  1. There’s always a bright side! ?
  2. Same, I would just add Firearms Nation. Great interviews by Arik. Waiting for Triangle Tactical to come back on too.
  3. My percentage of the winners at my matches.
  4. I’ve seen a much better cart/wheeled frame for that DAA bag than what I see on the website. Does anyone know of others that fit that bag, besides the one from the link?
  5. I've been thinking of going this route to play out of Production once in a while. Thanks for the thread OP!
  6. Yeah, last place on that stage was only 15pt behind winner. (He also won Production). Sandbagger. Ha
  7. Over the weekend I shot a match and came to the classifier, 99-62 Bang and Clang. Well, it’s a Surrender draw. I draw and get the gun up and.....bang, click, dead trigger. What happened? The screw in my holster had become loose and the gun was sitting lower in it. On my draw, I was pressing the gun into the side of the holster, pressing the mag release. Mag would unseat and there goes that classifier. Check and tighten the screws from time to time.
  8. Fundamentals first. Acceptable sight picture and trigger control. If you don't have any, seeing as you are fairly new, ask if you can take home a few targets from the match. Set them up and dry fire, practicing that sight picture and trigger control. You'll be amazed what dry fire 15min 3 days a week will do.
  9. Get an idea of the range turf. (Sand, gravel, grass,......) I shot my first major at a very sandy range. That sand gets everywhere. Cost me a few malfunctions. Bring snacks. There should be water thanks to Matt Hopkins ?.
  10. Anyone try the New Balance KOM? https://www.newbalance.com/pd/Summit-K.O.M./191902285104.html?Ecid=ps_MTSKOMFB_Google_PLA_832462064&ncr=true&&CATARGETID=172000630001904778&cadevice=m&gclid=CjwKCAjwh9_bBRA_EiwApObaONdWaE0_VthBD8oX9azCx1j-MYDUr4Lc2X9UHfpHwkymhueIskL_qRoCO30QAvD_BwE#color=Flame_with_Black&size=8&width=D Wonder what that tread is like.
  11. I turn on 100.9 FM. On my way East it's K Hits https://bighitsbigfun.com/ lot's' of '80's hits. On my way North to matches it's https://mykix1009.iheart.com/ Country station. I also do the Podcasts from time to time, but I've usually already listened during the week. Firearms Nation is a great interview Podcast and typically an hour +, so that's another to add to the list.
  12. Haha. Yup. I like those spots on a stage where everyone takes 8 shots. 70-80 shooters all putting their brass in a pile more or less. I stage I RO’d at Area 7 was shot from a box. All the brass went in a pile.
  13. I build the wood ones ( free with scrap from work) but I’m always looking for a better option. Those PVC might work well for indoors when the winter comes though.
  14. I've gotten a hand full of shooters to come out to some matches. One guy is all in. I do think that it can be pretty intimidating at first. Males don't want to finish at the bottom and realize that aren't that good a shooter.
  15. Interesting. I wasted hours looking back through Practiscore to see what classifiers we've shot at a club. Turns out, I could have just got the entire list from that tab too.
  16. I'm starting to feel that way. I'm only in my second year with USPSA and I'm coming around to the idea that not everything has to be RUN AND GUN. I of course still really like that aspect of the sport, but think the shorter courses with some activators with options is good for a overall match.
  17. I guess I'd jump to Limited or PCC from Production if this came about.
  18. Oooo.....hadn’t thought of that. Nice.
  19. Lot's of good tips in this thread. Set up drills to practice various exits. Could be Box A to Box B. Vary target difficulty. 7yd open you can probably shift your weight and start leaning out while taking that 2nd shot. Steel, better confirm hit before leaving. Wall with fault line extending back at either side. Practice your drop step to power into next position. Keep going back and forth. (I like to set up a steel just in line with that wall edge/fault line so you have a lean) Can always move it inward too and make it harder.
  20. Where about in CT? I'm in Guilford. Shoot any USPSA?
  21. Should be a great match. Wish I could have signed up. Enjoy.
  22. We build the day before and we get designs going a week or so out. I design a few and another guy or 2 do couple. We have completely different styles, so it mixes well. I’m still struggling with match flow myself. Still working on that aspect.
  23. You guys don’t disappoint. Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, that’s probably the simplest reason for it. Yeah, I’ve watched some of your stuff and incorporated it into some of my stages. Even some of your practice set up arrays.
  24. For what I see them for, I'll probably just pony up the extra $300 or so on a new one.
