  1. Is there any concern over wearing the magazines down over time as a result?
  2. Great write up. I've been looking at them hard the past few weeks but now even moreso. I'm assuming the mag release isn't metal?
  3. Yeah that's how it was marketed as well. Just a fun whodunnit movie. If you're after another whodunnit, there's an old movie called The Brick that's like a noir high school whodunnit.
  4. He used to do holsters but it took way too much of his time vs. the return on 3D printed stuff he's gotten into.
  5. Well to be fair we weren't told where he was from, so they got the liberty to have fun with it. I don't know what accent he was going for but I digged it knowing he's British.
  6. Savior equipment is the best price:quality option imo. https://www.saviorequipment.com/collections/rifle-bags
  7. I had one and the mount felt really fragile. Window definitely isn't as big as the Holosuns.
  8. I'm going to assume that is the ask, since I just looked it up and AAO make a S&W mag lower. Not sure where the top engineering friend comes into play. Nordic Components has a dedicated lower system, and Stern Defense have a mag block adapter that fits for M&P magazines. https://nordiccomp.com/categories/nc-pcc-lower/ https://getstern.com/mag-admp9-40-p320/
  9. I'm not sure you'll find PCC magwells for milspec AR-15 lowers. Magwells are usually made difficult to take on and off in order to keep consistent position for reloads, and the whole point of a mag adapter is to keep the lower versatile. You can imagine how they might not go together.
  10. Just tried this with 3 layers of electrical tape at the top end. Seems to have done the trick, thanks.
  11. There's a new podcast I've started listening to that's pretty good...Not sure if I'm allowed to link to other places but here it is: https://www.buzzsprout.com/846826/2735008-the-hit-factor-show-episode-3-what-to-expect-at-your-first-uspsa-match?play=true
  12. Glock users have aftermarket support. Colt mag users have said in multiple areas that they feel colt mags feed better, but mag seating is more of an issue from what I've experienced. Plus colts have better aesthetics. Colt mags are pretty cheap as well.
  13. DAA Racers have an insert for glock big sticks that make the mags go deeper. Coda have been iterated in here multiple times. I got some from LAG Tactical and they seem pretty solid, and can also be canted providing you have the attachment system that supports it.
  14. AR9's are finicky beasts, and buying JP is the #1 way to ensure reliability for the most part. And in the grand scheme when comparing the overall price of building one with good parts, the prices are comparable. There's a local PCC M shooter who cleans house with a stock Ruger PCC.
  15. Is there an article or comprehensive list out there showing all the different types of attachment/mounting methods? I'm fairly illiterate with some of these, and I'm used to DAA equipment, which seems pretty straight forward. However, I'm very unfamiliar with all the different mounting methods and such, and what the advantages or disadvantages of each would be (Safariland ELS, Tek-lok, etc). Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  16. Shadow 2 in USPSA Production. Glock 43 with Dawsons for carry with a spare mag.
  17. I'd say there's a bit more throttle control/accuracy focus, but going fast is still important. It just hurts more to drop more charlies than it would if you were major HF. Trying to shoot production like it's open is a pretty fast way to lose production though.
  18. Standing reloads relate because of the mag capacity 'advantage' brought up. If you're doing a lot of standing reloads, then maybe there's reason to look into more capacity, or you need to be reworking your stage plans. Capacity is irrelevant if you're being proactive with your reloads/planning. With regard to recoil, just grip the gun harder and stop being a pansy. There's a clear advantage that Major has over Minor, and that's your hit factor is much more forgiving. When you're shooting minor hit factor, you can't go as fast because A's matter a whole lot more. You can't treat USPSA like it's a bullseye match if you want to be competitive. If minor HF was better you'd see the best shooters out there running minor HF.
  19. I'm not sure how much USPSA you shoot but you'll find almost never are people doing standing reloads. The slight increase in capacity is nowhere near as helpful as the boost in points. Also most people who shoot major PF reload... meaning that .40 is nowhere near as spicy as factory .40.
  20. I think it also depends on which sport you're shooting. 3 feet high at 100 is fine for people who shoot USPSA who are never shooting more than ~25 yards in a given stage.
  21. FYI you can buy a DIY LPK from White Oak Armament and they'll let you include or exclude any specific number of parts, so you don't have to worry about buying small parts separate, and you won't have to worry about having leftover parts. Shipping time is pretty good usually as well.
  22. From my anecdotal experience, the ones shooting revolvers are the same ones who move slow and don't help paste because they think being old prevents them from pasting. I don't think participation trophies have anything to do with revolver shooter participation.
