  1. I think your on to something lol
  2. I thought that treatment was only a couple thousand deep?
  3. Yeah I was kinda thinking maybe the brake got over tighten and stretched the metal just enough to make a circular low spot which is causing the leading.
  4. I’m like every body else w-296 is it for hunting loads and I have used a bunch of w-231 with 240 gr. swc at around 8.5 grs for very mild loads . Started using power pistol for in between loads and it’s been a really good fit very accurate.
  5. My Ruger is shooting much better but it may be the loads that’s the difference. If you could get some good quality jhp’s to Try out . I’ve shot 115 and 124 delta precision bullets and got good groups with those.
  6. I’ve had good luck running.356 bullets in all my 9mm, .355 had more flyers when shooting groups during load development so l didn’t get anymore of them.
  7. I’ve been Thur about 20 lbs of sport pistol over the last couple of years and I really liked it with the exception of it being a little dirty burning imo. So I decided to try aa#2 and I ended up liking it more then sport pistol. Accuracy was the same and it was a lot cleaner ,the only negative is it makes a little bit of the corn meal looking stuff but its very minor.
  8. I gotcha I haven’t got into mass production of rifle ammo yet I got some used stuff tool head; dies-for my 1050 to start just done it yet.
  9. Not trying to be a smart mouth but I don’t understand what a m die is for, started loading in the late seventies and all I’ve use is a sizing and seating die. I got a a bolt gun that shoots 1/4 inch groups. I would get ride of the m die unless maybe you are using it for lead bullets. Just size and use a chanfer tool before seating your bullet.
  10. I use a regular set of lee dies with a tapered crimp die on a 1050. I have zero issues using my rounds in my 2011 Kkm barrels.
  11. 147 gr coated your choice over 3.2-3.3 grs of sport Pistol, aa#2, w-231.
  12. I’ve had good results with 4.4 grs of sport Pistol / aa#2 with 124 gr delta p. out of my open gun for steel challenge .
  13. Is it possible that you used a piece of brass that was in a 170 power factor load a few times and was on its last leg lol.
  14. Yes generally lead bullets are one thousand larger in dia. Then a jacket bullets. When you use a lee factory crimp die with lead bullets it’s going the swage it one thousand smaller then it’s supposed to be.
  15. Don’t get the Lee factory crimp die just get a Hornady or lee taper crimp die. The lee fcd will swage you lead bullets down to the size of jacketed bullets.
  16. For my Ruger pcc I’m using a .357 dia. 95 gr r/n brazos 1.025 oal over 3.4 grs of aa#2 . This load is the softest and flattest load that I have run thur my Ruger Pcc. These are for steel Challenge power factor?
  17. I loaded on a 550 for over twenty years and I got a nice used 1050 a couple years ago and it’s really been worth it. It has put the fun back into loading.
  18. Dirt how is the bullet seating with the alpha ,is the bullets setting on the case straight? If it stops the popping and the bullets are fitting the case good I will be wanting one .
  19. I load sitting my loading table is 26” high and I use a adjustable chair. I can see right into the case for powder verification.
  20. Yeah I don’t clean pistol primer pockets either only rifle which I use a cutter and drill motor that uniforms the depth while cutting it, leaves it looking new. I clean my brass with a Lyman vibratory using corn cob /walnut.
  21. I have a 1050 and a 550 and the 1050 is easier, using case lube really helps also.
  22. I used a 1/4” aluminum plate just to stiffen up my mount, my table top is about 26.5” tall I use and adjustable stool to load while sitting.
  23. I’m wanting to try them for steel Challenge no power factor needed,my thinking is they may give a little less recoil/dot movement only way to find out is to try a few.
  24. Teed off what kind of bullets and where are you buying your bullets?
