  1. If your going to attempt to shoot 9 major thru the shadow 2 you must run a comp. The shadow 2 was not nato tested with +P+ ammo like the sp01 and shadow 1. I thought about converting a shadow 2 but once I saw the frame cracking issues with guys using minor PF ammo I decided to pass. I converted a SP01 that has been running flawless the last 6k-8k rounds using major ammo.

    DAA insert block

I have a old para (made in canada) and a Rock Island double stack. Which block should I get? The 1911 or the Para. When I go onto Shootersconnection they list para (new model) and 1911 (para old model)
  3. Any major downsides in using RN fmj exposed lead bottom for major?
  4. Just stating what I found with my CZ's and making a recommendation to try. One should always test on their own and take recommendations like a grain of salt.
  5. If you bring it down to 1.14 oal you will be good to go. Also make sure you do the plunk/push/spin barrel test.
  6. If your barrel is reamed/throated than your good. If not then the bullet shoulder is getting very close to the rifling and sticking. It only takes one bullet to cause an issue at a match. The blue bullets FP can be loaded longer than most other profiles but at 1.15 your at max oal. Have you done accuracy testing with some other OAL's? How did you decide on 1.15? In the end if it works for you than have at it.
  7. Best $100 a reloader can spend.
  8. CZ shadow 2 I have loaded 147gr flat point Blue bullet .355 3.1gr titegroup 1.13 oal 132-135 power factor 1.13 oal 3.2gr tite group 134-137 power factor Your load at 1.15 oal should be over 130 power factor. Do yourself a huge favor and get a chrono. You dont need a expensive one. 147gr .355 is not the most accurate in a shadow and 1.15 is a touch long. I highly recommend bringing it down to 1.13-1.14 oal.
  9. Taylor Freelance is still making them. Under rock island Not sure how many extra 45's will fit. 1 maybe 2 Grams follower and spring might add a extra round with extension. I know what these combos will get you in 9mm and 40 but no idea in 45.
  10. The Orange has the same frame and slide as a standard Shadow 2.
  11. Your going to want 11.5 and 13lb hammer springs. The 13 will set everything off with a extended firing pin Extended firing pin with reduced power spring Reduced power trigger return spring Floating trigger pin (will make life much easier down the road) The CZC hammer or the CGW hammer will get you a very light and crisp SA trigger. Are you ever going to use the trigger in DA? If not get a SA trigger
  12. Ask him how clear the glass is and how crisp and bright the dot is.
  13. Something is going on with your reloads. Try a box of factory ammo before you do anything else. It should be shooting one ragged hole at 10 yds rested

    CZ 75B SA

The Rock Island will not get you the accuracy your looking for. Have you tried a Cajun gunworks 10x bushing in your CZ sa yet? The shadow 2 with a 10x bushing will be as accurate if not more than a tac sport orange. Cz barrel lengths are not measured the same as other brands. CZ includes the feed ramp in their measurements. Your 75 SA has a 4 7/16" barrel shadow 2 is 4 5/8" barrel Tac sport is around 5" The shadow 2 can easily be converted to SA only. $160 will get you a flat SA trigger a CGW race hammer or a CZC hammer along with springs and a extended FP. With a little polishing you can easily get a sub 1 1/2lb trigger. With the right springs Ive gotten a CZ with this combo down to 12 ounces. The shadow 2 is the best bang for the buck. The ammo is the most important of all for accuracy. Reloading is a must if you want to get the most out of any gun.
  15. I tried a google search for canyon creek customs but I cant find a website. Does anybody have contact info for Rich?
  16. Thats right. A part that virtually never gets removed.
  17. Are you sure it came out of the shadow 2?
  18. That's the plan. I'm not sure about the 145's. I'll post when I try them. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
  19. Round nose bevel base no lube groove. The biggest issue for a lot of us is the ogive or how long the shoulder is. CZ, tanfoglio and walthers have a very short lede causing us to load shorter than we would like with most coated bullets. I ordered some (100+ lbs[emoji16]) 125 and 145 from you to try out. I can't wait. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
  20. Also interested in the MBX comp. I cant find any reviews on it.
  21. Like I said before the Rock Island is an ok gun however no way would I pay for one all dolled up. Thats like trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. The metal rock island uses is a very poor and low quality cast. If you said you only plan on shooting 5k rounds a year for 2 years than a stock RI will get you by but if your serious in the sport 15-20k per year is a minimum. The rock island is not going to hold up well. The hayes rock island isnt anything special. They make some fancy cuts in the low quality slide and replace some fire control parts. The TSO will last as long as a STI. Do yourself a huge favor and spend a few more dollars on a STI or CZ. Trust me you will thank me later.
  22. https://flscmn.com/ Just north of Minneapolis Not sure on wait list though
  23. Talking about the IFG stock 1 not the old eaa stock 1. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
