  1. yep, like vtecpaoche said they are in stock at BSPS. Not sure if they are still making them or not. You do need to match what you buy to the grip you have. I believe Cheely makes one that is for their grips and a different one that works with standard 2011 grips. So if you go with theirs you need to make sure your getting the correct one for your grip.
  2. Limcat is what I always ran. It was the original as far as mag angle correction.
  3. I definitely didn’t mean to infer that you can’t swap certain small parts. But things that are fitted to the gun would likely be a no-no. Like slide to frame.
  4. Yes. But do they machine things the same across all their different guns? I don’t know and I doubt it. I would think there has to still be some fitting involved. Im just saying he should ask them. Unless there is someone with intimate knowledge of their process here. We are all just guessing.
  5. You should ask Atlas. They are the ones that will or won’t warranty your pistols when you break something. in general 2011s are not Sigs or Glocks. Everything is custom fit. So it is not drop in or swappable between pistols. unless you guy a super cheap production grade gun that is loose AF. Even then your playing with
  6. Instead of making everything minor scoring. Make everything major scoring. Except PCC. Unless they limit them to 170mm mags.
  7. Without a steel grip it’s prob $2000 in parts. $500 in labor and uncoated or sprayed with cerkote.
  8. I think we are in the middle of a shift in used open gun pricing. these days a used open gun from the best builders is 8500-9000. that pushes the price of a lightly used example of one of their guns to 5500-6500. Only the most high round count, sketch history, low end parts, etc gun will sell for $3500. Just the parts for a high end build are 2500+ There may still be some people out there that are not good at selling things and give their stuff away below market for a quick sale or whatever. But prices will be rising along with the market. Just like anything, you get what you pay for.
  9. If you’re not comfortable buying a quality open gun. I wouldn’t try to switch to open. budget open is carry optics. There is a reason It’s so popular. Most people aren’t comfortable dropping 7k on a open gun. the gun isn’t even the expensive part. It’s the mags, ammo, upkeep, travel to majors. everything on a open gun is a consumable. that being said. It’s a ton of fun. I highly recommend buying a high quality gun and going for it if you can.
  10. I think your referring to LSI (lonestar innovations) outlaw grip. I believe he makes a Left hand version. Not sure who else does.
  11. ive never had to tell a Infinity owner to stop being poor before.
  12. Yes. I really think that the need for a backup gun depends on how much you are traveling to majors. If your just shooting a bunch of local matches within a couple hours of your house. Then you don’t need one. maybe just purchase some spare parts of whatever is most common to break on your particular gun. if your traveling to a lot of majors and spending a significant amount of money. Placing well. Then it may make sense. It’s unlikely that you will need a backup gun very often. I shoot a lot of matches and I have only really needed my backup a couple times.
  13. If it’s touching the perf a tiny little section of bullet shears off and hits the target behind and scores. Seems like you understand how it works and just don’t like the wording. if we’re going to pick apart weird s#!t in the rule book we will be here all day cough……Virgina count…..cough
  14. the NS target doesnt "exist" past the perf. So if its touching the perf then its seen as hitting the target behind.
  15. It’s possible to weld it. If you can find someone to do it and they do a good job. It may not last. It’s more of bandaid then a fix. I don’t think it will add to the value of the gun. if you tell someone “the slide cracked and I had it welded. Hasn’t Re cracked yet” I would guess that you would have a hard time selling the gun and if you did you would have to lower the price quite a bit. So while I agree it could work. It’s not really a viable suggestion for his stated goals.
  16. Yes. That is a pretty standard price. So if your gun is worth enough that putting 1400 into it will be worth it to you. Then go for it. it’s hard for us to say without seeing the gun. I am not familiar with the builder.
  17. You can’t really repair a cracked slide. You have to replace it. it’s worth pretty much nothing with a cracked slide. so replacing the slide will increase the value. That being said, replacing a slide costs a lot of money. Sometimes you have to replace the barrel and comp too. By the time you do that, if it’s a old gun that isn’t worth much you might be better off just putting that money towards a new gun. Or find someone really reasonably priced to replace the slide.
  18. If people are having failures, In my experience, it’s due to careless ammo loading. Careless maintenance. Or both. I shoot 9 Major and don’t have many issues. If I do then I fix them before going to another match. Especially a major. it isn’t that complicated to make a open gun run. Change the springs on your mags every so often and case gauge your ammo.
  19. There is a guy on here @bikerburgess that is local to me. Does this kind of work. I can vouch that his work is great quality.
  20. Ahh ya. That blue tip has a little slot on the side that when aligned falls down into place. You can feel it go that last like 1/8” when you drop it in and gently turn it. i f*#ked one up the first time I replaced mine and then ordered like 10. Of coarse it’s been fine ever since.
  21. No. Definitely not. the knurled knob at the top of the primer tube should be just barely finger tight. mom guessing you may have damaged that blue tip while installing.
  22. It’s not the arrow it’s the Indian if you know what I mean.
