  5. Can u elaborate on this? Im trying to envision how you are moving your hand further to the right.... As to your issue, I can sympathize. My sights move up and to the right as well, and am hopefully closer to correcting the issue. What helped me was keeping in mind what happens to the pistol when I shoot it only with my right hand (I am right handed) - it goes up and to the left. From that I inferred that when shooting freestyle I am either applying more overall pressure with my left hand or less with my right hand. Gripping harder with my right hand/stiffening my right wrist drove the sights straight up and down...... YMMV
  6. my apologies I should have followed up. yes, he said it is legal.
  7. Hoping for an answer. Is trimming an OFM gen5 Glock backstrap (beavertail backstrap or otherwise) Production legal? it seems that the two following rules do not prohibit it, and that a trimmed OFM beavertail backstrap is consistent with the two rules: 21.4 Grips Grip modifications such as, but not limited to, undercutting/smoothing the trigger guard, adding or removing finger grooves, or adding stippling, grip tape, or checkering are allowed. Replacement grip panels are allowed provided they do not extend below the butt of the gun to form a make-shift magwell. 22.2 Grips Non-OFM grip modifications (addition or removal of material) that provide function, such as a beavertail or thumb rest are prohibited.
  8. For a time it was Dancer in the Dark. Now? maybe In the Mood for Love
  9. Hoping to glean some insights. As the title says, my sights lift to the 1'oclock postition before returning to the notch. it tracks fairly consistently. Should it be tracking straight up to the 12 o'clock position? is this even a problem? i am a right handed, shooting a VP9 tactical.Ive read elsewhere on this forum that the barrel twist might be causing the lift to 1 o'clock. but I've shot a G17, an M&P 2.0, and a Sig 320 - and every time I shoot those platforms the sights track straight up and down 12 oclock......
  10. Much appreciated. I guess I need to join Alpha Range:)!
  11. @Maximis228, mind if I stop by? Definitely interested in USPSA....
  12. Perhaps focusing on REALLY driving the web of your hand into the beavertail, almost pinching the beavertail with your weak hand thumb..... Ive had this issue before, and I found that this was a workable solution.... As a side note, if you are right handed, your right hand is likely larger than your left hand - but not the opposite if you are left handed.... see link: https://www.pnas.org/content/pnas/91/11/5030.full.pdf
  13. In Bruges is a fun film - two actors known more for their action films taking on a comedic role.....
  14. today seems a good day for another suggestion: Alexander Nevsky, directed by Eisenstein, one of the giants of cinema whose exposition on montage still resonates to this day. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/sergei-eisenstein-anniversary-battleship-potemkin-alexander-nevsky-soviet-cinema-joseph-stalin-a8171911.html
  15. If you get a chance, do watch Running on Karma, Blind Detective, and Romancing in Thin Air. all defy conventions, all involve vision - akin to Dancer in the Dark. Happy viewing!
  16. Looks like I mistakenly called Triad Election as Election II. The first is Election, directed in 2005, then the sequel is Triad Election. Rumor has it is that he is/will be working on a third installment! Start with Election - hope you like it! And it's cool meeting someone else who appreciates Dancer in the Dark!
  17. Almost anything directed by Johnnie To, including: The Mission Exiled Vengeance Election Election II PTU Breaking News Life Without Principle Drug War Dont Go Breaking My Heart Throw Down Sparrow My Left Eye Sees Ghosts Running on Karma** Mad Detective** Romancing in Thin Air** Most Johninie To enthusiasts will know him for his gangster films (The Mission, Exiled, Vengeance, Drug War) as well as for Election/Election II (right there with The Godfather series). He however has taken many commercial risks, crafting films that are singular in their vision: Running on Karma, Mad Detective, and Romancing in Thin Air. I'd suggest watching Election/Election II first, then Exiled and Drug War. Pure craftsmanship, and thrilling to boot. Then if you are taken by To, move on to Running on Karma, Mad Detective, and Romancing Thin Air. and if you've ever seen and were thrilled by The Umbrellas of Cherbourg or The Young Girls of Roquefort, then watch Sparrow! Wong Kar Wai's films: Chungking Express Days of Being Wild In the Mood for Love Grandmaster of course, love action flicks: Sicario zero dark thirty bourne series, including legacy john wick and jw II swordmaster blade of the immortal so many films!
