  1. I bought the stippling set from OTDefense and had decent success on a few carry guns on some *very basic* stippling jobs. It seems that to really get good would take more time and energy than I was willing to invest. I practiced some on a few Sig grip modules for practice but it seems I just don’t have a knack for it lol
  2. Lol! I don’t even think it’s 4 people, they haven’t had a post in over 2 years. Canik is long overdue for their own spot
  3. I really appreciate you posting this. Between work, shooting, and grappling, I end up with occasional tendinitis in my left elbow. I’m going to add these exercises into my routine.
  4. For me, since I focus on Steel Challenge, the best thing I’ve done is buy some steel challenge banners and dry fire those 6 days per week. Even if it’s just a few minutes on the banners, you can’t get any more sport-specific.
  5. I concur with the Garcia Dot Drill. I like shooting dots in general since about half of my live fire is done at an indoor range. This may not be a popular choice here, but the basic dot torture drill could be very beneficial for a newbie. Just start trying to master the fundamentals

I’m really happy to have learned this information
  7. Please keep us updated on how it runs, I’m thinking of picking one up myself.
  8. Sorry if I’m late here, but I purchased the AC trigger and it is absolutely incredible. A huge upgrade over the stock trigger in my opinion. I’d definitely recommend it.
  9. I use Redhill Tactical for OWB and if you want an AIWB holster, I highly recommend Tenicor. They make really good stuff.
  10. Yep, same. I’ve been able to adapt things from that book into many aspects of my every day life with good success. I’m very interested in the seminars though, I’ll have to check them out.
  11. I also have general anxiety disorder and suffer through the things you mentioned, though medication has almost completely eliminated any anxiety attacks (I haven’t had one in over 18 months, knock on wood). I am jealous, though, as I still suffer from some performance anxiety prior to going live in a match lol. I really need to work on this and it is one of the many reasons I joined this forum.
  12. I typically split my dry fire between a timer session and a no-timer session. Basically I consider this speed (timer) and reps (no-timer). I find I can get in a lot more reps I’d practice without the timer.
  13. I’m pretty consistent at 30 minutes of dry fire per day and live firing once per week.

Just here to say that this thread has sold me on trying one out and I’ll be reporting back as soon as I do
  15. My Shooter’s Connection order was very thin. Kind of wild. I also assume it is to keep material costs down.
  16. Thanks so much! I apologize for missing this
  17. Hey everyone, I’ve never shot a Steel Challenge match with a PCC before and had a really quick question. At the start position before the beep, does the safety have to be engaged? I assume so, but wanted to confirm. I ask because I’m a lefty running a Ruger PC carbine and my Ambi safety hasn’t arrived yet, so I may have to wait to compete in PCC until they are back in stock. Just thought I’d ask. I apologize if this has been covered or is obvious, I checked the rule book but it didn’t specifically cover this. Thanks for any responses!
  18. Hi, I'm new to Xcaliburs (own 2) and am curious if anyone knows of any trigger return springs, outside of Grand Power's, that works with the gun? Global Ordnance is currently out of stock and I'd hate for the TRS to break due to round count/dry fire and not have any replacements. Any help would be much appreciated.
  19. Thanks a lot for the information! A quick follow up - what parts were most likely to fail? I know on my CZs, trigger return springs are always a potential weak point. What parts would you consider vital to have on hand?
  20. Hi, I'm now the owner of 2 Grandpower Xcaliburs, may be 3 soon lol, and was curious what spare parts are needed on hand in your experience? What parts commonly break and need regular replacement? Also, are parts from the K100 compatible with the Xcalibur? And where is the best place to buy spare parts now? Sorry for all the questions, but my search skills are lacking. I truly appreciate any help
  21. I have a question, as I own 2 Xcals. Where is the best place to get spare parts, and which spare parts would you recommend having on hand?
  22. This seems like an excellent way to train, I'm going to give this a go and focus primarily on training on paper for the near future. Thanks so much to everyone for all of the replies and tips!
  23. It, somehow, is not on the production gun list. I actually contacted the NROI about this and was told by Troy to contact S&W and have them add it (4" 2.0 compact), and S&W hasn't responded.
  24. Hey guys, I'm new to SCSA but have competed a good bit previously in USPSA, and IDPA in the past. I was curious how important you guys feel it is to have steel targets to practice on? I've been using paper targets and I have Steel Challenge banners for dry fire, but was just curious if having actual steel to practice with is a game changer or not necessarily worth it. I practice 2 times per week with about 500 rounds total per week. Thanks for any replies and apologies if it is a weird question, just figured I'd ask before I dropped $600+ on a bunch of steel.
