The RIA hi cap 1911 is very nice gun. I love it. But it does need a lot of work to make it as good as a 2011 with steel grip. It can get to that level, but it is not easy, and not cheap either. So in the end, you may not save much comparing to go with Prodigy + steel grip route. And the Pra style double stack 1911 just doesn't have as many options for parts (talking about Para specific parts such as trigger, extended mag release, mag, mag well, etc. ), surely many other parts share the same standard of 1911/2011, which is good. I'd say it is not worth it to go with RIA, since you may end up change most of the factory parts to something better unless you enjoy doing so. If I would start over with a new build, I would build a 2011 gun.

the slide has to be wider to fit RMR mount. Otherwise the screw holes will be outside.

Sounds like an option. Just keep in mind that there is no such gun for major pf for sell yet, and even there will be, the major pf could make any red dot on slide so easy to break and turn into maintenance nightmare.

Both are good shooters with good price too. SFX is more accurate out of box. Weight is a big different. And red dot support is a plus if that's what you want.

Does anyone try to contact SIG and see if they can replace the existing legion slide with a new one with RMR holes? Would be great if that's possible. This looks like a nice improvement to install SRO. But I can't justify the price to buy a new slide just for that.

The upper side bar of legion trigger is shorter than standard p320, it gives extra leverage to press the trigger. It is a copy of grayguns trigger design.

you never know if you are going to stick with one brand of red dot. So mos is much more convenient.

go for it, barrel is cheaper than buy another gun

don't use striker spring that is too light, make a good platform not reliable anymore. Test the limit, and back off a little.
