  1. I shoot Single Stack and have gotten used to light participation in matches. For me, it was never about the competition. I strive to be the best I could be on that day. Because of the 8 round mags, I only had one makeup shot available on any stage. I learned early on how to shoot Alpha-Charlies. I learned how to break down stages. In short, I became a better shooter. I would suggest that you enjoy yourself, know what you want to get better at and have fun. It is, after all, a local match where you win bragging rights. If that is not enough, try comparing your performance against someone who is classified above you.
  2. I wouldn't trust a guy who has to ask advise about dressing himself to handle a gun. Can't millennials do anything with the approval of the crowd first?
  3. You don't have to be affiliated with any club to perform this search.
  4. I opted for the case feeder only, the bullet feeder seems like too much work to set up. I do now have the Mr Bullet Feeder Powder Funnel. It opens the mouth of the brass a little bit bigger for a short distance. Makes inserting bullets by hand much simpler. I also will not do without the through-die-head lighting system from Inline Fabrication. The best $40 I have ever spent.
  5. Supine position, used by one flavor of Metallic Silhouette Shooting. I have shot silhouette, but the NRA version, only offhand. I have never been a fan of supine position for obvious safety issues but it is a valid position.
  6. Go to: https://www.uspsa.org/member-support.php then enter your membership number in "Classifier Record" and click "Lookup" In the upper right hand corner, the following info is displayed: RO Certification Info: RO Certification Level: Chief Range Officer RO Certification Date: 6/22/15 RO Certification Expiry: 6/30/18 Lookup Performed: 6/27/17
  7. National matches are Level 4. Area matches are Level 3. Sectional, State and some Special matches are Level 2. Local matches are Level 1.
  8. Keep in mind that some of us are aging and not as flexible, nimble or competitive as we once were but still enjoy shooting in competition.
  9. The only course scheduled for the Northeast this year is in August at Wappingers Falls, NY.
  10. I just reread the original post. You are having trouble installing the original thumb safety, correct. I know this may be a dumb question but, is the hammer cocked? My hammer must be cocked to fully install the thumb safety.
