  1. Were on the Customs and Border Protection National Marksmanship Unit CBP/NMU. We utilize gear for COMPS that is similar to duty gear. That is the reason for duty style weapons (G47). Either way, I am pretty sure that he can take a banana, wrap some bailing wire around with a little duct tape and still shoot fast
  2. This thread is proving it is a no-brainer. I now have 2 identical guns. I try to use one for Matches and one for practice but lately I have been rotating them in more than before. I am glad that I adopted this practice because I was in a training session not that long ago and broke a slide stop. If it were at a match, I would/could just pull it off my backup gun but it always helps to have an even swap if possible. It may also help not having to carry different gear with you as well. Especially if I am traveling far away from home base.
  3. Awesome! I will be adding this to the mix. Thanks.
  4. Thanks! Where did you get the milling done? I have 2 custom prod stock 2's that are safe queens since I switched to CO. Debating on sending them somewhere to get milled.
  5. Awesome! Glad to hear it! Just curious what does your tanfo setup entail? I switched over from PROD to CO last year so i have my custom built tanfo's sitting in a safe.
  6. Awesome! Glad you're on here. This is an ENDLESS source of information. Good luck in the shooting sports and the addiction will will never end.
  7. Post some data if possible. Trying to get a little feedback before I commit $$$ Thanks!
  8. I know its an older thread but any updates to guys following this? Still trying to get some feedback on these before dropping some $$$
  9. Have you already went with the shot/putty option? Trying to get some feedback on that option.
  10. Welcome! I am here in WV. As far as MD goes, run!
  11. Thanks! I will get on it. I will try to follow up for those who care
  12. Awesome and thanks! Did you have to replace any parts on the GLOCK itself? Mag release, springs, etc.
  13. Sorry i didn't tag you in the recent reply. I am looking at them for CO use in my pistols. I seem to be having more frequent issues with mags sticking when reloading. Even when the gun is clean. I was just curious if the metal mag would make a big difference. Just trying to test a theory out but it will be an expensive test i guess.
  14. I am debating on making some modifications to my main match guns (G47MOS and a G19MOS) to be able to run the MBX mags. I made an investment into an STI Edge 2 years ago and it came with 10 Brand new 140mm mags, which i already have plenty of from shooting LIM Major. I was planning on listing those on here to offload them and try out some better mags. I have plenty of 17 round OEM Glock mags with extenders but was curious if it would help with reloads, etc. The plastic on plastic sticking, even when clean, seems to be becoming more frequent so i was just curious. Although it is an expensive way to "test" a theory out. But either way, thanks for all the info so far.
  15. Does anyone have any experience with these MBX Glock Mags? I saw them a while back and was checking to see if anyone has any use/feedback/trials/etc.
  16. Sorry for the long delay. I have been super busy at work with COVID and all this crap going on. To be honest, I had some other issues arise with the Pantera. Not their fault, I was shooting some duty ammunition and the shoe on the barrel ended up cracking and warping the slide. They actually just sent me a new replacement but I haven't shot it yet. It is still new in the box. I am going to use it for a backup Limited gun when I switch back over from Production. I do think that front sights sound like a common issue on the 2011 platform. I wouldn't think too much into it. I would just not shoot hotter ammunition.
  17. HA. Similar experience. Lesson well learned. I bought some match ammo from Freedom for a 3-gun match and decided to switch to it the morning the match started. Rounds were too long for my pistol barrel and it became a single shot disaster stage. I immediately got my daughter to run grab my duty ammo from my car and switched it out. Needless to say, I will never do that again. I guess matches are not the place to test ammo and gear. SMH. Lesson learned!
  18. Excellent observations. And yes, I ask myself that all the time. "Wait, I ask for this!" This sport is the most gratifying and frustrating sport but it is still an awesome hobby. Great job!
  19. Welcome! Congrats on your first match. Keep at it. This is definitely a place to gather information on just about anything. Good luck!
  20. I am not master blaster, but it looks like you have a multiple step draw. 1 hand goes to gun, 2 hands come together, 3 gun comes up. get yourself a shot timer and work on your reaction time. just use the beep with no pars at first. work on getting your hands in place simultaneously. your strong hand should immediately mount the gun, your support hand should also be moving into position to meet the other hand. once the hands come together, then establish grip as the hands/gun move up into position with the sights aligned to break the shot as soon as you have an acceptable sight picture. if that all makes sense. just my 2 cents worth aren't worth much. PM me if you have any more questions.
  21. Primary competition gun: Tanfo Stock 2. Started with an M&P pro in .40. Main carry gun is a Shield for now. Looking at some others but I am super happy with it.
  22. I do load my ammo. 147's, 130PF, CCI is usually what I use.
  23. New'ish to the forum in theory. I purchased a used Stock 2 that was production ready off Enos. I am not too sure what springs are in there but I believe that Bodkin did the internals. I am in the offseason for a month and was wondering what needs to be changed out to give it a tune up or refresh it for the upcoming season. As far as springs, #'s, etc. I am good with the gunsmithing but was just wondering if anyone has any leads on websites, information, etc. Any help is appreciated.
