Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I agree with Doug, good call. I can probably make January, cannot make December!
  2. Great match, challenging stages, and still through in time for a decent ETA to la casa 2.5 hours away. Good idea to shorten stages a little and lower par times to speed up match and create more stages. U da man Fred Q!
  3. See you Sunday Fred. May have my 13 year old grandson along to see what the gun thing is really about.
  4. Will see you Sunday Fred, bringing a bud. Alan
  5. I got my 15" 2 weeks ago. Love the light weight and it stays cool no matter what. It will move slightly but not enough to matter-Im guessing all 15" have some leverage working. I dont know how durable but its supposed to be incredibly strong AND AP is a good dude and am sure he will make good if any reasonable problem encountered.
  6. Great match again Fred. It's always worth that long drive. I really appreciate your hard work.
  7. Got your back. Will loan u my 3 gun cart, no chg for a bud. Met u at college station. Just give it back in condition I give it.
  8. Jesse Hotels: Have stayed nearer the water in past and was very disappointed with the mold from hurricane floods years ago. Started staying at courtyard and Hilton and while more expensive, was worth it to get decent rest and not be sick at match. Doesn't sound like much til you done it...
  9. Another fun match on a unique range. Like Ken mentioned, no bays per se, rolling countryside, SHADE, and yesterday at least-no wind and great temps. The match director asks for critique every month and makes this match better each trip with competitors input. Great job Fred! See you next month, Alan C
  10. I shot the match yesterday 8/27. New MGM spinner is indeed a hoot to shoot-get your timing right and away she goes...or not. The new Riflemans Ridge stage was a really fun combination of near and far targets engaged from 4 different positions and was the only real physical running portion of the match. All stages except 1 have shade, a blessing in these temps. I really like this range for its rolling natural terrain and shooting positions. Fred has worked super hard to fine tune the stages, build berms and alleys, and his stage design pretty much challenges the shooter and eliminates gaming. The scoring system has no peer-up to date match results on the fly in seconds. All the stages have movement but you are shooting and/or loading while moving vs a dead run to a different postion. The moderation of the hard running brings welcomed emphasis to good shooting technique, manipulation skills, ammo management vs just physically surviving the stage. No match setup or tear down is definite benefit. Its a 130+ miles from my digs to aggieland but its worth it-fun factor = high. See you guys next month, keep up the great work. Alan
  11. just returned from registration. Seamless flow in stats shack. Shooters packet and match brochure are very professional. Setup also looks spot on. Great job Sheldon and staff! Alan C.
  12. I love my 1-4 Razor as well. Their customer service is as great as the optic itself. I had a problem, received the UPS call tag on Monday, shipped my scope back on Tuesday, had a new scope back on my rifle the following Monday. Its a fair piece from Texas to up north when they got that white stuff everywhere and they still provided a one day turnaround. Wont be my last Vortex. Now if Jamie can just get me hooked up with a cap....!
  13. I really like my z6i. The BRT reticle acts like a large chevron for short range blasting. The super good glass has superb clarity so you see long range stuff @ 6X that would take 10X with other scopes to see. The magnification is low enough that long range has minimum mirage even at 100+ temps over road base deck. Lightweight, short length, at least I dont regret (too much) spending the money for it.
