    PCR rear sight

I would like to upgrade the sights on my PCR. Could those of you that have replacement sights post some photos and if possible the sight heights and front post width and rear notch width and depth, and where you bought your sights. Thanks
  2. Looking at the rosters for my local USPSA matches, lim is definitely in decline as compared to before LO was announced. I’m also seeing most of the lim shooters are minor and D or U class, indicating newer competitors with 9mms not wanting to load 10. Production and SS are all but nonexistent. That’s kind of a shame. I had a ton of fun in the iron sight divisions. Plenty of competition. If it continues on this trajectory it’ll be the United States Optical Shooting Association.
  3. Perhaps those opposed to allowing major pf in LO have nothing to worry about. If all steel 9mm minor guns are killing dots, do they even have a chance of survival bolted to the lightened slide of a major pf gun running a 10lb recoil spring?
  4. Sure. I suspect we’ll see that even more with with Eric Grauffel and Maria Gushchina on team CZ.
  5. I guess for sake of argument, let’s not forget that Alex Gutt did win Production Nationals with a Limited Pro a few years back. Which is more than can be said for the Shadow 2.
  6. Hopefully USPSA doesn’t put the last nail in the coffin for production division by adding another high cap 9mm minor division. I have a limited pro already and am considering a stock 2 just because I want one. Those two guns are so kicka**. It’s a shame that production is dwindling and by the time you buy one of these tanfos, pay for milling, an optic and magazine parts you’re $2000. Same story, $2000 if you could somehow find one of the unobtainable Stock OR pistols and put a decent optic on it and mag parts. It sucks being one of the only production shooters at a local match.
  7. Is the stock 2 bull barrel more accurate than the standard heavy barrel on the lim pro?
  8. They’re about 1oz different in weight. How different are they really? Is the stock 2 worth the extra $280?
  9. The stock 2 is by far the more popular of these two guns. But I would like to hear from those of you who have experience with both. How different are they really? Is the premium price on the stock 2 justified?
  10. I think it was built by Ichiro Nagata.
  11. It’s similar to this one but even more bizarre and heavily modified. The picture I saw was from last year I think.
  12. I saw a picture last year, I think from the Steel Challenge, of what looked like a really heavily modified S&W revolver. It had a real Buck Rogers look to it and I believe it was done by Ichiro Nagata. But I can’t for the life of me find that picture anywhere on the internet. Has anybody seen this photo floating around?
  13. I tried this in a couple of guns after reading this thread. In a tso the tanfoglio sear spring added a tiny bit to the pull weight but did give the trigger pull a more definitive wall and a slightly more crisp break. An overall improvement for my trigger preferences. Second gun, 75B with a cz comp hammer and 13 lb recoil spring, this combination is already significantly better than the factory parts that come in this gun but the sa doesn’t have a very defined wall and the break is good but isn’t all that crisp maybe a 7/10 on my subjective crispiness scale. After the four coil tanfo spring install the break is more crisp for sure, I’d give it an 8.8/10, with a more defined wall and I’m seeing 4-5 oz heavier. I’m not noticing a difference in reset or DA pull on my gun. But in both of these guns this is for sure a worthwhile upgrade for what I like in a trigger. Out of curiosity I installed one of the cz sear springs into The Tanfo and it has a noticeably lighter trigger pull in sa maybe even more dramatic than 1/4 lb but no definite wall and a less crisp. I prefer it slightly heavier with crisper break. So it got its spring back and I’ll be ordering two more for the czs. A quick note on reset, years ago when I installed the parts in the 75, I didn’t like the feel of the reset either with the reduced power trs. CZC sold a heavy trs that is supposed to withstand breakage better and gives a snappier reset at the expense of reduced pull weight. I settled on the heavier trs spring and run a 13 lb hammer, now with the tanfo four coiler for the sear I’m at about 3.25 lbs SA. While this might be too heavy for some the gun feels more predictable and responsive. I may now drop to the 11 lb spring for the hammer and see if that might be the ideal combination. Thanks for the ideas.
  14. it’s an indicator that the gun is undersprung. The problem that you can run into with an undersprung recoil system is battering of the slide and frame like Ronemus was seeing with his gun and talked about in his post earlier. As far as my gun goes, I think that it’s sprung properly for the typical factory whimp loaded 38 super that you find on store shelves today.
  15. Thank you guys. This is exactly the information I needed. I’ll give it a try
  16. Both great pistols. If there is one thing I hate about the Shadow 2, its the tri top slide. Even for really experienced shooters that slide can be a bugger to deal with even more so than the older czs. That is a deal breaker for me. The tanfoglio pistols really do have a much better slide profile. In my opinion the advantages of the shadow 2 out of the box is the fiber optic front sight, and a somewhat better but still not great trigger pulls. With the added cost of the shadow 2, tri top slide, plus the fact that they both could use some trigger work anyway, I went with the tanfoglio instead of the shadow 2 and I tuned it all up and I’m into it the base shadow 2 price. for a guy who is going to leave them stock, that might be a different story. The tanfo da trigger pull is heavy and plenty of stack, sa has plenty of take up and creep, front sight and grips aren’t as good as what comes on the CZ.
  17. Hi I have two tanfoglio pistols, an elite match 38 super and a limited pro 9mm. I have a couple of questions. The 38 super really slings the empty brass when I shoot real 38 super through it. I’m talking between 20-25 feet. The 9mm is way less maybe 5-10 feet. They feel like they have the same weight recoil springs. I’d like to replace the recoil spring in the 38 with a heavier one more appropriate to its chambering. With the pistols assembled, both barrels measure about 4.9” measuring from the breechface to the end of the muzzle. First question, do these pistols use the recoil springs designated for the long slide pistols, or the standard pistols? I’m assuming the 6” barrel tanfoglio hunter is a long slide. The 4.5” pistols are specifically mentioned for the standard length springs. I’m not exactly sure where that puts my approximately 5” barrel pistols for springs. Second question. Which spring weight would you guys recommend for the non-comped 38 super shooting major loads? Thanks
  18. I’m interested in this topic too. I’m probably the friend you’re referring to with similar issues. You and I have talked about this problem. I’m getting malfunctions like yours and also some that look a bit different than yours. I have five mags. Two with CZC extensions for 140mm length plus the czc springs and followers for 21 rd capacity. Two with the factory orange base plate and czc springs and followers for 18 capacity, and one with factory spring and follower with orange base plate for stock 17 rd capacity. The four upgraded magazines worked fine for maybe 2000 rds total between the four mags. The slide lock function was pretty much eliminated with the new followers, which was to be expected from the design description. After a couple thousand rounds I started getting regular jams with three of the four mags. It started when the gun went empty, the slide would neither lock open nor was it closed. It would jam halfway. Mine was not hanging the follower on the feed ramp as bad as yours, but I’d still have to lock the slide open to get the mag out. Then I’d start getting a similar halfway closed slide malfunction only this time with rounds still in the mag. I swapped the slide stop for the straight pin which came with the gun. No real difference, only now I couldn’t lock the slide open to get the mag out when I’d get the jam. Every now and again I’d get a nosedive into the bottom of the feed ramp and setback the bullet into the case a bit. My followers were tilted like in your picture. So I adjusted the springs to level out the followers (pic attached) that worked for not even a full match and on the last stage or two I started getting the same problems. Fed up, I put the stock springs and followers back in the mags and haven’t had a single jam in the last four range trips. So now I’m running 20 and 17 capacity rather than 21 and 18.
  19. A cz 75 in 9mm with the 22 Kadet top end. This platform would be very conducive to practicing the skills needed for action shooting and when he’s ready slap on the 9mm top end, change mags and he’s competing.
  20. I’m a new forum member. I’ve shot competition at my local club for the last several years somewhat casually and have started to get into uspsa more the last couple of years. I’d like to interact with the many experienced forum members and try to learn some things that will be helpful. Thanks Stan
