Does a comp on a .45 function at 165 pf?
Bill Rosenthal replied to Gallow's topic in Handgun Techniques
My old load... Won "Open C" at Area 8 in '95 with 10 round mags and that load. Was RO'd on a stage by Todd J. Sniffle-sniffle... brings me back a few. Bill -
Heh - Heh - Heh !!!

Most malfunctions are due to ammo problems, not the gun! When you see a gun puke, tis' almost always the case. Just because you can shoot doesn't mean you know how to make ammo! Bill

I'm surprised none of you guy's in the "1911 Single Stack Elitist / Snob Club" jumped at my Mitch Rosen gear. You just gotta have the best to keep up with the rest. When I get a "roundtuit" I'll have to apply... I have photos from Limited Nationals back when it was the only division. One photo of BE, TGO and Douggie together shootin' the breeze. Regards, Bill

I unfortunately, was the guy holding the G22 that Nik had seen blow up! 8.8 of Tite Group will do it. (The first mistake reloading in 30 years.) Bought a new 1050 from BE and was unfamiliar with clearing a jammed press. Glad it was my Glock for several reasons. 1. The polymer frame expanded and helped absorb the shockwave. 2. It wasn't a custom $3000.00 gun! 3. No one got hurt. (Other than the razzing from my "friends") Glock was great. They sold me one for $350. Just tell them the truth... I *&^%#$ up! (Cus' they already know) Bill

Factory mags are best. Dawson has them in stock. Other than factory, Mec-Gar makes a 15rd. that works 100% and at a nice price. They can be found for $20 online... Bill

I just got a new 1100 and want an easyloader installed. Who should I send it to? Thanks, Bill

Hi Guy... You probably don't want to hear this, but you have the wrong model for our type of shooting. The lower-power mini models or the 3.5 larger scope has the longer eye relief needed to keep both eyes open for the close range targets and fast acquisition. Without buying a new scope the add-on dot is the way to go as mounting the scope higher will do nothing to remedy the problem. The other solution is to mount the JP short range tactical sight at an angle on the free-float tube. Bill

West Point 3-Gun

Two days to go! Fort Benning What? -
Can't beat 'em. Have one for some time now and one on the way for my other gun. Wonderful fit and finish. And I happen to like the wolf logo. Bought for shooting hard cast lead at a huge savings for practice and outdoor matches. Bill

West Point 3-Gun
Bill Rosenthal replied to BillL223's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
Create suppressive fire from a tripod mounted machine gun during a stage!!!! Holy Toledo Batman! Guess it's not a USPSA match. Wonder if it's a Ma-Deuce? -
Quoting our Area Director for load and make ready... "Stoke it, stroke it, lick it, stick it." And my personal favorite for load and make ready... "Go 'head." (Used at steel matches... 'cause I can!) Bill

I'm surprised no one mentioned MSTN. (Taran Butler's rifle maker) Sub half minute-of-angle upper with the Quiet comp on it. 17" Lilja barrel, Ion Bond coated stainless. Full length gas system w/a hogged-out bolt carrier. Ultra soft !!! I'll never be able to shoot as good as this gun will !!! Bill

2007 Topton Rifle Match
Bill Rosenthal replied to BillL223's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
Wonderful Match! The house, the run and gun, activators with distance. Match had a nice split between longer shots and CQ. Dawn cleaned the 200yd. flashers! (12 years old) She likes rifle the best! We thank all involved in putting on the match, Bill and Dawn Rosenthal -
Remember this... Remember that... Oh sh-t!

I don't know where they are made, but they're machined really well! Bill

Got my Lone Wolf G22 barrel today from Dillon.... I slapped it in and went to the range. Hit pieces of clay birds at 25 and 50 yards without having to touch the sights at all! Very happy. I just heard that copper is going up big time. I can make 180gr. lead loads for around $70 a thousand. Good enough for practice and the various outdoor matches I shoot. I'll save the jacketed for indoor and major matches! Bill Edited for spellin'

This is much more of a tactical match than anything offered under USPSA. Grey flash targets in the shade of the deep woods @ 75yds., prone on the back of a berm peeking over at MGM mini auto-poppers at 225 yds. while trying to keep yourself up on the berm, running through the woods and shooting with no real backstops, slung loaded firearms, dragging full size/weight dummies to cover. Engaging targets in tac order. MUD! The steam of the hot summer rising off the tobacco fields in the backround! NO F&^&%G WHINING! This is what 3-gunning should be! It's a scope match for the rifle! Not for the faint of heart... And if you want it even harder, go to the NC Recon in October held at the same range. You get to hump all your gear and ammo all day in your backpack, as you would if you were dropped off on a mission! Have fun, Bill

Why have a "Block" when you can have a "Kahr". Great carry guns. Extremely reliable. Bill
