Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thank you for the suggestions! I'll check those out!
  2. I haven't gotten up the courage to ask them to teach me and be able to use their reloading station yet... The 8 cents figure was what a different friend who reloads estimated the cost for him to reload 9mm. So I'm sure it varies...
  3. Thanks guys! I just figured it was a good discussion topic! I will definitely take the time to browse thru them! I've got the Ben Stoeger gear kit, so I'm very well set up there. I may look into better ear plugs... I've got some friends who reload, and 8 cents per round definitely sounds better than 18... Definitely something to think about. And training videos will be on my priority list. Dry fire is my easiest form of practice since my outdoor range is a good 30-35 minutes away with good traffic.
  4. https://instagram.com/p/Bg7sdHwFP_E/ New pew for USPSA! Steel challenge I ended up using a friend's ruger mkiv which was a total blast. Sold my sr22 to help fund my new pew linked above. Hehe. Got classified for uspsa thru a crazy difficult 6 stage, all classifiers match with my g19, so I'm hoping I can continue to improve now that my thumb actually reaches the mag release on my new g34 gen4. Since I just picked up my g34 from the ffl on Wednesday, this Saturday will be my first match shooting it. Hopefully I can see how it feels before we set up Friday. What are some useful sections of this forum you guys frequent the most? I'd like to be an active member of this forum since I've got class A goals. Haha. ? shooting for the stars, figuratively speaking.
  5. Nice! I'm trying Steel Challenge this weekend! I have a little SR22 pistol I'm going to plink with hopefully. We'll see how it goes! I'm looking forward to being a part of this awesome community!
  6. Hehe. Thanks guys! Pcc will have to wait until I can afford it. Definitely a fun possibility in the future. Yes, hooked, the bug, addicted - lots of ppl kept asking that... I kept thinking "I've been hooked for years! Now I actually have the situation and place to do it! ?????
  7. Hey everyone! I've just recently moved down to GA, grew up in KS shooting guns for fun. Heard about a local club that's active in USPSA and Steel Challenge and what not from a coworker of my husband's. I went to their once a year Competitive Shooting Class for Beginners and instantly fell in with some of the regular club members. It's been a dream! Going from not knowing more than two people and my new hair dresser in town, to having a group of inclusive, awesome people to hang out with and learn from. They've been so helpful and encouraging. I've competed two weekends now, a USPSA and a Target Pistol matches. Every time I shoot, my form continues to evolve and improve and my skills progress! I'm shooting with a gen 3 Glock 19 and it's a beast in my tiny hands, but i'm still pressing thru and making progress. This is definitely something I think I can continue to improve on and move up in the classifications. I'm working on getting a G34 to help out with recoil and improve competitive ability. As I get my form and accuracy down pat, i'm hoping to improve my speed as well. I've already invested in the BSPS BOSS hanger and holster, 5 ghost mag holders, and AA belt set - it's like a second skin after just borrowing from various gracious club members. I have the desire and competitive nature to strive for excellence in this sport! My uncle is a competitive cowboy shooter and has a bunch of steel targets in his yard. As a family, we'd go over and plink on those from time to time. So it hasn't been too difficult a transition into moving and shooting various targets. I really look forward to researching more and learning as much as I can about this awesome sport and community. A bit about me.... I'm a custom tailored costume designer and seamstress, mainly for Star Wars or traditional Japanese inspired costumes/cosplay. Yes, i'm a total nerd, love gaming, reading, movies, etc. tons of different genres, but mostly sci fi. I love the outdoors, have tried just about everything, adrenaline junkie. Off roading, dirt biking, camping, rock climbing, hiking, mtn biking, sky diving, etc. so thanks for having me here, I look forward to getting to know more about competing and the community.
