  1. Living proof that Darwinism doesn't work fast enough and that some gene pools need a filter.
  2. I like the idea of competition because sometimes it's really hard to get the American parts and when you do they sure are pricey. The prices for the American stuff is really getting out of hand, and the old saying of "you get what you pay for" doesn't really apply because I've seen way too many guns and parts not function or fail straight from the factories. Maybe SPS will help both of them pay more attention.
  3. The first real Christmas music I like, and she's a hell of a lot hotter than Needermeyer....

To me the biggest issue I've seen lately is the ability to walk up to the chrono, hand them whatever ammo you wish, and declare a bullet weight. I'd prefer to not say what matches thats been, but if you go minor honsetly and others "creatively" make major that bugs me. Do it right or don't do it at all...
  5. Try a few small chickens that way. Down in La we do it all the time. Sprinkle the inside and out with Tony Chacherie's and maybe some injected marinades. You'll love it.
  6. Never heard of a "sweet spot" before. Sounds like it needs to checked out by somebody else. The test from the old days was dropping the slide on a dummy round, and then dropping the slide on an empty chamber with the trigger held back. Usually if it passes those tests it was ok. I'd be curious to know what yours does.
  7. The server is up and running. (Hopefully it stays that way this time ) Stages are there. Let me know what information people need and we will try to accomodate if possible. Daniel
  8. The server for the LA Gator website is currently down for maintenance and updates. As soon as they can get us back in service, we will have the shooting schedule and squads posted. Thanks for your patience. doc
  9. I caught a piece of that episode, and saw it on the floor. It's a high cap SV, Scott grip, mag well, and comp. relaay cool....
  10. Lead from the priming compound is probably the worst, so definitely keep tumbling media outside if possible. As for holding your breath, any deprivation of oxygen to the brain is extremely detrimental to your senses, especially decreasing your visual acuity while shooting.
  11. Since we've got fish planned I'll skip the gumbo for now... Eat...Shoot...Eat...Shoot...Sounds good to me!
  12. The web here has been down for a while, so I could not reply sooner, but you guys should know my whole purpose for existing is too stir up stuff in this area. That's when I'm happiest!!!
  13. And I think the tables will be turning in production in this area.....
  14. After 14 years shooting IPSC I finally got a chance to put together a training class for myself and some other shooters and got one heck of a deal with Double Impact. These guys are incredible! 2 pros for the price of one! Being stuck in M limited for a few years now it was becamoming obvious that my skills needed total reworking, and I did feel like a newbie for the bulk of the weekend, but it was so worth it. The classroom time is invaluable, and well worth the price of admission, but we spent 2 days and close to 1000 rds breaking down every step of everything you could ever hope to do in an IPSC world. These guys are class acts all the way, knowledgeable and extremely supportive. If you are really interested in advancing, save yourself a lot of grief and get some good training. It's worth the effort. Thanks to Max and Travis, and thanks to all who attended the class and helped to make it a success. BTW If you haven't worked with these guys yet, beware the folks who have!!!
  15. I know this is late notice but we had a full class scheduled with Max and Travis here in Thibodaux LA (home of the Gator Classic) for this weekend and one of our guys is unable to attend due to work conflicts. In short there is 1 slot available for anyone looking for a really quickly decided upon vacation with 2 great teachers. Please contact Daniel at strayerv40@hotmail.com if anyone is interested.
  16. We just found out that one lives at the end of our road (approx. 2 miles and only 1 way in and out) I'm trying to find out if he has to put a sign up in his yard. To hell with his rights, label him and make him uncomfortable.
  17. I thought you were supposed to be the kick-er and not the kick-ee....
  18. James, please quit sandbagging in production and then pick up a wheelgun and finish that off too. Does anybody have GM in all 5 divisions? That would be so cool. Too bad we won't be seeing you for a while
  19. Nice post "shooter dude". I would also like to add that the LA website is up and running well. Stages for the Classic as well as local monthly matches are being posted. My wife and I are running the page and are doing our best to keep the info fresh and available. Soon all 4 IPSC clubs and hopefully ICORE will be posting monthly stage descriptions as well. Look for upcoming links, photos, and video clips as we develop our skills. All can be accessed at www.lagator.org and please remember, we are volunteers and are doing our best in our free time. Daniel
  20. The only thing worse than reloading is reading the Blue Press and seeing those letters from folks ("who can't wait to get home and crank out some rounds on their press!!!!") It makes me wonder if these folks really shoot anyway.
  21. No one "wants" to DQ shooters but I think in both cases it is justified. The shooters are primarily responsible and we often forget in the spirit of the game how horrible an accident would be. The lawsuits would be attrocious and the sport would be severely damaged if situations that could be prevented are not stopped. Last month at our local club (I am Pres.) we had a revolver shooter break the 180 while moving with an opened cylinder revolver. No one could have been hurt but he was stopped, DQ'd and then took to a safe area to be shown exactly what happened and how to prevent it. I personally encouraged him and asked him to please stay and finish the day with us. He gladly did so and exhibited great sportsmanship and an eagerness to learn.
  22. Last year Jerry did his demo here for us in LA at the Gator Classic and S&W donated several guns and had a tryout stand. Anyone could shoot .22's to .500's absolutely free! The same events plus hopefully more are scheduled again this year. TV is good but in person it's even better!
  23. How's it looking so for does it look like we or going to have a full class. Still waiting on a few deposits but probably room for 3 more...I hope it fills.
  24. Several of us here in LA just bought several to put away for build ups later. Everyone here that had previous dealings with them were very positive and suggested that they were one of the better receivers out there.
