  1. 650 has been great! Essentially got way ahead on .40. Liked it so much I am ordering conversion for 9mm.

  3. I’ll work on it. My first try with pics. It was a great conversion since the house had another dedicated laundry room we essentially had an over sized closet with cabinets. Now I have a 550 and a 650 set up with room to spare, and it’s not in the garage.
  4. Not sure picture worked, but this used to be a laundry closet. 5. You can get a gallon of simple green concentrate at Lowe’s for about $9. I use about an ounce or so. Actually use an old shot glass to keep it kind of consistent.
  6. Thanks. Did that and came to same conclisuion. I’ll go for fit.
  7. We have a couple of regular revolver shooters in our area. If I jump into the 8 shot world is there a preference of 627 vs 929. I already reload 38 and 9mm. Don’t mind moving to 38sc. Not trying to hijack thread, I’m just wondering if it’s more than preference.
  8. Look at the feed lips on the mag and make sure the haven’t expanded.
  9. At 7-10 yards sight alignment should be your natural index position. That will get the job done. Bigger issue is trigger control. When I joined the Navy in 1976 aNavy Master Chief taught me that pistol shooting boils down to two fundamental issues. Sight alignment and trigger control. There are a bunch of training books and videos out there now, but they are just techniques to achieve sight alignment and trigger control.
  10. Been reading this topic with great interest, and I feel we are missing a critical issue, that if not addressed will ultimately see revolver die. The growth you see in IDPA and USPSA can be attributed to production rules that allow a new person to enter. USPSA is not revolver friendly to the new shooter. I sometimes shoot IDPA with a S&W 64 that has mean tuned for IDPA. Shooting that gun on a 28 round non revolver friendly stage would suck. The RO would probably wonder if I would ever finish. Point is that to enjoy revolver you need to shoot an 8 shot pistol, or that low entry cost plastic gun will win every new shooter. The final conclusion is that if we non’t make it easy and cost efficient for new shooters you won’t solve the problem.
  11. The main thing hasn’t changed. It’s all about sight alignment and trigger control. The rest is all technique. Your main goal when stating needs to be safety.
  12. 63, cloudy, chance of rain in New Orleans...who cares...where’s my dink! It’s Mardi Gras!
  13. Great lesson here. Thanks for sharing.
  14. We use then and I’ve never had a reason to complain. I fing that hitting the protector is fairly obvious. Not the same ring.
  15. Never shot SASS, but researched and bought a customized rifle for it. These guys are very particular in how they set up their guns. I would check prices on parts and the shop the gun as is on one of their forums. Let the cost results drive your decision.
  16. It’s in my plane te eventually get An 8 shot gun for USPSA. Shot a 6 shot S&W in IDPA. Currently though my time and money is in Limiter.
  17. I’m certainly no expert, but I would watch the 180 on your reloads. It’s hard to tell on the video, but it looks like your muzzle is pushing 180.
  18. I just bought a new 650, but watched this forum’s classifieds and saw 1050s come up from time to time.
  19. Almost a tear ago. Goal was finish safe. Slow but reasonably accurate...very slow. 58 out of 62. Hooked.
  20. New to wet tumbling, but after one use I stopped using pins. I use Simple Green and lemishine. Tumble abou 90-120 minutes. I just do pistol and they are fine for my purpose.
  21. Thanks. I’ll reach out when I get home.
