  1. Same issue with a Cheely E2 grip. Please do not make my mistake. Fix it before you go any further. I am working on another holster for mine.
  2. So in effect, does that not destroke the gun?
  3. Trying to fit my E2 grip to a Racer holster and the E2 front trigger guard strap is thinner than a STI plastic. They offer an SV insert. Can anyone measure their SV at the thinnest part of the curve on the front of the trigger guard for me? Trying to eliminate that gap.
  4. Nope, even with mag realease "off" or even removed, when I roll my grip around to reach mag release, I can grip it hard enough to hold a mag in, let off and mag falls out.
  5. What area did you have to redo? The E2 tunnel was a little narrow, even for a stock STI, just a few minutes on both sides with a safe side file. I had to reduce the height of the XLine a little as well. One other area that is slightly different is the curvature of the front trigger guard. I am having to reshape my Double Alpha holster to fit this area. Over all, it fit into my CK Frame with zero issues. Nice and tight.
  6. Ha! I quit riding dirt bikes at about 38-40 after being laid up from a crash.... Chasing my son on a hare scramble type run. Life is fatal. None of us get out alive. Just hope a get a long ride out of it!
  7. Rather have my pride, but if it can slow anyone else down and make them rethink some aspect and save their butt, then the sport will be better for it. Just so greatfull I was not at a match. Solvability, it only got a chip. Ortho appt first thing tomorrow. Actually went to work half day today. The guys in the shop we're real comedians as you can guess. Known most of them most of my life.
  8. Very true and very understandable! You can be damn sure I will not push that hard for a long time , let alone in a match. I can make time up in other areas. Trust me, my foot will heal before my pride. Safety and a safe draw will be Paramount to my continued USPSA careeer.
  9. Shoot yourself in the foot one time and you are marked for life .... Irony??? The cop who took the report was missing a finger from a self inflicted GS...
  10. I did not really know where to post this, but since a lot of us practice alone I wanted to post up some safety thoughts. We all hope it never happens to us, but what if you get shot during practice wethor you are alone or with a buddy? Develop a plan! Have a good medical kit. Include blood stopper. Have good directions to your range. Have a good address Make sure any guests have the address Range bag. Identify externally what pocket medical supplies are in. A red Cross stitched to pocket etc. This will save valuable time. Notify all guests where Emergency kit is. Leave all gates unlocked so emergency personnel can reach you. Have a card with your info and blood type in your range bag in the medical pocket. Have these in your wallet. Keep cellphone on your person. I am sure others can add to this thread. Please do.
  11. I was with a buddy , but normally shoot alone. I have family that lives on the same property as my range. First thing I did was dropped mag and made clear. Then told my buddy what happened We packed up, and I purposely left shoe on. Range is about 25-30 minutes from hospital. I knew we would make it to hospital before ambulance got to us. My range is on top of a small mountain and on an unimproved road. I drove the Jeep off the mountain down to the road and then we switched. He drove to the hospital. I posted up really as a distraction for me! I have pretty good pain management skills and the key is to refocus on something else. I do keep a medical kit with me including blood stopper. Blood stopper is in all my shooting bags. Blood never came out of my shoe and I knew the shoe was keeping pressure on things so I left it on. Leave gates unlocked, Have a good address or directions to your range. Keep you cellphone on your person. If you bring a buddy, make sure he has the address in case you are out of it. Keep a medical kit. I am sure others can add to what to do after an accident.
  12. Geppert X Line convex. Did not require much . Just a few minutes.
  13. Complete retraining and rethinking! Ken
  14. Thought you weren't going to mention it! Wife says I am grounded .. scolding me every time I get near my gear... Bluedevil008 what holster did you switch to?
  15. Yes it is. But untill that match, I had never even seen one or heard of one! Got plenty of time now to read the rule book!!
  16. Got DQ'd for drawing in a Cooper Tunnel. Missed the pre match meeting because RO asked me to move my truck to give more room for people to walk. They also did not go over it in the stage breifing because I guess they went over it in prematch meeting. Hell I had never even saw a Cooper Tunnel and thought it would be much safer to draw once in position. Oh well, no biggy. Safety first regardless!
  17. Hey, it was the distraction I needed! It was quite the experience. The guy taking my shoe off was scared to death my toes would fall out when he got it off. The guy cutting my sock off stabbed me with the scissors. Serious! I honestly have a stab wound a out 3/16" long! Then the cop that took the report had 4 fingers. Shot one off with a 357! All joking aside. I have been getting ready for the NC and TN state matches this week. I was so stoked because I have actually been dry firing and live practicing my ass off!(well, maybe my toes...) Been turning in some A and Master scores and times on some classifiers have set up at my range. And these times we're not at the end of the day but cold, when I first got there. That is lesson #3 for me. Temper your drive to master something with the safety to allow you to continue.
  18. Not sure if one could be fitted. Pretty sure it can. Honestly though, this was my fault and not the grip
  19. Precision Delta 124 HP at 175 PF. Grace of God it didn't hit bone . It did chip a piece, so that sucks for healing real quick. Pretty much centered between second and third toe. Pretty nice flesh wound. Honestly, the damn shots in the digits hurt about as bad... I have a serious issue with pain meds not working, so the stitches really sucked. Doc said "wow, you weren't kidding were you." He said they get people in all the time claiming that just to get more drugs.
  20. At home. Replaying everything in my mind and trying to be honest with myself, here is my thoughts on how it happened. Trigger guard is I believe a little narrower than the STI. It allows a little movement side to side of the gun. I believe this was what created the snag. #1 Mistake. Should have had a perfect fit to holster before e er going live fire!!! Hands at surrender, turn and pivoted on right foot. Hand came down, straight down but I was very high on beaver tail instead of under beaver tail. I believe when I did this it disengaged the safety. Was really trying to push my draw times and "explode" out of the draw. When I snatched the gun up, holster jerked up too and I believe then because I snatched so hard, when it came free, finger went into trigger guard and BAM! #2 Mistake. Know when to stop and forget about saving the draw and continuing.(Ego gets in the way here.) There are times you can recover from a mistake , but if safety is compromised... DON'T. Just Stop! Already catching hell from family and in a way, rightly so. This is a dangerous sport and just last year there was a ISPSA death from a draw fire that I am sure some of you remember. I will forever be one of "those guys" now but by sharing, I hope it helps someone, espey those that are new to the sport!
  21. You are exactly right. In the end this is my fault. Just be aware of position I was doing g a turn and draw from surrender position , believe I came in straight down on grip and disengaged with safety going straight in. Just hope someone else reads this and evaluates their technique. Signing out for awhile, no excuses guys, Examine your technique, be HONEST with yourself, and BE SAFE!
  22. Nobody wants to be that guy! I do have some pointers that I will post up later. One thing that I will post up now is pay attention to the angle of your gun in the holster. Angle it in a way that minimizes the chance of hitting your leg in case of an AD. Mine is pretty much straight down, the turn and draw might have alterd my position I am sure
  23. Right handed, spinning right, had A bad draw, and must have hit safety going into the grip. Holster hung on to the pistol some how. The E2 grip fit the holster a little different. I had been having a great practice session. Was pushing real hard and hits were really good. The grip really is great and was loving the added weight. I had spent all evening yesterday doing my safety checks and dry firing. Set the trigger pull to about 2.5 lbs. Was a little worried about a pinned safety. Honestly I do not believe that was a factor. In the end, this was my fault!
