  1. Slide was not returning to battery due to a bent ejector. They also replaced the extractor as that was out of spec.
  2. Yeah because who knows...maybe your friends need a free Dawson t shirt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just received my DVC open back after some other warranty work...not a cracked slide. Total turnaround was about 3 weeks. STI paid the shipping both ways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have an SA range officer in 9mm and also an STI Trojan in 9mm. The chamber on the RO is WAY tighter than my STI. The STI will run any ghetto ammo I throw at it but the RO is very picky about being sized and crimped property. All my QA rejects get shot for practice thru the STI. 5. I got a CK a week ago. It is indeed very tight, but broke in quickly. The chamber is very short, so ive sent the barrel to Matt who is reaming it out for me. Should have the barrel back next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Grandpoobah, The gun was not racking when completely empty (no mag, no ammo whatsoever). Sorry if I poorly conveyed the nature of the problem. When I removed the ejector, it racked fine. My diagnosis, since confirmed by STI, was that the ejector was either not fitted correctly or bent. STI replaced the ejector and now it is running properly. Additionally they identified the extractor as being out of spec (too long) and replaced that as well. The same 9mm major ammo I was using as the problem described above was developing is now working flawlessly in the factory repaired gun. Dan
  7. 10 bucks is to ship it back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes. I reached out to Matt Cheely... he will take care of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Ok, so I reached out to Matt Cheely directly regarding the short chamber on my gun. He responded to my email within 5 minutes. He said to ship the barrel, a dummy round and 10 bucks and he would take care of it next day. Fantastic service! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Seems like I need to get the throat reamed.
  11. The longest COAL that will plunk is 1.104". I too am running 6.9 gr WAC @ 1410. I am hesitant to load to 1.104" at this power factor...seems that would spike the chamber pressure.
  12. The pulled bullet does not show a crease where the case rim is, so I do not believe it is over crimped. I did some plunk testing and it seems the throat is VERY short...longest COAL I could get to plunk is 1.104". This is with Montana Gold 124 gr JHP. I have some Precision Delta 124 JHP that I could try as well.
  13. Yes, same thing, sorry if I used the wrong word.
  14. I see no evidence of bullets hitting the comp. The gun locks up very tight...I can put a piece of paper in between the comp and the end of the slide and then let the slide close, if that's what you meant?
  15. This is not the case. Comp is on tight and the screws are tight.
  16. Mine is 9mm. 300 rounds down the pipe and loving it.
  17. No, got it from an online dealer.
  18. What headstamp? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I believe so. I switched to the 90* mount also because it puts the dot closer to the bore. I've found that it's easier for me to pick up the dot now that the dot is closer to where irons would be...as I'm coming from iron sighted gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks Matt...will give that a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I just got mine this week. I'm really happy with the fit and finish. Locks up super tight, as in really friggin' tight! I am really liking the steel grip. Adds some weight and is very sharp/grippy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. So I picked up a CK Arms Hardcore recently. I also have an STI DVC Open which will be moving to backup duty. The CK is very well finished and locks up super tight. As in, when I first tried to rack the slide I was like WTF? I've got about 200 rounds thru it now...it still locks up tight but has become much easier to rack. So far I'm 100% impressed with this gun over the DVC. Here it is: Since I already have one open gun, it seemed logical that I'd want to be able to run the same load in both. You know, in case I need to bring the backup into action...right? What I am seeing is the load that runs great in the DVC is tumbling out of the CK. Actually only about one in three bullets are tumbling. I suppose the obvious answer is work up a load for the CK and take enough of both loads to run a match. Not ideal but doable. For reference, I'm running 6.9 gr of autocomp under MG 124 gr JHP at 1.150". This makes 1416 fps in the DVC and 1410 fps in the CK. Any idea to get the bullets to stop tumbling from the CK? 23. This ended up being the solution. Received the gun back from STI yesterday. Talked to the gunsmith who worked on. He said the ejector was bent so he replaced it. While running some test rounds he was having some failures to extract. He found that the extractor was too long so he replace that too. Said he then ran 6 mags with no issues. This morning I took it out and was able to run 150 rounds without issue. Seems like both problems are resolved. I'm pleased with the service from STI...they paid for the two day air both ways and got the gun fixed in about three weeks. Ryan and Brandon kept me up to date on progress thru the repair process. 24. 9mm...already have a DVC open 9 which will move to backup duty. Can't wait for the CK! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. No. Its back with STI right now getting fixed...then it will be a backup gun. Hoping to have both in the range bag for the SNS400.
