  1. I know some top shooters wear cricket shoes. They have metal spikes on the bottom and work great on dirt/soft ground. Not so much for loose/fine gravels. I don't think these have 2E models. Below is the New Balance CK10 R5 model.
  2. New Balance makes 2E width cleats. Check out the fresh foam 3000 V6. Very comfortable for wide feet. It does not, however, prevent sliding on fine gravels/pebbles on top of hard surface, such as the ground at CMP. Inov8 makes 8mm soft lug trail running shoes, and if you choose the correct "profile" that fits wide feet, they are very comfortable with great traction on most surfaces. For example, Inov-8 X-Talon Ultra 260. The downside is the lugs wear out very quickly especially on gravel surface. I'd say these are comparable to Salomon in terms of tracking, but the fit is much wider. I know Salomon now makes 2E models but they are not wide at all. I had to return 2 pairs because they are narrower than regular width Inov8 profiles. Lastly, try 2E models with Asics (Venture series) and Brooks (Cascadia series). They have 4-5mm lugs, not as aggressive as Inov8 or Salomon but very very comfortable.
  3. I prefer the new slides (stroked) in terms of felt recoil. I agree with the above comments - it boils down to personal preference, similar to that of 147gr vs. 124gr.
  4. Thanks for the follow-up. My source was obviously overconfident in passing this in the general assembly.
  5. If major does not make sense, I have faith that IPSC will promptly remove it, just like they did with PDOL.
  6. I heard IPSC has just added "Standard Optics" as a provisional division, with both major and minor scoring. The trial starts next year in all matches around the world.
  7. What's wrong with having just 1 national a year, like in the old days? Is it the number of shooter limitation? How many unique bodies shot all the 2022 nationals? 700? 1000? I am sure there is a way to fit all those unique bodies into a single national across multiple divisions.
  8. You should try Patriot Defense grips. They are super nice. I have always used the SSI scale grips until this year. Because I have super short fingers, I kept the right side panel thin, but I use the palm swell panel on the left. That way, my short finger still can reach DA. At the meantime, the tips of non trigger fingers no longer get crushed under left palm because now my left hand has plenty of space to contact. I used to have chronically swollen and painful right hand finger tips for the 3 non trigger fingers, because they got crushed under my left palm all the time. Now with the palm swell left panel, they have returned to normal. These panels are the most grippy panels I have used. Super aggressive. If your hands bleed, I suggest you take a sandpaper to smooth out some parts of the panel to make them less aggressive. https://patriotdefense.com/patriot-defense-tanfoglio-aggressive-grip-panel-mix-match-large-frame/
  9. What is preventing "IPSC USA" from existing? Are there bylaws/contracts between IPSC and USPSA that mandates no separate "IPSC USA" can exist outside of USPSA?
  10. Has anyone's 507 comp passed 20k round mark without any issues, especially on a Shadow 2? Looking for some data to gauge reliability.
  11. I know my gun + gear is 100% IPSC legal as long as I move the magnet to be behind hip bone. Even my 140mm mags are legal as long as I just load 15 in them. If I switch to 2011 platform for the "new CO" division, however, that would be a totally different story.
  12. I think 2011 will become mainstream if LO is added to CO. I know I would switch to 2011 if LO becomes CO. The 2-5% gain by spending more money is worth it. It also creates a huge discrepancy between USPSA CO and IPSC Production Optics.
  13. Are dots far superior than irons for a typical USPSA major match, if the mags have the same cap? If we ask Nils, Ben or Mason shoot the same area match using 140mm mags in 9mm minor, once using CO and once using production gun, how much score difference will there be? 3%? 5%? 10%? I have set up small stages in 25yard bays and practices above scenarios, and found that the scores are not far apart at all. I am in the camp of high-cap mags are the deterministic factor, not the aiming device, at least for a typical USPSA major match. Sure, some scenarios the dots will be so much easier but those are by no means common in USPSA. For non pro shooters, some great iron shooters shoot dots way slower than irons due to the fact that they tend to stare at the dot as the dot just draws so much attention.
  14. Mass produced guns are different than custom handmade guns. Among the mass produced guns, trigger and weight do matter, probably equally important, but what really sets each other apart is aftermarket support. People shooting mass produced guns cannot help wanting to "enhance" theirs by swapping in parts to fit their hands/preferences better. At some point, it can get close to custom handmade guns. There was precedence of creating divisions by weights, e.g. "Production Optics Light" that IPSC just killed. IMO the old 45oz rule is pretty balanced for Production/CO. It's funny someone who shoots a Shadow 2 with brass everything picked up my Stock 2 at the nationals and was shocked how light it is. Mine weighs 43.x oz with an empty 140mm mag. I guess people really pushed towards the 59oz limit and the general public assumes every single metal gun weighs 55+oz.
  15. Would love to hear someone do a 20k review on this dot. If it lasts, it will be a winner.
  16. If this is really what people think, I wonder why there has been no survey of changing CO to 15 round. That would go nicely with Prod 15, and provide more space for LO to grow.
  17. Neither this nor the last surveys about Production capacity has the 140mm option. I wonder why.
  18. I have 2 Stock 2s and I have replaced TRS probably dozens of times. I use both PD and CGW TRS and like PD ones better. Never had this problem. One thing I do use on all my guns is the CGW CZ floating trigger pin. https://cajungunworks.com/product/floating-trigger-pin/ It's possible the way you install the trigger pin (or your trigger pin itself) is hitting/bending the TRS in some way. Try the floating trigger pin see if it helps.
  19. I believe this is still true even if they make a 140mm iron minor division today. Many people are saying iron divisions are dead. I don't agree. There is simply not a single high cap iron minor division. Optics now have 2 high cap minor divisions. Why the discrepancy? Maybe it depends on who is more vocal in asking for new divisions.
  20. Good to see LO is doing well early on. Follow the top-down approach everyone is using for driving competitors to a specific division: The top CO competitors are mostly pro shooters. What incentives do they have to ditch CO to compete in LO? If they don't switch, I don't see how large percentage of current competition in CO will shift to LO. I am referring to area and national matches where you get to pick only 1 division. Besides, CO qualifies for IPSC world shoot while LO does not. For pro shooters, that is a key driver. I suspect the most likely route to bring in more competition to LO is the Open/Limited pro shooters switch from Open/Limited to LO. We should see in few years.
  21. It's interesting to see how LO created so much opposing opinions. I contribute all these to the lack of a 140mm iron minor division. If that division were to exist, CO won't be as big as it is today, and LO really is just part of CO.
  22. Thanks. The pass through sleeve is perfectly fine. I feel the length of this screw is a bit too long if everything need to be just right. If I just hand tight it to the lock nut, things are way too lose. the bellcrank cube will fall out after some cycles.
  23. I kept getting black powder piling up as I use the XL650. Every 30-40k, I will find the 13904 - Bellcrank screw grinded down and I have to replace it. Should this screw be tightened up all the way, or should it not protrude the lock nut on the other side? If I let it not protrude the lock nut on the other side, the little white plastic square (bellcrank cube) will sometimes not be engaged and fall off (see pics). So I always tighten up the screw, which always end up sticking out of the lock nut a little bit. How much do you tighten up this screw? Has anyone else had this black power droppings from this screw over time?
  24. I used something very similar to one of the products posted. It's a 480P backup camera. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074P45P7G?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details Because I display on an 17'' LCD monitor, everything is very blurry. In particular, I am hoping I can see how much power spill on the shell plate, which is not possible with the current resolution.
  25. As seen in the pictures, this particular spring is breaking too often for me recently, only 2k rounds intervals. I used to run those for over a year with many thousands of rounds before it was broken. The new replacement springs from Dillon appear to be the same as before. I wonder if I installed them incorrectly? Looking at the up position now, the primer index arm is in a canted angle, and the spring is folding inside the spring hole, which I don't recall like this before. Is this normal? Granted I never paid much attention to this part that much before. Is this how everyone else's 650 priming system work as well?
