  1. This exactly...^ CZ needs to get their crap together. This gun was built to the specs/requests of their IPSC shooting team and obviously CZ has a large interest in the US equivalent of USPSA. The fact that they don't already have 2000 in the states is borderline foolish, and at a minimum dumb.
  2. I would say yes... as long as you are installing and talking about running it with the "extended safety" that comes with it but not shipped already on. The extended safety is a bit larger than the stock safety on the 1 but is only on the left/one side extended (which left hand shooters are likely not pleased about but I love it just sticking out on one side). I noticed when comparing with the S1 that the "ledge" is a bit larger and really allows even more of your thumb to "ride" the lever... for those who shoot it that way. I think you'll find it better Bucky but I'm not sure how much your missing the S1 by.
  3. I just heard back from CZ USA that "the status is pending". your best guess as to what exactly that means. Here's my glass half full and glass half empty assumptions: half full = the form has been sent to the USPSA BOD and status is pending. half empty = CZ USA is still assessing/waiting to verify minimum requirements have been met and status is pending. Personally, I like trying to be a glass half full kind of guy so I'm going with that assumption or until I hear otherwise.
  4. Good to know about these things. Thanks! By the way I just looked at your profile... you shooting the Ramah match this weekend? Always good to put a face to the name. I'm surprised we haven't bumped into each other at matches over the last year. - Joe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Depends on the state. Where I am, Colorado, 15 is the law but larger mags are grandfathered in if owned prior to the law going in. They also allow for "repair kits" to be bought because of how the law was so poorly written. I won't go further into the political debate but that is how it is. So, no need for mag block or permanent modifications here. Other states like the Communist state of California though... not so lucky.
  6. Yeah. where there's a will there's a way.... or something like that. right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'm in a 15 rd state so I can't get my hands on those nickel ones. Which sucks because if nothing else I would like to compete with those because there are a lot of local CZ shooters but none who run those. Would be easy to know my mags at a glance with those.
  8. Here's one... http://benstoegerproshop.com/gun-parts/cz/magazines/
  9. Hahaha! Makes sense though. Thanks!
  10. Cool! Thanks for the reply. All of my mecgar mags are the "rounded gap at the top of the spine". I haven't had any crack, just plenty of spreading, so I would agree that they sound better than the others. On this topic, what do you use to get them back to tolerances? Hard surface??? Tools?
  11. Are they not just the mecgar mags that have been around for a while now? I'm curious because I have worn out the feedlips on a few 1 year old mecgar mags. Granted, I beat mine up at plenty of indoor matches and practices... but stronger mag construction would never be a bad upgrade. Thanks!
  12. I did as well... so now we play the waiting game... again.
  13. As far as I'm concerned this post covers it and in a very succinct fashion. only thing I'll add is a note due to where I'm at with my own development... I have been at the USPSA game for a year, had plenty of shooting experience prior but nothing like this sport... much more tactical Timmy stuff (go ahead and make your jokes gamers, I'm with you know ?). I've found along with practice that I am still experiencing particular aspects of stage design or target arrays for the first time. If I Mike something up or handle it wrong I file that into my practice bank and work on it... like said in the post I quoted. The other thing I also do is only beat myself up for so long, just long enough to learn from it. Something I learned actually outside of this game but it very much applies to it is this... you need to fail and experience everything that comes with it due to pushing yourself. This is the place where you will learn the most when you are aware of what "you" are doing. I believe the awareness part is a portion of what Mr. Enos talks about in shooting with an awareness and being in the moment. Anyway... I chalk everything up to a learning experience, even my better matches, and always strive for continuous improvement.

  15. Update 1... to my stock S2 (post CZ custom enhancement package I mentioned in an earlier post). I replaced the 13lb hammer spring with a CGW 11.5lb hammer spring. I then swapped to the extended safety (the one they send with the gun but not installed). I then put in the CGW reduced power trigger return spring and floating pin. The double action pull weight has dropped from 7.5lb to 6.25lb. The single action went from 3.5lb to 2.75lb. I did notice that the CGW TRS does make the SA feel a little "mushy" but I compared to my accushadow and the consistency is very similar. I may swap back to the original TRS but need to shoot it more first. First function check (outside the obvious ones I did already) will be to see if with these modifications will it consistently make my CCI primers go bang. Any thoughts on the mod's or experience at those weights and CCI's?
  16. Back up is great if you're committed to the 2 already. I'm gonna give it a while and see but man do I love my S1 accushadow... I don't expect to go back to the S1 but I'm not ready to commit to the point of a back up S2 already either. I'm more than happy letting the S1 be back up for a while. Keep in mind, I still only got my 2 last week and only have about 500 rds through it.
  17. Have any of you guys replaced the rear sight on the shadow 2 yet? I'm thinking of replacing mine. I am not a fan of the stock one so far. I'm open to suggestions as to what one to get as well. I always liked the fixed competition one that the shadow 1 had.
  18. Hey RowdyB! Why were you not involved in design of the S2? More checkering the better. Couldn't agree with you more. Although what is on the S2 is an improvement on the S1... so baby steps I guess...
  19. +1 on the different feel and I might add that with the added weight in the front of the S2 I feel like that is also helping with any muzzle rise. I haven't run any side by side comparisons yet with my S1 nor would I say it's drastically reduced my splits but it does "feel different".
  20. Makes sense. Thanks! I already have all the parts at home since I had them as backup parts for my S1 so I think I will give it try. Thanks again guys! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Got ya. I already have the competition hammer from CZC though as that was part of the work they did. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I got mine post CZC work that they offer when buying the gun. I feel like the issues you seem to be having don't exist in mine. I still haven't done anything additional yet either. Oh, no, it isn't magically feeling like my 1 that has 20,000 rds through it. But I suspect a certain amount of the difference is the "break in/rd count". I am thinking of dropping to the 11CGW spring and putting their reduced power TRS in as well. Any opinions on doing that? I don't want to make it a "federal primer only" gun so want to be careful as I make changes. I mainly run CCI primers now.... cuz availability Murica!!! Thanks!
  23. Mag dumps absolutely have a place in building trigger control at speed. A buddy of mine and I (who are both B shooters but not far from A) made the jump from being able to track our sights and "see everything" at .40 splits down to .20 splits by mainly just mag dump and bill drill runs at closer distances. I will note you should do all of this on the clock so you can really see the times. I also hardly ever shoot anymore without a timer. Continue to work on the mental state being on the timer since you always will be on the timer during a match. I feel like I should add you absolutely need to pay attention to fundamentals and can't just cheat the speed. My same buddy and I practice a good deal together and talk about dry fire practice as well. My guess is he does as much as I do and that is about 2000 rds a month of practice and roughly 15 minutes of dry fire a day. As Ben says, "you have to put in the work".
  24. Can others comment here??? I would like to know a definitive process that should be followed when both RO and Scorer are doing their jobs. I am not an official RO but my understanding of how the RO and Scorer should work together is this: The RO is responsible for watching the gun, essentially everything the shooter is doing manipulating the gun throughout the COF to insure no safety rules or COF rules are broken. The job of the scorer is to watch for things like foot faults or target infractions like FTSA or to many shots on a target in a Virginia count stage for example. We all see a lot of scorers these days doing none of that and scoring while the shooter is advancing forward but all CRO's I know say that is a big dereliction of duties and that should not be done. I'm very interested in getting certified as an RO so I'm also interested to hear some thoughts here. Thanks All!
