  1. I am looking for a major load for my G24 with a KKM barrel. I like precision bullets, but Titegroup is very smokey. I shoot at an indoor range, and the smoke just lingers. Nobody in the local area has Ramshot competition or Zip, and N320 is too expensive for practice. Are there any other powders, that are less smokey with precision bullets, that is like Titegroup?

  2. I just got my first order of precision bullets. I loaded, and shot some today. I like them a lot, and plan on ordering about 5,000 more for practice. I was just wondering how they do out of a stock glock barrel. I know they are not supposed to lead as bad as standard lead bullets, but will they cause any problem in a stock Glock besides maybe having to clean it more often? Thanks in advance.

  3. Thanks for the help. It's pretty funny, right after I posted this thread, I found the wedges in the box. They do work. I think I am going to try the velcro also. It seems like a good trick. Thanks again for the help. My next question is what is the fastest way to make Grand Master?:lol::lol:

  4. I am still a new guy to the gun games. I have a CR Speed setup, and I was wondering if the versa pouches are supposed to be able to move around on the belt. The holster is nice, and snug, but the pouches have some play in them. I can slide them back and forth pretty easliy. I realize they have two different systems that attach them to the belt. Just wondering if the play in the pouches is normal. Thanks in advance.

  5. +1. They are alright for practice. I have used them before, and had no problem with them. The FMJ's are better than the TMJ's. Neither is as good as Zero, or Montana Gold in my opinion, but you can shoot them. I am planning on going back to the for practice also. Try the Hunting Shack I believe they are $48 per thousand + shipping for the TMJ's.

  6. I am running a G24 with a KKM barrel, Dawson fiber front sight, Heinie rear sight, JP enterprise extended mag release, THE extended tungsten guide rod, ISMI 15lbs recoil spring, Wolff trigger group competition pak, Decal grips, Dawson ICE magwell, Arredondo +5 mag bases, CR Speed holster, belt, and mag pouches. I love this set up.

  7. Start up cost are always going to be high. It will get a little cheaper once you figure out what you want, and where to get it. Three things that will save you a lot of money buying in bulk, pick up brass at your range if they let you, and try to find powders, and primers locally. Hazmat fees can add up after a while. Some good places to shop are powdervalleyinc., and midwayusa. Look for places that offer free shipping. For a rough estimate

    Brass-Once fired brass from Brassmanbrass 1000= $37.50

Bullets- 230Gr round nose Precision Bullets 1000 = 69.00 Shipping Included

    Powder- 8lbs Hodgdon Titegroup from Powdervalley= $94.00

    Primers- 5000 Winchester LPP from Powdervalley= 77.50

    Hazmat fees=$20.00

    Estimate shipping=$20.00

    Total = $318.00

Break down for powder- 7000 grains in a lbs. x 8lbs of powder / 4.8gr per round=11,667 rds

The powder should last you a while. After the initial purchase the only thing you will be buying for a while will be bullets. Here is a reloading cost calculator that will help you out.

    Reloading Cost Calculator

  8. 230gr Zero JHP

    4.4gr VV N320

    O.A.L 1.134

    Should make U.S.P.S.A major

3.6gr or 3.8gr if you just want a powder puff load.

Go to www.45gap.com, they have a lot of recipes.

  9. I love my G24C. I use it as my limited gun. I put a KKM barrel in it, JP enterprise extended mag release, Dawson fiber optic front sight, heine rear sight, Dawson Ice magwell, THE extended tungsten guide rod, ISMI 15lbs spring, wolf internal springs, recut trigger bar, polished internals, and 5 Arredondo +5 basepads. I was planning on getting a G35 too, but the limited production run got me. The word on the street for 3rd Gen longslides is 500 24C's, 1,000 G24's, and 1,000 17L's. When there gone there gone. I'll get a G35 later. I'm having to much fun with my G24.

  10. I was just wondering where everyone bought there bullets? I was using Ammo Direct buying 40 cal 180Gr Montana Golds for $56.00 per thousand +shipping. They went up to $80. I tried Powder Valley, and they went up. Then I went to ghost holster, and bought Zero 180 Gr JHP's for $146 per 2,000 free shipping, and they went up to $160. Does anyone still sale 40 cal 180's MG, or Zero for $70 per thousand or less shipped?
