Thanks for the information HOGRIDER.  I did purchase the gun to shoot both IDPA and USPSA.  I took the gun out to the range today for the first time and it is a very good shooter.

How do you like the grip? Did you get the regular or aggressive? Steel or Aluminum?

Any comparison to other DS 1911 grips?

  2. Quick question - which grams spring/follower kit do I need for my TSO .40 running the 140mm CZ custom base pad? I have two of these setups and two stock magazines that I want to get base pad spring combos for, but forgot if it’s the 11 or 13 spring grams kit I had ordered last year.

Have had my TSO for a little over a year.  No issues at all except for a couple of feed issues with my recent reloads due to COAL and loading mags to 21.  Just got a Dillon 750 not long ago and have been loading my rounds with 4.3gr Titegroup, bbi 180gr bullets, federal brass and CCI primers.  1.125 COAL.

Taking a class with JJ Racaza at the end of September and want to get a few more mag setups In before the class. I’d like to get a CZ custom large magwell in before the class also but they’ve been out of stock for a while.
    FKCL - 11

This is what is recommended from Springer Precision which sells these springs and follower combo with their basepads as a package.40e861696003a3a8462ee9bc43d516fb.jpg

  3. So what is it good for?

Have a 1lb of Power Pistol and plenty of bullets in 9mm, 40 S&W, 38 special, and 45 acp.

Which caliber listed (if any) is it better suited for and what are some of Power Pistols strengths and weaknesses?

  4. Well I shouldn't have found this thread. I just got my first CZ this past year. The Shadow 2. I like it so much that I bought a second one and put the Kadet .22 conversion on it. After seeing some of the weapons in here I see I'm going to be spending a lot of money on CZ products this year.
It's a curse and a blessing. Welcome to the club!

  5. If the mags will get to capacity in 40 S&W at 140mm this is just another great option for limited from CZ. It'll come down to preference as it usually does but for the price, for me, it would be worth it. Excited to get ahold of one for sure.

  6. I've used HP38/231 to load 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, and 38 special. It's versatile, accurate enough, and great all round powder that meters well for me. Not as clean as others but has its benefits. Has a really good recoil feel also. Still my go to for 9mm.

  7. My TS, TSO, and Czechmate all have matching metal triggers. Didn't experience what you did but mine had way too much flex with the plastic ones and just a much better feel with the aluminum ones.

jcc7x7 nailed it.  All of my Gen 1 .40 STI mags have Taran 4g2 base pads.  Some fit the gauge, but a few I had to take a file to just a tiny bit.  With grams springs and followers, all fit 21 rounds and functioned without any need for tuning.
Thanks for the update. Guess I'll grab some 4G2 and same internals and give it a shot.

  9. Hey guys,

just like the title says, I'm trying to figure out what basepads to use with some STI gen 1 tubes.  Everyone has recommended the taran basepads but I have gotten no definitive answer on which size to use for gen 1 tubes to make them fit the gauge; I dont have a gauge myself and don't intend on getting one until I start shooting the larger area matches.  Do I use the 3mm to be safe or do the 4g2 work as well?

So far I am running some gen 1 tubes with grams internals, any help or input is appreciated.
    Thanks all!
Did you end up making a purchase?

Have a couple Gen 1 mags I'm wanting to upgrade and wondering same info.

  10. Just use the ammo as is.  I loaded to 1.126" for my CZ TS and that length worked fine in my 2011.  I experimented with lengths up to 1.180" and saw no difference other that I needed more powder to make major at the longer lengths.  If you switch to a bullet that gives you feeding problems, then load longer.
Thanks to everyone who commented. Appreciate another CZ shooter chiming in.
As long as it stays reliable and accurate in both guns guess I'll keep it.

  11. Newer to 2011's. So after some reading a lot of people seem to be loading long on 40 S&W.

I have a load that I use for my CZ TS/TSO which is obviously short but functions and cycles everything fine in my 2011's.

My question is simply why load long? And what are the benefits for the 2011's if my other load is ultra reliable?

  12. Are jacketed bullets more accurate than plated bullets under the same load or is this just one example? I shoot plated with my TS and never have had problems.

  13. Bullet profile will make a big difference especially in CZ barrels. Loaded Berry's 180 FP to 1.130 and works flawlessly. Now I'm using Everglades plated 180 FPRN and even though 1.130 works I can load longer if I need to.

I had similar issues in my 9mm CZ's though. Using Hornady 125 HAP's I had to go way down to get it to work.
