  1. I hear ya.. I did the egw plate with a burris on my backup slide and it also sits high but not as bad as your DPP Im a production shooter so its hard for me to index with the dot so high. One remedy is hundreds of hours of dry fire but that time can be spent training on other things. My CZ sp01 open gun is running a 90 degree cmore which sits nice and low. I would not be concerned about milling and the firing pin block. @PatriotDefense has this problem figured out
  2. That dot is sitting way too low. I think you need an extension to get it a little higher....
  3. For trigger job 13-14 lb PD hammer springs winchester and federal primers only for 13lb 1 piece sear reduced power sear spring and trigger return spring 18 lb henning plunger spring extended henning firing pin PD optimized firing pin spring A little bit of polishing.
  4. Adjustable rear sight weighs - 1 oz Steel guide rod .80 oz Patriot lightweight guide rod .20 oz Milling for optic should remove a minimum of - .80-1 oz grams follower/spring and Henning extended base + .70 oz What grips on the gun when you weighed it? If aluminum Lok lightweight grips would remove - .5-1.5 oz Stock gun with DPP and extended bases should come in around 47.2 oz - 1 oz sight -.60 oz guide rod -.80 oz milling -.50 oz lok grips Total weight after mods around 44.3 oz and possibly lighter

I have the 8 moa and never had a problem even at Nationals in frostproof last year
  6. Not looking to spend MBX prices for their overrated metal. Options for STI mags or extension to 171.25 mm
  7. Thats great news then. We can remove the rubber sleeve and cut down the mag to 171.25 mm and still have a quality mag. If you get a chance sometime take a picture from the base looking inside with the spring and follower removed.
  8. So it seems that Canyon Creek is out of business. What options are there now to run STI big sticks in a para or rock island? Ill probably post in the classifieds to see if any one has a canyon creek they would like to sell but I doubt it.

    First CZ

A cajunized sp01 is going to run $1,038 also going to need better sights so add another $90 A shadow 2 $1,050-$1,150 depending on your sources. ( you also get an extra mag) The shadow 2 is only going to require a couple springs to have a great trigger. The shadow 2 is by far the best bang for the buck. If IDPA might be your thing then I would skip the overpriced sp01 cajun and get model #91154 its a shadow 1 they go for $880-1k Resale value Good luck getting half your money back for the sp01 cajun Shadow 2 you might loose 10-20 percent in value.
  10. What does the bottom and the inside look like with the spring and follower removed? My worry was I thought it was a standard 16,17, or 18 rd mag with a plastic/rubber base extension. If it has a welded tube and the rubber just covers the mag then this could be another option versus the crappy promag.
  11. I cant find good pictures of the 26 rounders. Do you or any body else have one? Trying to figure out the construction of them.
  12. Thoughts on doing the 510c at 90 degrees?
  13. The shadow 2 is going to feel like a tank compared to the X5. Last year I shot a Walther Q5 and in the fall I switched back to a CZ but a shadow 2 this time. It took months of dry fire and matches before I got use to the weight. 5 months later now and the shadow 2 feels normal. I have my Ifg defiant stock 1 set up for carry optics and its lighter than the shadow 2 but I dont feel a difference switching back and forth. Get what feels right for you but dont think that switching to a lighter gun is going to make a difference in your match scores. Dry fire and live fire training will.
  14. For a few hundred more you could get a CZ tactical sport or a Tanfoglio limited. Both are superior over the Rock Island. I have a Rock island Tac ultra hc 40 that I used for a season but looking back I wish I went with a CZ or Tanfo. I also have a Para p18 Canadian made. The quality is much better than the RI. I cant remember the last time I shot the Rock Island.
  15. I dont think you can go wrong with a Stock 2. Another great option is the IFG defiant stock 1. Plus side is its IDPA legal if you ever want to roll in it. If the nose weight of the shadow 2 is too much then don't bother with the Stock 3 because they feel identical. How long have you been shooting the shadow 2 and what did you shoot before it?
  16. I use the TTI ext bases with CZC spring/follower and Mec-gar 17rd 23 in mag reloadable
  17. Shadow 1 extended mag release correct? The shadow 1 mag release is SSP legal. The part I'm curious about is you have the CZC multi optic cut. Thats a grey area.

    shadow 2 crack?

Area 7 is 3 months away. I would hope you get one back by then. What state you located in?

    shadow 2 crack?

Kudos to CGW for making it right.
  20. All cost are DIY. pro mag cut down with grams or czc guts welded is 2 mecgars $22 ea chopped up plus czc guts If TF makes the 170 bases they would probably go in the $40 -50 range so $80-90 If your even considering a 75 series open build then you should be capable of at least one of these options or pay $180 for the Tanfo option The Tac sport is still the ideal platform for a CZ open build but costs more.
  21. Well said rowdyb. OP: If saving a few hundred dollars overall is not a big deal and the frame fits your hands then the Shadow 2 would be the best choice. One other note. The shadow 2 milled and lightened will have a higher resale value and be much easier to sell then the shadow 1 down the road.
  22. Should be around $80 3 tanfo mags=$540 3 ext cz mags =$240 3 welded mags=$195 3 promags =$135 I know which one I'm not doing
  23. Have you tried a different TRS? Check the sear spring to see if the previous owner forgot to lower it back on to the safety pin which would bend it up when the slide is put on. Check for spots that are getting wear. Your looking for burrs and scratches. Some pictures would be very helpful.
  24. SSP 8.2.1.3 A.... No Externally visible modifications. ( Internal modifications are fine as long as not visible from the outside) Internal removal of material is fine. Esp allows you to do thru cuts for lightening.
