The extractor will hold a loaded round when shaken vigorously. And I clean out the extractor chamber regularly.And it get very dirty HI POWER JACK What aer you referring to by tune it up? And a new recoil spring in 3000 rounds,really I am not being a smart ass. please explain further. thanks for the replys Tim

I need some collective wisdom. When I first got my dvc open I had failures to eject like others. I sent it back and also paid for a minor tune,which is setting it up to shoot minor loads with a spring change. When I got it back it worked for both major and minor loads. Fast forward about 3000 rounds of each through it and now I am getting failures to eject again with major ammo only,the minor goes bang without a hitch. The only thing that I did was to change bullets from Acme rn to Eggleston flat point.I was first thinking maybe a weak recoil spring for the major loads but it only has 3000 rounds on it.Yes I clean it regularly. For those who want to know more the minor load is 3.1 tite group with a 147 extreme 1.140 and the major load is 6.8 autocomp wit a eggleston 124 flat point at 1.165 Thanks Tim

MY LOAD IS 6.8 AUTOCOMP 124 EGGLESTON COATED BULLET,1.165 OAL MIXED BRASS. OUT OF STI DVC OPEN NO HOLES 1380 FPS THIS IS FROM MEMORY .I AM AWAY FROM HOME RIGHT NOW.

I STARTED WITH ACME THEN WENT WITH EGGLESTON BOTH WORKED WELL AND I WOULD BUY EITHER 0NE. I DID TRY A SAMPLE PACK OF BLUE, SHOT FINE BUT I DIDNT LIKE THE. .355 SIZING OR THE SMURF FINGERS

I also use 3.1 gns of tite group with a 147 coated bullet and extreme 147 plated. They are more accurate than me out of a p320rx and a sti dvc 0pen.

I have a Cmore with an 8 and I wish I went bigger. I asked this same question In the open guns and found everyone was different but a slight majority goes to 6 and 8 min dots. Tim

I have a STI dvc open in 9mm,i sent it back it back to sti and its a lot better but I still get the occasional jam. Mostly with major ammo. There is a lot of talk about the sideways mounts . Do you have one that cured your jams and who's mount is it? If you are up to it a picture of it on your gun would be great. Thanks

I use cci,winchester and federal all spp. The only primers I have tried that didn't work well for me were fiochi. They work fine with fast powder but if I used auto comp or hs6 I would occasionally get a hang fire. But others at the club love them. They are all shooting fast powders though.

I am thinking about a micro dot for my sti dvc open. So what size dot do you like a big one or small one? I lean towards a larger one but I am open to a small dot. So what say you? Thanks Tim

You might try loading up a 124 rn at 1.165 and see if that fits. but worst case i had to send mine back and it was just over 3 weeks. That included the 4th of july week.BTW it works great now. keep the extractor tight and it will run. Tim

I bought a dvc open and had ejection issues.I spoke to the warranty dept and they took care of it. good people to deal with .THE TURNAROUND TIME WAS ABOUT 3 WEEKS.

Good morning Has anyone chronographed the exact same load but with plated and then Hi Tech coated bullets? I just started loading the coated bullets .they shoot well,but i was wondering if the load data would be the same. Any one to this? Thanks Tim

So how many time do you load 9mm major brass? I am new to major and get nervous loading 2 or 3 grains over max listed in the books. Thanks Tim

Mickd1 if you were referring to my post the answer is yes I did.It started jamming from day 1 round 1, to 3 weeks and 6 or 7 hundred rounds. I called sti and told them that a 4000.00 dollar gun should work without me shelling out more money for a 90 degree mount and extractor work.My 600.00 glocks shoot and eject everything.yea I know apples to oranges.

Good luck.My dvc open is back at sti just to get it to shoot a major load . All of my jams look like yours.I did track it down to 1 mag that was more prone to malfunctioning but it still did it with all the mags.sti was very helpful with the warranty but it still sucks that I don't have my gun right now!
