  1. He’s Dancing The Night Away in Panama, Jumping and Runnin’ With The Devil. He’s no longer Hot For Teacher, and he Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love. Jamie’s Crying in her Dreams because he never Finished What He Started.

Sad to see the good ones go.

  2. I have a JP (actually 3 JP’s), my best friend has an F-1. The F-1 is way cool, but kind of a novelty, the JP is just built to run hard. If you build a quality rifle yourself you will probably end up using a lot of JP parts.

  3. I’ve loaded literally tens of thousands of 9mm range pick up brass on a 650, and crimped pockets are just not an issue. Sometimes you might feel a little extra resistance on the prime stroke, if it’s excessive, don’t force it. Don’t over think it, it’s just not an issue. Now when you move to rifle rounds it’s a different story.

  4. I’m at a loss how this happens. I’ve popped a few primers in the primer station (maybe going too fast and hit a non swaged piece of brass and forcing it), but that’s two inches from the primer stack with no direct contact. I’ve heard of this numerous times, but still can’t understand how it happens. Can anybody enlighten me?

  5. More than likely they are stalling in order to move their current stock of 1050’s. They anticipated selling out much sooner than they did, however people quit buying the 1050’s in anticipation of the 1100. So if you guys waiting on an 1100 will go ahead and buy a 1050 we might get the new machine quicker!

Do you realize that the topic is still relevant - and you added nothing useful to it?

It was a simple question. I realize some people like to up their post counts by reviving old threads. I agree it might still be relevant, but in that case it might be best to start a new conversation.

  7. Both are good powders.  With 135gr Blue Bullets, N330 was slightly more accurate.  N320 seems to burn pretty clean by the time I hit 130PF or so, but N330 was pretty dirty up until I hit 140PF.  Because of this, the load I would settle on for N320 has slightly less recoil than the load I would settle on for N330.  Neither powder should hold you back.

Do you realize your answering a question that was asked 15 years ago?

  8. I have a junior shooter (he’s 16) I am going to start mentoring in January. He will need to put together a belt rig and since mine are all Safariland, I’m sure he would be interested in building one like mine. If you are interested in donating it to him I can get you in touch with his dad, or I would give it to him myself. Just let me know, thank you

  9. As has been said many times, there are only 2 kinds of shooters, those that have been DQ'd and those that will. I went 32 matches, over 180 stages before my first, which was yesterday. 2nd shooter, first stage. Shooting though holes in walls and narrowly slits. Zipping right along, moving backwards and to my left (right handed shooter), and I broke 180 bigly during a reload! So there's something I'll think about long and hard. Better still I drove 3 hours and spent money on a hotel. Let's just say it was a long ride home!

Been there done that, twice. That’s why I avoid moving left reloads like the plague! I now plan my stages so if possible all reloads are while moving right or forward!

  10. Shooting 3gun with longer shots I have found that 55’s work great to about 200, farther than that I use 77’s. RM3G is the perfect example. I carry different mags with each and change as needed. No need the shoot a 77 at a hoser target, but you WILL have better luck using them at longer ranges.

  11. If you are primarily shooting bay matches with short range targets I might suggest a red dot type of sight. If you will be shooting field matches and reaching out to targets a good 1-6 would be perfect. Of the 3 you mentioned, I would choose the Burris. I shoot with a Burris 1-4, and sometimes I wish it were a 1-6 or even better a 1-8.

  12. I once never cared about powder, and thought I would never try such a gourmet powder such as N320, but the Obamascare years gave me no choice - at one point it was the only powder available.  I am glad I tried it and used it exclusively for years in the past regime. : ) it is very comfortable to shoot, and I have more than one occasion shot my TG loads and N320 back to back to find (surprisingly) that N320 (for me) shoots a drastically titer group (pun intended).

Like Postal Bob I use TG to plink and N320 at matches.
My calcs show half a cent difference too.  I save about $190 per year shooting TG.  Even at half a cent $190 is still $190.
I have gotten so comfortable with the impulse of TG that it feels weird going to another powder.  Another powder that isn't N320 that is.

Calc out how much you shoot in a year and that puts things in better perspective.
If they were the same price heck yeah I would use N320 all day long and twice on Saturdays.

You shoot 38,000 pistol rounds a year and you are worried about $190? Shaking my head!!!
