  1. What’s your lowest hanging fruit atm? My dry fire from last night: •Surrender draw to open 10yd paper 5min w/1sec par. •Surrender to steel. 5min. 1.2sec par. •Surrender to paper - transition to steel - transition to steel - transition to open paper. 5min. 2.7sec par. •Above transitions with a reload and shoot array again. 5min. 5.2sec par I noticed that my Surrender draw was a little slow in Live fire the other day, so that’s what I took to Dry fire.
  2. I saw that on IG, very cool. Now I just need to figure out how to incorporate it into my dry fire. ?
  3. If you make A in Production, won’t Open and CO get bumped to B anyway? ? 2 (or 3) birds with one stone. Boom.
  4. I had a Friday slot for the taking, but couldn’t do the weekday. I’m getting a alot next year.
  5. Yeah, I help with set up at my 3 local clubs, so that warms me up. I do stretch a little before that first stage. I’m a gym rat, so I’m usually pretty stiff from the previous days workout.
  6. That’s kinda where I’m at with this particular club. We have 4 bays to work with. I’m thinking 2 field courses, a medium with a single string classifier, and then 2 shorter 12-14rd courses would fit the bill.
  7. Would you rather hit a 5 stage (4+classifier) with field courses or add a 6th stage and run a few 12-14rd short courses over that 1 big 32 round course?
  8. I get the 4 stages for a Tuesday weekday thing.
  9. Could be. After swapping the RSA, it stopped. Maybe it forced me to focus on the grip, possibly. I’m just glad it’s been worked out.
  10. I almost let the CZ/Tanfoglio craze get me. Everyone at my local matches hopped on that trend and the pressure was there. While I like them, I decided to stick with the G17 for now and I spent that money on more reloading components.
  11. I’d probably get a shed or conex to put my range goodies in. What kind of land/soil is it? Sandy? Rocky? Clay? Dirt? Grass? Could help determine if you need to bring in some material. Drainage issues. BTW, I’m very jealous.
  12. I’m starting to like the wheeled bags. I think its CED/Double Alpha. The one with the metal top that you can sit on. (If somebody has a link to what I’m talking about, post it up)
  13. I don’t shoot enough Alpha’s. I started last year and was the typical go-fast shooter. I’d put up 6-8 Mikes a match (local). I’ve gotten better about the Mikes this year, but only recently realized at Area 7 that I need to shoot more Alpha’s. I’m a Production shooter. Last match was 75% A’s. 1M, 1D.
  14. I like chasing the better shooters in my class. Helps me gage my progress.
  15. Maybe switch to major with .45 wad cutters. Like MemphisM said though, call your shots. Took me a while to really do that myself. In practice i’m about good to 20yds before I need to walk out to see them.
  16. I shot my first season (last year) without any dry fire and no real practice plan/schedule. I got a little better (classified at the bottom on ‘C’ class) working up to the mid 50%. A few weeks before Area 7 this year I started dry firing and planning out my practices. My draw is down to ~1sec from about 1.7, my reloads are improving (still struggle with consistency) and things are starting to come together. Shooting sooner, leaving sooner. Have run a few classifiers in practice that would be ‘M’ on a cold run and many ‘A’ runs. Now I just need to transfer that to a match. I have a mental block on classifiers like some others.
  17. One more thing about class percentage. The % on your match isn’t the % used to determine your classification %. Your hit factor on that classifier with determine your % based on the HHF from the thousands of times that COF has been shot. USPSA has a good calculator now to check and see where you land.
  18. Those some good tips. I need to write down when I change them and keep an idea of how many rounds are on them.
  19. Really enjoyed that. I quit watching TV a couple years ago, and came across that while my kids were on Nexflix. I watched the entire series over the course of a month and thought it was one of my favorite series. (Justified being my all time favorite)
  20. •Shooting After Dark (Practical Pistol) •Firearms Nation •Shoot Fast Podcast •Short Course •That Shooting Show (when I can stand it) •3-Gun Show •Triangle Tactical •The SquadRoom Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History is good too. Great story teller.
  21. I think I made it till the middle of season 6. I just couldn’t do it anymore.
  22. How’s that new club match doing? Help out and make it a good match. I volunteer at 3 “local” clubs. Closest is an hour and the other 2 are about an hour 20min. I enjoy this sport and will put in the time/energy to help make it better.
