  2. Greetings, I'm in OKC as well. We've probably shot at matches together, I've teamed up with the OSU squad before.
  3. Hi everyone, brand new guy here. I just finished reading the Tips for Beginners by @G-ManBart and wished I had read that when I first started! Specifically, I was one of those guys who stuffed empty mags back in my belt carriers at the end of a stage. I got distracted during reload and didn't realize my mistake until I was halfway into a stage (and was doing fairly well). I turned a running reload into a static/standing reload, but lesson learned lol. So a little about me I suppose. I started USPSA in late 2015 having just moved to Oklahoma City from Turkey. I am a military federal agent (7S0x1) and had just been assigned from one of our more dynamic teams to a white collar crime/procurement fraud unit. A shooting mentor of mine shoots USPSA and after watching a bunch of his match footage I decided to give it a go as a means of supplementing more dynamic shooting. Over the last two years I continued to shoot, I didn't shoot as much in 2016 because I was getting very serious about Jiu Jitsu competition, but I got some matches in. This year I've really stepped up my dedication. I realized I'm a better shooter than Jits player but I'm still doing Jits :-). Anyways, I joined uspsa and traded a hodge podge of duty gear and my G19 shooting limited division in for a g34, competition belt, red hill tactical holster, and DAA mag carriers shooting production division. At this time I'm not class'd in my division but I shoot at a high C level and approaching upon B class quickly. I've applied for the USAF's uspsa shooting team and will hopefully get a slot on their development team (I need to be at least an A class to get on their main team). I also was given the opportunity to shoot for TeamTUFF and am in the process of joining up with them. I will definitely be the least talented guy on the team but stand to learn a ton from everyone else LOL. I honestly thought I was a shooter until I started shooting USPSA and my eyes were REALLY opened to the talent folks have! I only get in one to two matches a month and I've never shot a big match like sectionals or nationals (but I want to!). I'm currently dry firing 3-5 times a week and get live fire sessions in about twice a month. I'm currently saving my pennies to purchase a Dillon Square Deal-B to help reduce the cost of ammo, give me more ammo to shoot with, and to start exploring tailoring a load for me. I was shooting 147gr Speer but recently switched to 124gr Armscor and liking it. As long as I don't run into issues with knocking steel down then I think I'll stick with 124gr. I found this forum from another shooting mentor of mine who told me to join it. I had put it on the back burner until I was doing some googling about my new Dawson sights (having zeroing issues) and came upon similar issues guys have had on here and joined on the spot. Alright, enough about me. If your in OKC I'd love to shoot with you. I look forward to learning from all of you and will do my best not to post a question unless I've done some homework on the issue and am not adding fodder to the forum. Thanks! Kevin
