Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Funny thing. The NROI letter I got said I am supposed to use the January 2004 Handgun Edtion rules. But at the top of the test is says to use the 2008 rulebook. I will use the 2008 rulebook.
  2. How durable are these guns. Does anyone have one that has held up > 1.5 years?
  3. I have not seen these videos but I do have all the Matt Burkett videos and have the book from Brian Enos. I really like the burner series tapes from the following site. They are expensive but worth it because they cover every aspect of shooting. http://www.jerrybarnhart.com/
  4. Ran this is 6.72 seconds in limited, 58 points = 8.63 hf. I believe this is a 73%
  5. I would like to replace my STI Recoil master in the STI .40 cal Edge but I have a few questions. 1, I really like the way the gun handles and not wanting to change anything a lot what type of guide rod would you recommend steel or tungsten? 2. Does replacing the Recoil master mean that once it is replaced a special type of plug in required. 3. Do people normally use a plastic doughnut on the guide rod of these guns.
  6. After shooting a classifier today on the next stage I dqed because I broke the 180. My bad. Does the classifier score get scored as a zero and submitted. Does the classifier score not get submitted and counted as not shooting the classifier or does the classifier score get used? What rules. Page numbers please.,applies to this situation?
  7. If a small rifle primer is substititued for a small pistol primer does the powder charge need to be changed? By How much?
  8. Thanks...I ordered both 12.5# and 14# to try. I just purchased an STI Edge and heard that most people replace their RM. Do they fail frequently? How do I know if it a heavy or light? If it fails frequently what breaks in it? If I replace it with a Tungeston guide rod with a standard recoil spring does Sprinco have a replacement for it but there seems to be four different models. Which one do I order?
  9. Actually, I haven't seen anything on why not to make major with universal. I've since loaded up 170pf loads with universal, titegroup, and powerpistol. The Universal loads at 4.7 grains were virtually indistinguishable from the titegroup loads in any qualitative sense and 3/10ths under the starting load of 5.0 grains that Hodgson publishes. The load that blew up was only 0.12 grains over hodgson's published max. Of course the Bear Creeks are not exactly equivalent to the XTP hodgson published data for. I believe you mean Clays not Universal Clays. Clays has a faster burn rate than Universal Clays. Search the web site for other references guys !
  10. I believe you meant 1.170 to 1.2 for Major Limited/L-10 loads not 1.7 to 1.2 range.
  11. He said at the start of the post he only want Glock Loads. OAL 1.135 is about max for this. 1.190 rounds will not fit in the mag.
  12. 180gr master blaster , WSP, 1.135 OAL, VVN320 4.0 gr from a Jarvis Barrel in a G35, Velocity 916 fps. Just makes major.
  13. Even with a dye marker? Do barrels from the same manufacture general have tolerances this erratic? I have got myself into discussion similar to this before to find out the manufacturing standards are sometimes not very tight. One person would have a good experience with a product with the right dimensions while the other would be very close to the minimum tolerance and have a bad experience. One person would claim the other persons information was wrong while the other would claim his info was right. Turns out they were both right but the manufacturing tolerances were at fault. If this is the case then my apologies for what I perceived as incorrect information from some forum members.
  14. Is this Bullet out of round? Get someone in your shooting club to loan you a few Mntanna Golds. I am pretty sure if this is the problem I would have seen it since this is all I use. Have you cleaned your seating die out? If Montanna gold exhibit the same problem them I totally agree with HSMITH. If your shooting in a match its important to chamber check all of your bullets to prevent this happending in a match. Use this type of bullet for target practice. Most IPSC shooter load long because longer rounds usually will feed more relibabibly. Assuming of course that a barrel does not to be throated to do so. I load long for my Para 16-40 and have almost never had a misfeed. But it will shoot loads in which the OAL is 1.135, my Glock Load. If you find a length that works well leave it be.
