistently hit D or low C on classifier stages. Time to shift dry fire focus to the draw.
  18. Just ordered one. This will really simplify what’s in the shooting bag.
  19. Gets more interesting if you are cross dominant. I shoot right handed wit left eye dominant. Decot made me a set of standard bifocal for sporting clays. I use translucent tape on left lense to blur the shotgun bead so all I see is the sharp one on my right eye, and a crisp target. For pistol I keep the same lense on the left and shift to a single vision on the right, focused on front sight. Left lense still still taped (just enough area to mask front sight.) I tried using non prescription gasses. Fine for close targets, but without astigmatism correction, targets were very distorted for longer shots. Decot is very good at setting these up.
