  1. I picked up a stainless steel version in .38 super for the dealer price of a glock and I can't be more pleased for the money. The fit was good, the accuarcy was great and the reliability was there so I plan on picking up the 9mm model when they become available again. The first batch or so may have been rough but mine is just as nice as the last Spartan I purchased. With the checkering, ambi's, a good trigger out the box and a good beavertail it's really hard to find more that needs to be done. Other opinions may vary of course, but I'm very happy.
  2. I grew up by Pierre Part and spent a lot of time in Lake Verrett. That show is about as real as it gets. Good people living off the land the way my parents and grandparents had to because there was nothing else. I was fortunate to be able to grow up seeing it and learned hunting, trapping, and fishing from the old ones who did it like that for decades.
  3. Did anybody else see the commercial with just Ian in it? Were there any commercials with just one person that I may have missed?

    Stick shifts

Getting ready to order soon, what's the general consensus nowdays of the best shroud to put it on for an auto?
  5. Heard of that happening before and if I'm not mistaken they replaced the frame. At least worth the time for a phone call.

    My HG Family

Very sweet. Just don't get naked and roll around in them...
  7. It's a compound of nickel ad Tellurium, commonly called Nickel Telluride. In most plating nickel (or Cobalt) is the corrosion inhibitor and something like chrome is used to provide the deep shine. In this case the end result is a black finish the actually penetrates the base metal somewhat (which is why some manufacturers use softer steels if this will be the end finish) and provides a very porous coating that holds oil and lube very well.... G.I. Factory

Like anybody would really try to attack a place like that anyway. Has to be one of the safest places to work in this country, along with the coolest. Anybody that owns owns enough land and planes to perform personal strifing runs is more than capable of protecting his interests....

    OMFG!

    Manufacturer, type, and caliber????
  10. Way cool... Many years ago in college while working offshore we had Navy Seals overtake a platform for training exercises. I imagine they would be a bit rougher to play with though.
  11. Fixed 16 for Mother's Day and inlaws, and just FORGOT to put sauce out, and nobody asked either. Really good steaks don't need that crap....
  12. And there seems to be a pic of it on page 100 of the old Wilson book "The Combat Auto" too. Photogenic and famous at the same time.
  13. I have to wear a back brace for 4 weeks after a small surgery and I keep calling it "The Shatner!" I wonder how many guns I can fit in this thing????
  14. I like being labeled a slightly demented womanizing throwback...
  15. Finally came to me the other day. The my seester jokes (that I should have trademarked well before Larry the Cable Guy)were subconscioulsy planted in my deviant mind years ago by Speedy Gonzales. My monster in law actually got me the sets of all the looney tunes classics, and my little girl loves them.
  16. Scooter, if Wanda Miculek and Gordon Lee can't rust it nothing will. I may try to sink it in the salt water pool for a few days and see what happens. Nothing like a home brewed chemistry set and a summer off, I've been wanting to try this stuff...
  17. Very nice!! I have a bay at home as well. May I suggest some non-falling steel targets? They are great to work drills on and don't tear up your backstop like repeated rounds in small areas through paper targets do.
  18. Just working on the geometry on wheelies, but it shouldn't be long....
  19. Love your slogan. It's not how you shoot, it's how you look!!! That's the way I roll baby!!!
  20. Acyually Scooter Pooter your gun was finished this morning, (I couldn't sleep) E- mailed you the pics because I don't know how to post them, and the wife just left...I don't know about filling Virgil's gap, he is AWESOME, I'm just trying to put 15 years of teaching Chemistry to good use....
  21. that's a start, but I'm sure SOMEBODY already drank it....
  22. Got mine back, LOVE IT.... Nicely done and good texture. The only thing I would change is to apply the texture under the trigger guard as well...
