  1. Glad you figured it out, I recently did the same thing and have had much better results as well!
  2. Now you guys have me thinking about this. My cases look similar to OPs after loading with 147s. I usually just dial back the crimp, but there's still more bell than I like. I just placed an order for the Lee factory crimp die and the DA Hornady PTX - I'm hoping it's going to be an improvement on the Hornady brand PTX seeing as it's more of a two-step expander.
  3. I would agree with others here - higher PF loads usually lead to higher accuracy. It seems like this is especially the case with FP/TC bullets, but I think it really applies to any bullet profile.
  4. I usually use One Shot and haven't had any issue with it whatsoever. For rifle brass, I fill a 50rd loading block up, give it a couple side-to-side sprays at a 45deg downward angle, turn the block around, and do it again. I give a it a few seconds to dry before dropping it in the case feeder. Makes sizing and bullet seating really quick and easy. For pistol brass, I drop about 100 rounds in a shoebox and shake them around while I'm spraying them down.
  5. I have a pack of both the RN and FP that I just bought. Both look the exact same as the picture above this post - rounded edge on the bottom and tiny dimple/recess at the bottom.
  6. Use something like a Hornady seating die and back off enough to not crimp at all, then factory crimp. I'm not familiar with the Dillon seating dies, but it looks like the die is taper crimping the case before the projectile is fully seated.
  7. Interesting - I didnt know this at all. I'm sure if I switched from CCI to softer Winchester primers, I probably wouldn't have trouble with the lighter spring. Next time I need primers I'll give Winchesters a try again.
  8. I recently got a set of the Ghost MOAB nameplates for free: https://ghostinc.com/moab-mother-of-all-baseplates-for-glocks/ They dont add any weight (maybe a few grams), but seeing as I dont have issues with magazines quickly dropping free, I dont mind. I really like the additional profile/grip they add to the magazine when pulling them from pouches. They're also extremely nice to palm into the grip of the gun vs a stock nameplate.
  9. I've been using the Zev lightened striker in my 34 for a few weeks now. Had maybe a 2-4% light strike rate with the 2lb spring. I switched it out to the 3lb spring and haven't had an issue since. Now, I've only put a couple hundred rounds through the gun with the 3lb spring, but that's a decent sample size in my book. Less than 0.5% failure rate at least. Keep in mind that I have the Zev ultimate adjustable trigger kit though, if that makes any difference.
  10. I got DQ'd my second match this last weekend as well. This game is extremely addicting though - I'm signed up for a USPSA-style steel match this Sunday. Reloading is definitely worth it just for the sake of tuning your load for PF and recoil impulse. Good luck!
  11. I had a DQ this last weekend during my second USPSA match on the second stage after fumbling through it (was a long, 32 rd stage with 2 activators and 7 positions to shoot from). Stupidly, I pulled the trigger on a live round during ulsc. I immediately looked at the RO (who was the range director) and said "That's a DQ." "Yup." Fortunately, it was in a safe direction and pointed down toward the berm. The RO was very cool about it since he understood that I had made a massive brain fart and knew the rules otherwise. Unfortunately for me, it was an extremely embarrassing display of not carefully following directions. I did stick around for the entire match to help paste targets, watch other shooters, and generally reflect on the massive mistake I had made. Still had a good time, but I'll definitely be slowing things way way down during the ulsc. Doesn't help that I hadn't shot a match in a few months, but still not an excuse. I'll be back next weekend for some steel challenge.
