  1. Can you quote what law you are breaking by modifying your firearm? Frankly, I believe you are the victim of internet nonsense, and are passing it on....
  2. Can you quote even ONE case where someone was prosecuted for a legit shooting because they had modified their firearm?
  3. You don't! The extractor is held in place by a pin, which is usually directly under the position of the RDS.
  4. You gotta admit - bullet setback will never be an issue with brass like that one on the right... LOL! Reloading brass like that would probably be problematic at best, and if using a load that was worked up to near maximun in "normal" brass, very likely dangerous! Good for the scrap brass pile ONLY.
  5. I tried this... and I successfully reloaded ONE primer. Took most of my day! I primed an empty case with the reloaded primer, and then tried to detonate it in a pistol. I finally did get one to "pop" after several attempts. It wasn't very loud though - nothing like a real primer. Didn't try it in a loaded round. I kinda meant to do that, but never was motivated enough to spend that much time on it again. LOL! I would have to be VERY desperate to attempt reloading ammo like that!

  7. ^ What he said... You too will be considered "old and/or frail" someday - if you are lucky enough to get there!
  8. Yes, they replaced mine as well. Good guys at Cajun Gun Works! https://cajungunworks.com/
  9. If it is still under warranty, I think I would have CZ-USA fix it. If it is not under warranty, it is your personal preference. You are right though... I seriously doubt anyone would fire 1000 rounds before calling it "good"... And, who could blame them?
  10. If the hammer doesn't even touch the firing pin, the fp spring can have no effect at all. Does the slide have an extra power recoil spring, while shooting low power loads? Any other reason why the slide might not be fully moving to the rear during recoil and not fully cocking the hammer? If the slide is functioning normally, and fully cocking the hammer before the trigger is pulled, I would suspect the the disconnector needs to be fitted. Have you (or someone else) replaced the original disconnector?
  11. The top fp/fps set came from Cajun. The bottom set was the original fp/fps set from one of my Shadows. I only run the Cajun extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin springs. I use an 11-1/2 lb. hammer spring, and also ensure that ALL my primers are fully seated. I have NEVER had a misfire or needed a second strike.... YET! LOL! Whoops! I forgot about the misfires I started having from a weak fps... OK, other than THAT, I haven't had any misfires or needed second strikes....
  12. Similar, but not exactly. LCN means, "Lead, Conical Nose". Using data for the 125 grain LCN load data will work pretty well with your 125 grain Coated RN Blue Bullets. I have loaded 4.4 grains of HP-38 under another brand of 125 grain coated bullets, without issue.
  13. Do your firing pin springs look like the top one, or the bottom one? The top one has the reduced firing pin spring from Cajun Gun Works, the bottom one came stock in one of my Shadows. The difference is subtile, and it would be easy to mix them up. Cajun had a run of bad firing pin springs a while back, and the only way to find that is by holding the slide vertical, and checking if the spring is holding the firing pin all the way to the rear. (Like I described in a previous post.) One other thing that hasn't been addressed is your high primers. Regardless of primer brand, a high primer absorbs energy that should set off the primer. Seat some primers (FULLY) into empty cases, and try them to see if they fire. If they do, the high primers are your only problem.
  14. I measured a Cajun extended firing pin, and got 2.500". Check to be sure your "problem" firing pin doesn't have a weak firing pin spring. Reinstall it, and point the muzzle end down. Then make sure the rear of the firing pin is lifted above the firing pin stop. If it is flush, or below flush, you have found your problem. Also check for a sacked spring by pointing the muzzle up, and pressing on the rear of the firing pin. If you don't have spring resistance immediately, but you do after it has moved forward (up, in this case), the firing pin spring is bad.
  15. That certainly is a great price. Of course, it doesn't have a highly tuned action, like the higher end SP-01 Shadows. This is the one I thought scroadkill was saying was $750... https://czcustom.com/new-firearms/cz-pistols-custom/sp01-shadow-custom-black.html
  16. Where can I buy a SP01 Shadow NIB for $750?
  17. What diameter are Everglades plated 9mm's? https://www.evergladesammo.com/bullets/handgun-bullets/9mm-124gr-plated-fmj-bullets.html The web site doesn't specify bullet diameter, at least not that I have found.
  18. Years of draw practice pays off! LOL! Also, brilliant minds....
  19. I believe that red "paint" is just a sealer to help keep the anvil positioned properly in the primer cup before it is seated. The anvil is the part with three "legs" that contact the bottom of the primer pocket as you seat the primer in a case. It holds the priming mixture back against the primer cup as it is struck by the firing pin. That is what causes the primer pellet to ignite. It looks like those anvils are fine, and once seated, the anvil will be held in place between the primer pocket and the primer cup. I'd try them to see what they do, but my guess is there will be no difference at all. If I had a large quantity missing the sealer, I would contact the manufacturer to see what they say. Wouldn't want anvils falling out while I was trying to load them!
  20. Plus 1 to that! Several years later, I still have a safety detent for a 75 Pre B hiding out somewhere in my garage!
  21. Unlike others, I don't think the adjustable sear will solve your problem. I would check the detents and spring that are supposed to hold your safety in place. See (copied) photos below: If those are OK, take a look at your safety shaft itself. Perhaps the spots the detents are supposed to click into are worn or damaged...
