  1. Thank you for the info on the Safariland holder. I wanted a separate small holder for slugs too so that's perfect. I have some esstac as well as other mfg velcro cards right now. They've been fine but are a little slow to load compared even compared to my relatively slow double (and quad) loads. Does gunner solutions or other vendors of the ez8 ever have sales on it?
  2. Been lurking here and there for a while but never really posted and still pretty new to matches but not really new to shooting. Like the insight this forum offers not just with regards to matches, but also with regards to gear selection, technical discussion, and general advice / banter. Hope to continue to learn here and actually shoot more matches soon.
  3. Even after lurking not sure if this should go under Shotgun - Technical OR Multi-gun gear & accessories, admins please move if needed. First, this is just to discuss the viability of the gear itself from a technical or physical aspect. Not "just use a rifle / pistol / whatever else", "no time to gear up", or any of the other (potentially very valid) rebuttals or topics, etc. Asking this because I want to see if any of this is even viable from a physical standpoint first before considering spending money on it to try at a defensive shotgun course to check practical viability. Also, let's assume the loading port is already slightly opened or otherwise big enough and any the user already knows how to reliably dual load (no quad loads for this application). Gun can be any common defensive semi-auto such as a 930, 1301, m4, etc. for the sake of the below. 1. Out of all of the possible shell carrier options I've seen (safariland, IP, taccom, carbon arms, kings, DAA, gunner solutions), it looks like the only one that would be viable for defensive dual loading or fast weak hand loading from a belt would be the Gunner Solutions EZ8 simply due to the additional security / retention. Has anyone found any others? Also, does Gunner Solutions ever have sales? 2. Would any of the smaller magnetic carriers, properly tightened and adjusted, be used in place of a velcro on shell carrier card on the right side of the stock for a right handed shooter or would the shells simply fall out under recoil? For example, the DAA carrier is just one long metal bar with the magnetic holders coming off of it - I've wondered if that or something very similar could be stuck on the right side of the stock instead of another shell carrier card on the right side or something like a speed feed stock for the 500 or 870. 3. Other interesting and reliable ways to carry or store shells for defensive shotgun use?
  4. Thanks to those of you who have PMd or replied with offers. Will reply soon. Does Tanfoglio not sell these?
  5. Where can one buy or get Stock 2 wood grips, specifically the non-checkered ones? After trying a few different grips, I actually prefer these the most but they also seem like a matter of when, not if, they will break. I don't see them on EAA or via a quick google search (not sure if these or other applicable forum classifieds are blocked from google or other search engines though). Also, from what I understand, Tanfoglio had silent/unannounced running changes to the large frame pistols frames for the Stock 2 hence why some aftermarket grips will fit one pistol better than another - does one need to specifically look for wood grips from pistols around the same production year as the pistol that needs the grips or are there different SKUs, etc. This texture in particular:
  6. Are the current Archon Type B pistols compatible with standard or MecGar 75B magazines? I've seen a few reports (<3) on different forums saying yes but nothing definitive and it wasn't very clear from the poster if they actually owned a Type B / tried it themselves. Or if reliable meant untuned 2011 magazines in an untuned 2011 reliable or factory Glock magazines in a factory Glock using FMJ ammo reliable (let's be serious - I suspect everyone who has one has it as a range toy... and there is a lot of variation in what is considered "reliable" for a range toy).
  7. Apologies in advance if there is a recent thread on this. Search did not yield anything. Anyways, for the newer SVI pistols (in any caliber) - the the MBX or SVI magazines generally more reliable with the least continuous modification and tuning if I do not make too many modifications to the gun and how it cycles and feeds ammo? Or is this going to be caliber, length, or other factor specific? (ex: maybe MBX magazines are better for 9mm, SVI magazines for 38 super, STI magazines only for such and such mag lengths, etc.).
  8. Given the general trend of 3 gun shotguns towards 26" barrels, could clay guns (particularly skeet and sporting clays guns) be adapted for 3 gun? From what I know, a lot of clay guns have extended tubes available and would still function with a lot of the mods made to 3 gun shotguns. I ask because I don't see a lot of guns crossing over aside from the M2 and Versamax. Granted, clay guns tend to cost more, but if you had an extra or old gun that you were already very familiar with, would this put you at any kind of a disadvantage?
