  1. Yeah I agree totally as far as price goes. I’m more curious about the mechanical reasons behind the variance. I’ll have to burn through this last batch. So I’ll do the new brass next year for LII.
  2. Understood. I’ll look around more. Seems like the steel would displace the copper/lead of the projectile. Smush it, if you will. I’ve got a few K of the same brass still on the side. I’ve saved that for Match ammo so I’m going through the last of my pickups for practice ammo.
  3. My current set up is a Dillon 650 (newer model) with hornady seating die with micrometer seating adjustment. I’m loading HPs so I use the flat seating head (vs the convex for RN). I notice a variance of about 5 thou. In other words if I set it to coal of 1.120 I get readings from loaded bullets between 1.118-1.123. Full disclosure i have have been using mixed brass (none that have the ‘shelf’) but I wouldn’t think that would matter since the distance between the shell plate and bottom of flat seating head should be the same on each stroke. Is is there something I’m missing or Am I achieving a normal coal variance for this machine? Is the mixed brass really the cause? thanks!
  4. Thanks for the response. I guess it really just depends on if you’re holding your head right. ?
  5. I can relate. I bought a used STI. Nice gun. But I pretty quickly ordered my Atlas Titan. I chose not to get used to the STI since I knew the grip/trigger/balance would be different than the Titan. Then again I’m working on 3 pistol divisions and PCC so I have plenty on my plate but that’s another story. It was 3 months to the day for my TItan but I had some special sauce upgrades and extras that made it take that long.
  6. You almost have it right. Get the 650 and Mr. bulletfeeder.
  7. Nemesis will definitely be my next big purchase.
  8. Search YouTube for instruction videos. Adam from Atlas gunworks has what are probably my favorite bunch of easy to follow videos on working on 1911 and double stack pistols.
  9. I am super impressed with my Atlas Titan. Though I just took delivery (yeah, like a car) today and haven’t been to the range yet, it is still pretty amazeballs. Im looking forward to reporting back after I go thru the paces.
  10. Wow. I was was able to pick up my Titan today as well. Fantastic! Slide is like an ice cube on waxed glass. Simply amazing. The barrel lock up is super slick yet not a smidge of wiggle. Trigger is a perfect (for me) 2lb. Pre and post travel are the least I’ve had in a pistol. That PT evo grip. Wow. Add the nitro fin and it’s almost like a grip casting was made. Fit and finish is superb. Exactly three months to the day from order to home. Now to to get it to the range...
  11. I Totally agree I was definitely not asking for advice on how to intentionally do something wrong. Not really what I was trying to do. Again, Totally agree. Fact is, sometimes crap happens and one doesn’t get to prepare as much as one would like. Just wondering what others do if that situation occurs. I was hoping for more than “LAMR and see what happens” but not necessarily a “regular plan”, since it’s not supposed to happen regularly.
  12. Will do. I may or may not have to blast a few rounds out of it soon. But I’m concentrating on CO for A6 so unfortunately it will be a while before I really get some time behind it.
  13. Thanks CHA-LEE, I realize that i screwed up at Carolina Classic last year. That was a mistake. I’m talking about situations where it’s unavoidable. Traffic sucked, Couldn’t catch an earlier flight, etc. No option. You’re first to go on a memory stage that you only had 5 mins on. I’ve learned my lesson so here are my steps: read stage brief thoroughly and find round/target count. Find targets. Figure mandatory shooting spots. Figure Reloads. Not necessarily in that order depending on the stage. What do you do differently if anything? Especially on a memory stage.
  14. My Atlas Titan is finally home!

    Henning Grips

Let me know if you decide to sell the grips...

    New TS Orange

    What about WSP?
  17. I’ve noticed this is a problem for me. I very slightly dremel’d the (left) inside of the mag catch. Keep in mind you can’t take too much off or it might be unstable or wobbly.
  18. I run an S1 in CO. I had it milled by CGW. Sent them the slide, barrel, and sight. Came back mounted bomb proof. 2k rounds so far no issue. I’m running the DPP 7moa Delta. I had an S2 but decided to sell it since I already am so familiar with the S1 platform it’s fairly easy to switch back and forth between my CO and PROD S1s. Eventually i I will likely make the switch to S2 for both Divisions and maybe even LTD Minor. however, todays delivery may keep me in LTD Major for the next while...
  19. Maybe One of the great machinists can make a hollow titanium guide rod?

    PT Evo-Like Grips

I’ve got the 2.0 Scales on my shadows. Thinking about doing some file work to them to spice them up a bit.
  21. I don’t know if the price difference is really worth it. Then again, I don’t know that it’s NOT worth it. Either way, the Nemesis wasn’t available when I ordered my titan. It might be good salesmanship or a sound mind (or both) but Adam sure seems to make a lot of sense when he describes the principles of their builds. Perhaps when hen I need a new barrel for my titan, I’ll order a Nemesis as well. I also sent in mag tubes for the magic touch. Oh, and my titan is on the truck out for delivery as I type. But Who’s tracking? delivered!
  22. Please let me know when you get it and how you like it. I just got a Titan and I’m pretty excited about it. I may move to the Nemesis but I’d like to see if there is much difference. Adam talks a lot about balance and says his main priority is getting the gun back to zero (sights lining up perfectly after recoil) and that is one of the driving forces behind the Nemesis. I’d like to know the difference between the Titan and Nemesis. Probably the only way to tell is to shoot them side by side. I can’t afford to do that at this time LOL.
  23. My Titan should be at my LGS tomorrow. I’ll report back. I MIGHT or might not have a .40 LTD gun for sale after tomorrow. Wink wink nudge nudge.
  24. Yeah, I’m still waiting on one from a Versa Max. Not holding my breath mind you.
