Got hypercomp compact last week put about 275 rounds and no malfunctions at all. Everything west smooth like butter. 115gr, 124gr, 147gr, federal hst 147gr, ran like a champ.

What is the guide rod spring weight on this pistols? Is it 18lbs like glock 19 out of the factory?

    Thanks

    G

Yes, 18lbs. All Zev compacts run that same weight.

  2. Looking forward to your first impressions. I’m trying to decide on this or scraping the Timney and going with Johnny’s full Evolution kit. It’s the lack of a positive reset that’s I can’t get past.

I managed to get one of the tungsten grips and they very much balance out the gun if you put a GS pure tungsten guide rod in it. Actually had to up the recoil spring weight by a pound or two when I added the two.

I also wouldn’t hold my breath on the 34 length slide anytime soon either. They told me slightly over a year ago that they were redesigning it when they canceled my 30 day old order for one. Have one of the last nonKC 34’s they made I think.

I assume they are selling everything they can make, and branching out in collaborations with companies like Sig, that their R&D/Competition department isn’t the priority. Stinks for us but business wise I get it.

USCSBarney, what recoil spring weight ended up working best for you?

TACCOM 1016 barrel can use any bolt with out modification, unless you want to use the super feed option.....then its a simple matter of sending the bolt into TACCOM for a free modification. The bolt can still be used with pretty much any blowback barrel on the market. Except the shooting innovations barrel. They actually use the original feed ramp we developed over 2 years ago. We went on to an improved design of that feed ramp......still a good ramp, we just decided that there was a way to make a ramp that didn't involve modifying the bolt.

Yes sir, thank you for the response. We actually spoke on the phone a few days ago. Your barrel was my first choice, but unfortunately you don’t offer a 10.5” barrel. I already have a brekke handguard and 6” comp so I am married to those for this project.

Please let me know if you can accommodate that as I Would definitely buy one.

  5. Does anyone have experience with the Shooting Innovations ramped barrels?

I am piecing together a PCC for some local USPSA and 2-gun matches. Looking for a 10.5” to work with the 6” Brekke muzzle brake I already have. I also want to try a ramped barrel to try and forgo any feeding issues.

I did. I've been shooting pistol for a while, so I didn't get much out of the first videos. But, I must say it is good to stop and focus a bit on the basics. It's good material. I got to the shotgun vid and had to stop while I waited for my equipment to arrive. I tried doing quad loads on my unmodified M3K and found it to be extremely frustrating, so Saturday morning I got up and removed a lot of material from the loading port. It made all the difference in the world. On Sunday I finally got around to mounting my Invictus 12 round shell caddy to my belt. Previously I was picking up the stacked dummy rounds from a table, but grabbing them from the shell caddy also makes a huge difference. I  need a lot of practice, but at least I know I'll to figure out the quad loads. Before I hacked out my loading port I didn't think I'd ever me able to get it. Long story short, I haven't spent enough time on the training videos. I'm also getting my rifle reloading system up and running, so that's taking a lot of time as well. I'll get back on it soon.  I have found a lot of great resources on YouTube as well.  Here's a photo of my gun smithery...

That looks good to me, especially for a diy job.

I think I’ll spring for the dry fire as well. Joe seams to put out pretty solid content on Instagram.
