Yeah CO is definitely gaining popularity! I think that’s so to companies putting out red dots that are affordable and gun companies making rmr ready guns.

I said more like open not like open. You are right there are a lot of differences I agree. But I have always Called CO poor mans open because it’s like shooting open with out the things you stated above. CO in my eyes is more closely related to open than any other class. Back when it was 10 round max it was more like production. I love CO but personally I used it until I could get an open gun. For my area of shooting I was the only person shooting CO so I kind of compared myself to the open shooters maybe thats were my thinking comes from.

Yeah it is a plus for CO but it also makes CO more like open. I wish it was 10 rounds. I like CO a lot, but it wasn’t doing it for me so that’s why I switched to open.
  4. I have the 26 inch barrel with the plus 9 and it’s about 6 inches longer than the barrel so wont really matter what length you go with. That depending on how long of tube you get.
  5. I got a tube from Nordic, TTI carrier,TTI safety. I also have a red neck tactical bolt release.
  6. The best way to load is the way you can do it in a match. I can quad load very when I’m at home. But put me in a match and running I mess it up. So quad loading is faster but practice a lot so you can be smooth at a match.
  7. Personally I have a Franchi Affinity! About a grand you can have a fully tricked out shotgun that shoots just like a Benelli M2! They are made by Benelli and almost all Benelli parts fit in them so the after market stuff that fits Benelli m2s work with the Franchi!
  8. I 100% agree with him! I have a Franchi Affinity with all the upgrades I could think of and have about a grand into it. Shoots just as well as my fathers Benelli M2. Plus the grip of the gun is smaller than the M3k so fits my hand better but that’s personal preference.
  9. The DAA backpacks cost a lot but are very nice bags! I love mine for uspsa

That is true the dots do more a lot more. It takes a little time to get used to but once you can track that dot through the recoil you are golden.

    He’s got a point here.

Well I first started shooting CO I called is poor mans open. Now don’t take that as a bad thing! It was a ton of fun! I will never get rid of my carry optics rig. However for me personally I am making the switch to open because I want to go as fast as possible. No doubt the red dot will make you faster and more accurate. But also the lack of people in my area shooting CO means I have no one to shoot against l. It also comes down to how much you want to spend as stated by one of the other members above. As well as if you want to go though the trouble of gettting an open gun to run right, dealing with mag problems, so on and so forth. CO is going to be a lot less hassle. So you have to take a lot of thing into account.
  13. You got a killer deal in that optic! Hope you enjoy it! Look forward to hearing the range report.
  14. I agree pick one and have fun that’s why we do this.
  15. I have been running the vortex viper for about a year and half on my carry optics rig. I have not had any issues with it. Dot get bright enough in the sun light. I would recommend vortex red dots to anyone.
  16. Also looking at the Tac A1. Any updates would be great!
  17. Another vote for tikka here. You can then upgrade it as you see fit but out of the box is great gun.
  18. I would also stick with vortex. Don't own any scopes that are not vortex anymore. The viper pst gen 2 line is under your budget. That is a big step up glass quality.
  19. I just got into the open also. With the gun, mags, and rig I'm in for about $5500. But after the cost of that stuff, reloading open doesn't cost much more than anything else.
  20. I think you should try out both because then it will give you an idea what you like to shoot more. Maybe your gun will like the 115 over the 124.
  21. I ended up getting MBX mags when they had 10% off. So ill come back after I get some use out of them.
  22. Yeah I'm also surprised by 8.5 out of a DVC. But also I have had no problems with HS6.
  23. I have an open gun coming and I’m looking at getting 3 170s and 3 140s.
  24. I might look into the 155s. But why not just run all 170s if you reload into 155? I figure I will start with a 170 in the gun then reload into 140s most of the time.
  25. From what I can tell some mags work for some people and some don't. I think it must be a luck of the draw. I think I will get 2 170 and 4 140 MBX mags and hope they work for me. Overall they seem to be the better bet over STI mags.
