  1. Thanks Flex - you've mentioned follow through to me before... I guess I should take the hint

That really sucks Brian. If it is the cleaning crew this probably isn't the first time things have gone missing from clients' houses. Hopefully they'll get caught.

Dan, that sucks. How many are there now?
  4. I really like that they got the reporter to try it out so people not in the sport have some point of reference. The top shooters always make it look so easy and effortless.
  5. Congrats lugnut, that's a great achievement.
  6. Reload with retention Tactical reload El Prez
  7. Just had time last night to put these together. I have a couple of others I'll post in the next couple of days. (Camera is a Canon FS20)

If you remove the recoil spring, take the stem of a leaf and wrap it around the guide rod, you might get it to cycle

Kyle shot them all, I think he was afraid this C class shooter would blast his sensors I asked him if he felt any difference and he said they were a bit sharper/snappier, but still very soft shooting.

Hey Brian 3.5gr clays @ 1.255 I posted some of the chrono info here: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...t&p=1029162 But after that session it looks like the load using 4.2gr clays w/ 180gr moly is very consistent.

Yup, thanks, you too. How did the shiny gun work?
  13. Kyle helped me Chrono some of the loads today and the results were quite interesting. Someone in this thread had mentioned case capacity being an issue, so I picked out groups of 10 loaded in winchester, federal and CCI cases with the same base load: 3.5gr clays 230gr MG RN, 1.260 OAL, CCI primer: Winchester case: 511.4 avg fps, 32.6 SD, 104.9 ES Federal case: 509.7 avg fps, 23.6 SD, 81.4 ES CCI case: 525.5 avg fps, 21.5 SD, 65 ES Next was 3.6gr clays with winchester cases (they're the most numerous headstamp I have). 546.7 avg fps, 26.3 SD, 99.7 ES Then 180gr moly coated RNFP from billy bullets with 4.0gr clays 705.6 avg fps, 19.1 SD, 53.3 ES Then 4.2gr clays with the 180gr 754.3 avg fps, 15.3 SD, 40.8 ES The ES is so high with the 230 loads that PF can fall anywhere between 120PF - 132PF if you take the slowest and fastest 3 rounds. The 3 slowest federal work out to 112PF! The 180s were much more consistent in this regard, esp the 4.2gr load, falling between 133-139 PF. If you made it this far, thanks for reading

The Circleville match today was fun. Thanks to Conrad for putting together a great match. My shooting was mediocre today. On the stage with the two stars the buzzer went off and my plan went right out the window. I managed to complete it ok, but I think I took extra shots on one target when I didn't need to. I guess that's what happens when you stray from the plan, then try to get back into it later on. The classifier hoser heaven was tough, but still enjoyable since the par time really made you get a move on. I saw some shooters were not able to get all their shots off in the 5 seconds alloted, so that got me to really focus on the front sight and get that gun on to the next target pronto. I've never practiced a strong hand draw, then switching to support hand only, so I need to add that to my dry fire routine. Big thanks to Kyle who helped me chrono some rounds after the match. I need to go over the numbers again to be sure, but I think I may end up tweaking the charge up a touch just to be on the safe side. It seems like the less powder that was in the case, the higher the spread. I also tried out some 180gr moly coated bullets and they seemed a lot more consistent in velocity, but maybe that's because there was more powder. I'm looking forward to trying them at the next IDPA match and seeing how they work out.
  15. Looking for feedback on some stages I've recently put together. http://idpashooting.wordpress.com/idpa-stages/
  16. Unless you're one in a million, your body is not symmetrical. Your shoulder joints will be set differently, the muscle around each will be different, as a result of being left or right handed. So the way you hold the gun in one hand may not work in the other. Go to the range and do some slow fire strong side only, then support side only. Experiment with slightly different arm positions and rotations. Also experiment with standing square on to the target, blading in and various positions in between. Don't worry about where the hits are right now, but be conscious of how the gun feels during recoil, how consistent the recoil feels in the various positions and how your grip feels. Once you find a position that feels right, dry fire using that same position concentrating now on sight alignment and trigger control.
  17. Great find. I guess we'll be seeing on the next episode of cribs
  18. No idea, but I'm sure his expert friend can direct him to the local tactical wadcutter store. Maybe 9mm WCs can go round corners that's why you don't find them at usual civilian stores.
  19. It's more than an addiction, it's a life necessity. An addiction implies that it's something you can give up.
  20. errr... wadcutters in a carry gun?
  21. When you say dynamic warmup, do you mean lifting light weights, then incrementally working up til you get to your actually work sets? If so that's what I do now. For example, if I'm going to do 3x12@200lb squats, I'll start with with 1x12@90lbs, then 1x12@130lbs, then 1x12@170lbs. I've very conscious of my form and will go lighter if I have to. I train by myself so I'm not trying to impress anyone and am not trying to break any records. For example, I have no idea what my 1 rep max weights are because I will never attempt them.
  22. Thanks for the responses. From a mental perspective I like the morning workouts. My brain is not yet filled with issues and I can concentrate on working out. I guess perhaps I need to do more stretching before I start pushing hard. I do some cardio before I hit the weights, but I think that's not a true warm up, because all that does is get some blood pumping and doesn't get the muscles/ligaments ready to work. I guess it's like getting in the car in winter and revving the engine. The engine warms up, but the tranny, bearings and suspension are still cold.
  23. Who the heck do you think you are telling me I have to have fun? I can't believe the nerve of some people! j/k
  24. A couple of months ago I switched from late evening to early morning and have suffered 3 injuries so far. I think my body isn't awake enough to handle morning workouts. On the other hand, by the end of the day, I'm too tired to work out effectively. Yawning between sets. When do you work out?
