A gun can’t be too clean but it can be too dirty. I clean the bore and oil each time I use it and 100% strip clean every 2,500 round. There are a few variables such as the gun itself and how clean the ammunition burns.

What are peoples opinions on the best 9mm bullet weight for competition (IDPA) using coated bullets(125 pf) I understand that 125,s cycle faster and 147 have less felt recoil. Are 135,s a happy medium?

I’m looking for loading recipes for N320 and coated 9mm Bullets of different weights(125, 135 & 147). What grains are you using and what velocities are you getting. Using 4 grains over a 125 gr Rn Blue bullet I’m averaging 1096 fps (137pf) out of a 5” 2011.

I think the area where I can improve the most is transitioning from target to target. Can anyone offer drills that they’ve used that help to decrease their time transitioning between targets with a pistol? I’m mostly competing in carry optics (IDPA and SCSA). I currently practice the Blake and cross cross drills. Thanks in advance my brothers!

Being that US made primers are difficult at best to find and very expensive when you do, does anyone have experience with Ginex, Fiocchi or Servicios primers?

Has anyone had any luck making their own (express) rust bluing solution such as peroxide vinegar and salt? If so what did you use and what ratios? Thanks

Caliber is 9mm. The gun I built myself from a Brazos slide, Cheely frame and STI 1st gen grip

Thank you all. You’ve been most helpful. I think I’ll be going with Brazos. I’ve always used Bar Sto barrels in the past and don't mind the fitting I actually enjoy it being the meticulous machinist that I am.
