    SWC 9mm

when the time comes to order, i'll try those Bayou offerings... they look good, and come in gold color!

    SWC 9mm

I've never tried SWC projectiles in 9mm, who offers them coated and how well do they shoot/feed?
  3. i haven't heard of them but they're most likely more of the same. I see black coating in their photos but only see red to choose..... much prefer black!
  4. i have heard that HS-6 works better on the hotter side (and typically with magnum primers), so im thinking another powder may be better for more softer target loads in 38 spl.
  5. well if you're happy and it meets your needs, why not? but we all know there are other options available! would you find another powder you like more? probably but why go down that rabbit hole if you're already satisfied. i mean, if you want to make things a simple as possible just stick to TG. I wish i would take my own advice, but i like to try a variety and then finally choose my favorite.....and typically over complicate things in the process (working on that).
  6. anyone try it with the heavier 147gr bullets? im seeing published data for 3.7gr - 4.2gr with the 147 XTP bullet.
  7. I would experiment with what you have first, start with HS-6 5.7grs and see how they do.
  8. I've never personally loaded 38 SPL with either of those powders, but according to Hodgdon published data... HS-6, start at 5.7gr (max is 6.3) AutoComp, start at 4.8gr (max is 5.3) I have used HP-38/231, and loaded 4gr with 158gr SWC --seems to be a popular load, but appears to be over Hodgdon's published data so you may want to start around 3.5gr.
  9. i stand corrected, i have nearly 5K FMJ/CMJ in 9mm from MG, forgot about those orders. I got some reloading to do!
  10. good news, was able to get in touch with Eaggleston and canceled my order. i realized that i still have a lot of 9mm projectiles left (well over 2000) so will go through these first before placing another order. I was worried about the election that i had rushed that order and didn't even check to see how much i currently had.
  11. im only shooting these right now in a G17 with KKM barrel, and G43 with stock barrel so may need to just slug the barrels... which ive never done before. ive tried contacting Eaggleston to see if i could switch the order to .356 but ive yet to hear back.
  12. Thanks guys! Yeah I saw this range online just the other day --looks interesting. I would imagine they would let me setup the chronograph.
  13. Do you guys see much difference between .355, .356 and .357 ? I had placed a big order from Eaggleston and didn't think much of it but had ordered .357, which im not sure if ive ever tried beyond .356 before so not sure how well they would work in my glocks. I think they recommend the thicker dia... but may depend on the gun.
  14. Hi. I'm from the Dallas/Mesquite area. I've been lurking the forum off and on for quite some time. It has great reloading info and that's primary reason I'm here. I've been reloading for the past few years now and recently upgraded to an RL550B. I'm trying to perfect my loads and narrow down my powders, gets overwhelming with so many powders I have to choose from. I need to find a range that I can setup the chronograph so I can figure out PF instead of just guessing, etc. I look forward to learning!
