  1. Just a bump for those on the fence about going, I took the class with Max and Travis about three years ago in Texas and it cost me alot more then $500.00. It was by far the best money i have ever spent in this sport! I learned so much from them that i was able to put to use immediately. Two great guys in this sport and both of them good people. If you are on the fence i suggest you jump off and get your feet wet.
  2. Flex, First off............Duh! Second........tomato juice and beer mixed is a must drink for a South Dakotan! Seriously they drink that stuff heavy up there..................... Oh ! last but not least..................DUH! Marc
  3. Docter will not fit but the optima and old fire sight are the exact same! I dont know about the Burris or trijicon?
  4. Doug, I am sorry for your loss and pray that you find strength to cope with such a devistating moment in your life, I said moment because in the general scheme of life this will be a moment in time, you will search for answers and spend many lonely days lost in confusion but one day it will be clear, It is just life and if the god you pray to didn't think you were strong enough to handle it he wouldn't have let it happen. So push on my friend and know that this board has given me an outlet for some much needed compassion myself, And i will be there for you if you need to talk or get a cup of coffee or whatever. Your Friend, Marc Brock
  5. This is old but i re-read it and still laughed so i thought i would send it around! Pocket Taser Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. This was submitted by a guy who purchased his lovely wife a "pocket Taser" for their anniversary. Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 22nd anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Toni. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized taser. The effects of the taser were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety.... WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button AND pressed it against a metal surface at the same time, I'd get the blue arch of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. Awesome!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Toni what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two AAA batteries, right?!!! There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing out on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, taser in another. The directions said that a one second burst would shock and disorient your assailant; a two second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a three second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting the batteries. All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4" in circumference; pretty cute really and loaded with two itsy, bitsy AAA batteries) thinking to myself, "no possible way!" What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best ... I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side as to say, "don't do it master," reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad. I decided to give myself a one second burst just for the heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and HOLY MOTHER, WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!!! I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs. The cat was standing over me making meowing sounds I had never heard before, licking my face, undoubtedly thinking to herself, "do it again, do it again!" Note: If you ever feel compelled to "mug" yourself with a taser, one note of caution: There is no such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself. You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor. A three second burst would be considered conservative. A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), collected my wits (what little I had left) sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. How did they up get there??? My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs.
  6. Also I talked to Gary Smith last week and the new .40 S&W mags should be ready for delivery in April Did he say April of what year. That is the one thing that has really turned me off about Caspian. I was going to buy one from Matt a while back but you should not have to jump through so many hoops to get mags. That being said I'd go with the Caspian not the Glock for open you have way more options on what you can do with it. Jon, Caspian has 9mm/.38 super mags in stock and if you want a bigstick Jim Anglin will take 2 mag bodys and build you a 170mm magazine that holds 29 rounds...........Which gives you a useable open gun platform. As far as Limited goes, Caspian has been dedicated to producing a quality magazine for their High cap frame.......And Gary is giving a delivery time of April which tells me they are really going to show-up...........I would not be surprised if it was not until May or June because of manufacturing glitches and whatever else is in volved with a new magazine design and production...............but i would be shocked if it didnt happen at all....................The proto-type mags he has that they are building the new ones from have been used in competition and the research and developement has been done to provide us the end user with a quality, usable magazine.................Yes it has been way to long to wait but Gary took a hard line on quality and all of us who have been waiting will be thankful when it's over! I hope this helps you.....................And maybe disspells alot of rumors that have been flying around about not being able to get mags for a High Capacity Caspian. Marc
  7. Damn!..................That rainbow bridge passage is killing me!..................I get caught up looking for the right words!........I wish i could say what you need to hear to take the pain from you friend....But as much as we are friends i can't .......and that's what hurts! Marc
  8. You should shoot a Caspian before you let anyone tell you about what YOU like in a gun. because the truth is your only going to get advise from all of us, who will tell you what we like , and try to convince you that you should like them too! I have 2 Caspian High caps and Love them , They feel completely different to me then a Polymer frame 1911/2011 ......And worlds different then a Glock.........And i will say that the Magazine thing has been an issue in years past for Caspian but that is no longer a problem!.........They have 9mm/.38super mags in stock and they come factory with a 19 round capacity .........Also I talked to Gary Smith last week and the new .40 S&W mags should be ready for delivery in April so now those of us who have Limited guns can scrap those junky Pro-mag conversions and finally compete with a good magazine platform! You really need to Shoot a Caspian and get a feel for it before you let any of us advise you of what you like in an open gun! P.S. Jake Divita (spelling?) Has shot my Caspian Limited gun and I'll bet he would give you his thoughts on how they feel to draw, reload, and swing! Lipstick on a pig!
  9. Paul, EGW rocks there ass off my friend i have 2 old School Caspian High caps that George did and the Checkering is unreal sharp and deep! 25 LPI and it is awesome! My advise is to go with someone who has been doing it for years!.......EGW my 2 cents Marc
  10. Sorry DannyBoy, It is amazing how we get so attached to our animals!...........Especially one you have had for that long! Sorry Buddy, Marc
  11. Yeah your right about all that..........but what about that offensive line never budging!..............That Jake was a thing of torment for the Monsters of the midway!.............I have been quiet for awhile but i have been watching your posts and damn if aren't a colts fan!............GO COLTS!
  12. It's me my fast friend!..................I have made it out the other side of a bad divorce where i got nothing and payed for all her new stuff!..........With all the stuff i used to own.............But boy am i happy to be rid of her........lol..................But seriously I made it and I am on a mission to shoot and be happy!............so what's up Bro ?.........where are we shooting next...? P.M. me
  13. And slop like that field was takes away most of the elements of the game. If you had only one day to test drive a Ferrari, would you want to do it on a track covered in mud and slime? No doubt some kind of game can be played in the rain. It just leaves unanswered who would have won if the quarterbacks and running backs could actually grip the football. You are not talking about a race for ferrari's you are actually talking about a MONSTER TRUCK JAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY be THERE!...............So in answer to your question No !.....But you show-up with your Ferrari in the mud because i will be there with Grave digger!!............lol Da Colts!
  14. No I'm not. The Colts did a great job yesterday and deserved their win. However; football should be played outdoors regardless of the weather. Yesterday's game was glorious. And a big WELL DONE! to the fans who stuck it out in that downpour. We can agree on that!.............football should be played outside!.......Did you get a look at our new dome ?.........the damn lid rolls back to let the weather in if you want!.............but i'll bet you it never works on game day ...................lol
