Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hi all - I currently load SIG brass for 9mm but thinking about making the switch to Starline. Anyone have experience with a similar switch? I've heard anecdotal evidence that Starline 9mm has (a lot) less case capacity than other headstamps but wondering if this is internet lore or real. Either way I plan to safely work up a load but wanted to see if anyone had similar first hand experience.
  2. Good to know. Any pet loadings/OAL's that work for you?
  3. Have you seen better performance in any sense (accuracy, ES/SD, etc) with a specific weight of bullet with N320?
  4. BTW - these are all Speer TMJ bullets that I'm working with
  5. Hi all - I have a couple pounds each of N320, N330 and N340. So far I've only really messed with N320 with 147gr's to make soft shooting loads but wondering how those powers would best pair with 115, 124 and 147's across the board?
  6. Has anyone experienced any uneven case mouth expansion on handgun cases with a Dillon 650? I recently polished my powder funnel with some brasso but did not remove any material from anywhere on the funnel itself. Although it may have been happening before I can now see (barely) and feel a difference on one side of the mouth of an expanded case vs the other.
  7. Thanks all, will check these suggestions out
  8. I'm curious as to where/what these shavings are from on my 650 shell plate. To me they look like brass shavings https://photos.app.goo.gl/GxYcuAV8h6n8Hr3N2 The only thing I've changed recently is to have my powder measure expand my 9mm cases a bit more so I didn't have to hold each bullet as I raised the ram.
  9. Hmmm, I don't recall ever adjusting it when it came out of the box so if thats the case then I'm definitely confused
  10. I recently setup a toolhead for loading 223 vs my standard 9mm setup on my 650. Everything seems to have been working well but last night I noticed my powder measure setup looks different on my 223 setup than my 9. See pics below. Did I do something wrong on the 223 setup or is this normal? 650 measure - https://photos.app.goo.gl/YZnVqgzqUQqzUTh32 9mm measure - https://photos.app.goo.gl/SnOhzQHUEsgA6meY2
  11. Thanks Lefty, anything I should be concerned about in terms of pressure?
  12. I'm doing some ladder testing with TAC in 308 from an AR10 (Windham SRC 308 - 16'5 barrel, 1/10 twist) and seeing something I didn't expect. I started working up from a the suggested starting charges and worked up to about only the mid-way point to the highest average charge from 3 different sources. It seems as though my POI started moving quite a bit lower as I got towards the middle end of the range. I started at 40gr of TAC with a 168gr Hornady BTHP and used 0.3gr increments in each load. Moving from about 40.8gr of TAC to 41.5gr moved the POI about 3-4 inches lower at 100 yards. I wasn't expecting this and not sure if its normal as all of the other charges leading up to 40.8 were pretty close in POA/POI. Only once 41gr was exceeded that the POI seemed to shift suddenly. Does this make sense to anyone? The cases didn't seem to have any significant pressure signs as best I could tell (although I am still a bit of a novice reloader)
  13. Thanks all, appreciate the advice. Might have more questions once I try it out but all set for now
  14. Does any one have good tools/techniques for manually charging cases on a Dillon 650? I will be using my RCBS Chargemaster to drop my charges so I'm wondering if I have to use a powder funnel for every charge or if I'm missing an easier way.
  15. I have a shed thats heated and insulated that I think would make a great reloading workshop. Should I be concerned about leaving my reloading press in both very hot and very cold environments when I'm not using it? Same goes for my reloading components.
