  1. I used one for my glock pistol for a while and I would not recommend it for pistol at all. It is terrible for that as you start to look for the laser instead of focusing on sights and follow on shots and it's only one shot. Trusting your sights and calling your shots would suit you better in that regard. What kind of shooting are you looking to improve with this? Three gun, PRS, or just to get better? 2. Got B class in late July and shot my first major match at the end of September. I was hoping to get A class before the end of the year but I don't know that I'll shoot enough matches now to make that happen. I've been dry firing probably 4-5 days a week and live firing 1-2 days a week most weeks. Been finishing better and better and like someone said, it seems as if things are finally clicking now like someone above said.
  3. DAA made one on their kit that is really good. That's what I used. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. Does anyone have any reviews or information about this company in regards to their firearm finishes, particularly their DLC? They have great prices and I want to ensure they are on the up and up.
  5. Their customer service was great though so I can't complain to much.
  6. When I first got my MBX .40 140mm mags they would always fail to feed on the 4th round left in the magazine. I contacted Adrian (I believe) at MBX and they had me send them in and he tested fired them. He told me he couldn't recreate the problem but that he replaced the springs and followers and sent them back to me. When he sent them back I never had an issue again. Had to be something with the way the follower was seated on the spring in the mag and for some reason would nose dive the 4th round every single time on all 3 mags. Weird.
  7. 0.70 draw and first shot with new gun. Can do that somewhat consistently have maybe 1 in 10 that I mess it up or something - 0.15 A zone splits Dumb goal, learned to see what I need to and get the shots as quickly as the gun will allow - A Class by June haha I had pretty high expectations and then the new high hit factors haven't helped but I am a Mid B class now, so I'm closing in! - 30 minute dry fire every day Pretty much do this usually ends up being 5 days a week with life getting in the way - Live fire at least once a month besides matches I've been doing really well in this regard and actually am getting in several times a month - Improving my stage plans and executing them. This is a goal that is continually improving in. It has been where I am losing spots the most. - at least one level 1 match a month. Been doing this one somewhat regularly, life again gets in the way on occasion but I've been pretty good and I just shot my first level 2 match last weekend and came out not to bad in the standings, 22nd out of 80. I will take for my first go around.
  8. That's what I'm curious about. I'll have to email egw and get their thoughts as a lot of my internals are egw Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  9. What parts do I need to send in for treatment for my 2011 build? Slide Frame Beavertail grip safety Thumb safety Firing pin stop Guide rod plug? Disconnector? Hammer Hammer strut Thanks all Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  10. Hey! Great idea to revisit. So I'm one classifier away from B class (as long as I get a 64% or higher). Instituted dry fire daily working in different aspects and everyday hitting my reloads because it's a weak point of mine. Live firing weekly but only able to once a week right now Back in the gym strength conditioning and working on my grip. Everyone should check out the 'shoot fast podcast'. I've gleaned a lot of solid insight from it and strongly recommend it. I Will be attending two sectional matches which is higher than my original goal and I'm really psyched to go! 11. I have recently been looking into the actual science behind what fo to use. I have always used red but recently heard during a discussion on sights that the human eye picks up on green faster than other colors. Basically from the research I have gathered thus far (which is scant) the human eye can see more hues of green than any other color. However the eye can see yellow the best because it reflect the most light but is also an eye irritant and causes eye fatigue faster which can result in a drop in performance. My question is does anyone have any solid research done by shooters about which is better? I understand there are a lot of variables in a question like this but is interesting nonetheless.
  12. I load to that exact length and have no issues running blue bullets, mixed headstamp brass on mbx mags. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

  14. I've had my everglades mrh for about another now and wasn't able to get that adjusted either but really didn't need to I found with the right adjustment. What I did was bring it forward of my hip and angled outward bringing it to within the 2" needed for limited as well as making it comfortable for me. It has been an adjustment going to the race holster but after a month I'm doing A zone hits at 10 yards in about 0.99-1.06 secs or about there. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  15. Lone Star Innovations. Glenn has done work for me and is a master of the art. Does an awesome job and actually manufactures some of his own parts.
  16. One thing I noticed was getting your reload done before you get to where you could possibly be engaging targets.
  17. It is funny you post this because I have found myself doing the exact same. My draws to single shot are great (sub second) but if incorporating other tasks etc It slows to 1.1 second or even 1.5 second sometimes. The only thing I can think of this being the cause is slowing myself down for a solid sight picture and focus on the front sight. For whatever reason I start doing that from the holster instead of at presentation when I know follow on actions are required. Also it is easy to grab the gun and get one shot with decent accuracy fast because we can have a bad grip and still get away with it. Whereas with follow on actions I'm making sure I have a solid firm grip. Like you say with single shot I'm getting A zone or at least close C zone hits. This is because I've got a "good enough" sight picture to break the shot faster. Whereas when I run a stage or a drill involving multiple shots (bill drill), I'm slowing down everything, from my draw to my sight alignment and then breaking the shot.
  18. In the spirit of new years. What are everyone's aspirations for improvement and goals for the upcoming season. With the close of my first year of USPSA. I'm making a move to limited major with a 2011 and a speed holster so a lot of gear change than what I started with. My goals are: - 0.70 draw and first shot with new gun. - 0.15 A zone splits - A Class by June - 30 minute dry fire every day - Live fire at least once a month besides matches - Improving my stage plans and executing them. - at least one level 1 match a month. 19. It's funny to when you take that extra .1 Second to make sure my sights are settled and sight picture is solid my overall time is much faster because I'm making less mistakes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  20. Being fast doesn't matter if you didn't hit shit. In other words as stated above "you can't miss fast enough" Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
  21. Actually focusing on the front sight. I had a bad habit for the longest time of switching my point of focus to the target then back to sight picture which would cause my shots to go awry. It's not until I began to really train my mind and eye to focus on that front sight throughout the whole firing process that I saw a monumental step forward. I trained myself by verbally telling myself throughout my trigger press "front sight, front sight, front sight" until the shot broke. Making sure I wasn't transferring my focus to the target. My groups tightened up considerably and eventually it became natural but every now and again I have to remind myself, reel it back in lest I fall into bad habits again. 22. Definitely agree with this. Using your body like a tank turret tends to make us overshoot the next target but if we use our legs and hips to point to the next target it is definitely faster and less possibility to overshoot the target.
  23. That is definitely one of the biggest things I've been getting over obviously. Have you found any certain shooting positions or start positions give you trouble when starting off with a 2011?
  24. I have recently completed my 2011 build and am getting into the groove as to the differing grip angle, getting used to flicking the safety on and off, and dealing with having a literal hammer versus striker fired. Has anyone found any skills they overlooked when also transitioning that I could incorporate in to my dry-fire and live fire regime?
