  1. Seems like the majority of matches are field courses with maybe a short course to go with the classifier stage to even out the match. Does your club run some shorter stuff?
  2. Do all you guys with the 7-8+ stages have as many pits to shoot in? Or do some stages get doubled up in a pit?
  3. Have had good luck with 1 pair. Fit was perfect, shoes lasted about a year. (I actually still wear them, but they are toast) I tried my luck again and ordered 2 pair when Ebay sent me one of those coupons. Neither pair fit. All three were the same size. I did end up selling them at a match for what I paid. 2 guys said they fit perfect and for the price, they didn't mind.
  4. This right here. Once you set up your belt, putting that outer belt with the holster right on my hip where I want it is all I do. I know my mags are good if my holster is where it should be.
  5. About 65mi from Fairmont. Probably an hour or slightly more.
  6. How far are you willing to travel? East Huntington Practical Shooters in Western PA hosts USPSA matches.
  7. That makes more sense. The picture above doesn’t stipulate that action.
  8. I went single stage to start over the winter. I had time when it was 20 degrees out and snowing. I realize I shoot way too much for a single stage, and like you have 2 little kids and time is now a premium. I think I'm sold on the 1050 over the 650. (I need to ignore all evolution threads ?)
  9. Why did I click on this thread?! ? I just made up my mind to go with the 1050 instead of the 650 and now......................
  10. I got 6 new mags the day before a match once. I loaded them up the night before to try and loosen up the spring a bit. It was tough seating them. Really had to slam them in. I let my buddy borrow some mags once and they just did not want to seat in his gun. Odd. Glock 19 and all.
  11. I live fire 2x/week and I'll do a hand full of draws at the safe table. One match I go to, I also set up the day before and get to shoot a stage or at least get some reps in. That helps big time, since I'm back at the range only 12-13hrs later.
  12. Don't see a whole lot of that distance around here. One club an hour and a half north of me opened up a 1,000+ yard range, but has since had some legal issues with neighbors. Hopefully it gets worked out and back open.
  13. Seriously. If I could buy it sorted by headstamp (picky barrel), I'd be in.
  14. I really liked my red FO at first, but I'm interested in a change. Post up what you end up doing and how it goes.
  15. Got to put a few rounds down range before the rain came in sheets. Both G17's had about an 8-9" group at 25yds from a bench rest with the 147g coated bullets I've been shooting. Didn't really get a chance to test much more. Started with 10yds standing and kept ~4" groups. Going to try and get some different coated and see if I can find more answers.
  16. Gotta test that out. Never really shot much at that distance. Yes. Copy that. My barrel is also picky with head stamps, which doesn't seem to be a problem with anyone else in 9mm. Hell, I give most of my brass to a buddy who shoots a Shadow 2. WTF. Good stuff. Thank you. Had a buddy give me some Hornady FMJ RN he loads. Going to grab a box of factory Federal and I'd like to get at least 1 more load to test them all in the same sitting. I'm going to shoot my other G17 and I'll try swapping the barrels too. My buddy loads the same rounds as me and shoots a Shadow 2, so I'll try that too.
  17. Yup. That's BS. It said STARTING POSITION was holding bag in hand. You did that. You needed to activate the drop turner with the bag as stated, but nowhere in that WSB did it say you needed to hold onto the bag after the start. If the stage designer wanted you to hold it during that first array, they should have written that WSB different. Shouldn't be a reshoot. I'm surprised that got through in the RM's walk through.
  18. Sounds like a good problem to have.......as long as you have the set up help and bays to accommodate.
  19. Ok, one more thing to consider. ha I am new to reloading, just started in Feb. I'll have to look into that. Thank you.
  20. I shoot a gen 4 Glock 17. OEM barrel with 147g coated truncated cone over 3.2g of TG. I get pretty crappy hits on paper at 25yds. I figured it was just user error. I’ve worked on slow fire trigger control and shooting from a bench and while it eliminates MIKES, it’s still all over the target. (USPSA metric). I’ve had a few conversations with other glock shooters and some are fine with the coated and accuracy. Anyone have the same issue? I’m thinking of buying a few sample packs from other coated manufacturers, possibly replacing the barrel with a KKM, or if I have too, go to a Hornady 147g FMJ. Possibly go up in diameter? what to try?
  21. Zev race connector and spring kit, wolff 4.5lb spring, apex plunger.........polish and about 18,000 rounds. It’s no 2011 trigger, but I’ve gotten used to it.
  22. I’m going to have to try dry firing on that. Nice work.
  23. Distance change up, Accelerator, Transitions (high to low, close to far, paper to steel, wide......)
