The P series ones for magwell do work. But I think I'll order the other 5 in this part number.

Only difference betweem the two extensions is the ones for the A01LD go up the side of the mag so you don't see the mag itself. Other then that they are the same.

So many great triggers for the m&p's.  I like the Timney the best mostly because I like the design of the trigger and the pull is a nice 2-2.5lbs without changing anything except the sear.

I hope S&W makes a steel frame version with the mag well maxed out for production and weighing around 40-43oz.  That could be a really nice CO/production gun that could get them back in the competition game.

I'm actually really liking this competitor with a tungsten guide rod. Super fast and easy to move around. I also did the brass magwell and with both its dang near perfect.

I don't think I'm gonna do any trigger mods. I like the factory trigger. And spending a bunch of money to gain a very little doesn't seem worth it. I've chased the prefect trigger with a bunch of other guns and have found that for me it just doesn't improve anything. I actually am going to send my Venom 2011 back to Don if it doesn't sell and have him redo the super fancy light trigger to have some more return tension. My fingers are not in the best working order and find I need a trigger that sort of forces my finger back and a good felt reset. Otherwise I don't always get the trigger reset.

Didn't even see these on the site. Found one for the P series mags I ordered to try.

That is where mine hit, I used a small needle file to remove some material from the magwell.

Made a groove for the plunger that releases the base for cleaning.

I'd have to dremel pretty much all the way to the screw. I'd rather not. But thanks.

Hmmm... lemme take a look. I don't mind filing stuff.

Can the magwell or bases be filed to fit?  I had an issue with my Henning and a small bit of filing on the magwell easily fixed it.

Looks like the rear part of the henning extension hits the magwell.

You got burnt out.  I had to take an enormous step back and stop the “Help” aspect of it.  I’ll still RO or run pad etc but I will try to stay away from it. Now it’s back to being fun.

Funny you say this. One of the clubs I still belong to, mostly because the membership cycle hasn't lapsed has a small and quick indoor match in the winter. 4 stages with one being a speed shoot and three being around 25-40 shots but very little movement. It's more technical with mandatory reloads, tight shots, ect... and only about 1.5hrs long. No work except pasting required. Well the lady and I decided to go shoot it today. Mind you neither of us has done any USPSA style shooting since August of this year. And I've gotten rid of my fancy guns. Decided to use my A01LD that has a little trigger work. Shot it with no magwell in LO. What a fun way to shoot that gun. I ha e an extra wide safety on it so clicking it off was easy. My score.... about as expected against some pretty good M class guys. But all in it was nice. Not sure I'd be up for an all day 8 stage local but it's still something I enjoy.

If I were buying again these days I'd pick the M&P Competitor too. I really liked the grip for my hands, the trigger is OK and is improvable, and it handled well when I played with it. Aftermarket parts are available so there's no strong down-side. (I enjoy a Canik TP9SFx that I've spent time and money optimizing, but selecting again I'd go with the M&P instead.)

I had a TP9Sfx and Rival. Liked the trigger... didn't like the rest of the gun. Just didn't fit my hands well. Trigger though.... about perfect IMO.

  9. Adding a magwell to my A01LD. I know I need to shorten the grips. Anyone have the shooter grips and could drop a picture of them? Trying to decide if I want to order a set of the PD aggressive aluminum ones or just cut down a set of the LOK ones. I was using the PD brass grips but they make the gun way to heavy.

  10. Had a few gift cards to the local gun shop that have been sitting in my safe for probably well over a year. Decided to use them a few weeks ago to get the M&P metal. Shot it a few times and really liked it. Perfect carry gun. Decided I would get the competition model as well. Going to keep things really simple with it. Ordered a couple TF mag extensions, holster and DPP. I'll probably get the brass magwell for it simply because the factory magwell is concave on the internal part. Why companies do that I'll never understand. Other then that it is perfect for my needs now days. I used to chase scores, match standing, having the latest cool kid guns ect... but after 6 years of basicly shooting matches every weekend and 8-10 majors a year it all stopped being fun last season. So for the every so often local this will do great. I also really like the serrations on the slide. One of the few off the shelf guns I have ever owned that they were usable.

  11. I did 8+ majors for 4 years straight. Every weekend not at a major I was at a local match or working. Always worrying about getting on PS quick enough to get into a match, then getting omna squad with cool people. Spent time practicing, loading ammo, repeat. This year I cut way back. The fun was 100% gone. I quit mid match at a few majors, and didn't even go to CO nats. This year in the beginning of the season everything about it just turned into a drag. Between all the BoD vs. Everyone drama, match drama at locals, ect... it was not fun.

Decided to get back into an old hobbie I had of jeeping and rock crawling. Build a very capable rig and did that most the summer and fall.

I'm going to go to a local indoor match next weekend and shoot. Just for fun. I ha e tried the just for fun part a few times this season and have a hard time not getting sucked into the gamer part. Hopefully this goes well. I'm taking my carry gun, and holster. A couple mags and that's it. I never practice my carry stuff so I'm gonna see if I can use uspsa as just a fun way to practice with it.

  12. I load both major and minor 9mm on my 1100. It's a fairly quick switch over for me. I have the micro adjustable seating die and the DAA adjuster on the powder measure. All I do is dump the power back in the container, fill it up with the other powder. Then check my notes and adjust the dials on powder measure and seating die. Run a few cases through to double le check settings, do final adjustment if needed and I'm good to go. Takes about 10 minutes.

What is your current highest classification?  Just curious.

This is my current highest classification.  Previous to that would be my B class in SS. It is at 64.9826% (high pct). Then CO B class at 63.8841% (high pct) but that one is using 4 major match scores and 2 classifier scores. It is the better representation of my ability I think.

I initially classified in CO as a B class off 4 classifier stages at the beginning of 2022 and as soon as they used 6 of 8 dropped down slightly but enough for my percentage to be below B class. Spent a month or two moving my percentage back to being actually in B class. I have a feeling ill be doing the same for LO.

    A

This classifier was not used, since the score is more than 20% above class and determined by the data enterer to be invalid. If you believe this score should be counted, please fill this form out.

However, because you are not classified in LO is why it accepted it to get your initial 6. Regardless, still awesome job.

After checking again I see the issue.  I was going off the list of flag codes at the bottom of the page you can see all your classification records. It doesn't show the flag code "A". If you go on the rule book amd click the link it does show the flag code "A".

Awesome that they accepted it. Usually they won't because of how much higher it is than your current classification. Great job!

It doesn't say anything about that in the current rules. Believe me I checked lol. But in this specific instance I was not classified at all in LO. I did mention to the RM that he may have to send USPSA a email or what ever saying that yes it was a legit run and score.

As for when I shot it I actually thought it was only a very high M class run. Wasn't until they did the calculations that I found out it was a GM run.
