All I know is I’ve heard it from two different people now.   I have no way to dispute or prove the claims.    I do know some people using that powder with success so far  🤷‍♂️

I’ve been running AA7 in my open guns for 2yrs now if that helps. Biggest thing is to not overheat the guns if your shooting a practice session, heat will kill guns. I shoot almost every weekend btw

    Theie guns look fantastic!

The pair that rnlinebacker posted are mine. I would highly recommend going with a Venom Custom. I took the plunge with one and it ran fantastic right out of the gate so I had another one built and it’s been nothing but awesome!!! I ran it for the first time in a major match and it preformed flawlessly as expected. Don’s level of customer service is on point. I would rather deal with one person instead of a company where you are just treated as another number in line. Of the many companies that are making custom guns, Venom Custom and Rafferty Custom are the top two that I would recommend.

Why .356 as opposed to .355 for open?  Just curious what difference it makes with coated versus JHP (RMR JHP is .355).  Obviously if I can buy one profile for different guns it makes life easier.

For whatever reason the .355’s don’t hold a group. The .356’s do. I tried both and never looked back. I run tc .355’s for minor and .356 rn for major that way I don’t get the bullets mixed up.

Ahh. I'm going to see if they work. I know a few that use DG, BBI, and Blue Bullets. When I asked them they did specify not to use coated bullets if I had popple holes which I don't.

I have 2 popple holes in my guns and run blues with no leading. Give them a try.

So with jhp being really hard to come by what's the experiences had for the best coated bullets regarding  accuracy and least amount of comp build up?

Victor - Blue Bullets have been awesome. Zero leading in my comps and they are very accurate, just make sure you order .356 profile. I have run the tc and the rn blues with zero issues.

What’s up with the 2 different comp designs? Is the longer 3 port for 38sc?

I believe so. I’m running 9major. Not sure what the other venom gun is but if I had to guess it would be 38sc.

Damn that's a super flat crisp gun. What's your load? What's the trigger pull weight?

    Running 9 major
    9.2gn AA7 @ 1.165oal 125gn .356 RN blues or

    9.5gn AA7 @ 1.165oal 125gn .355 JHP Zeros

Now that's a idea I think I like. Looks fairly simple and gives you a great view of what's going on. I already have a cart and a go pro, I just need a selfie stick and figure out how rig everything up.

I included the links to Amazon where I order the selfie stick and what I used to attach it to my cart. I use a GoPro remote on my belt to turn the camera on and start recording. I also use it to turn the camera off. I use my phone to make sure I have a good view of the entire stage and then turn the camera off until I’m the on deck shooter. I use a GoPro hero 7 black set of 4K and the video is perfect for what we do. I didn’t see the need to spend the extra money on the newest latest greatest GoPro. I have 5 batteries I switch out during a major match if I’m recording 3-5 of my buddies.

  9. This is my setup I use for matches

Zuca cart with my range bag in the middle, has everything in it that I’ll need through out an entire match.
attached to the zuca cart is my go pro with a 10ft “selfie” stick. Where I am able to get an entire aerial view of the entire stage. I also use a hat cam for first person view. I was using a RunCam2 but the audio isn’t the greatest so I picked up a GoPro hero session 5.

Great suggestions, I really appreciate the replies. So far, I've been able to score some Autocomp, HS6, and N340. I'm going to start with those and if I can get my hands on some AA7, SWMP, or Silouhette, I'll jump on it.

AA7 and SWMP are almost identical. I was having more unburnt powder in my gun then with AA7, 5" kkm hybird barrel with two popple holes. I have used autocomp, SWMP, and AA7. I finally settled on AA7 because the dot tracked better then with autocomp. Both are good powders just personal preference. I was at 7.0gn of autocomp with 1.170oal 125jhp (zeros). I use 9.7gn of AA7 with 125gn jhp and 9.4gn with 125gn blues, everything is at 1.170oal.

She ran great for the first 400 rounds I put through it.  Had to change the RTS2 out to a bigger dot as the smaller MOA washed out in the bright sunlight.  Working on some more loads for it this week and get some more trigger time before Area 8 in a couple weeks.

I recently switched from the rts2 to a sig Romeo XL...what a difference both dots are 6moa at max brightness with fresh

    batteries.
