  1. Debating on switching from my OG shadow 2 to this. I want to get into the optics game but the Shadow 2 is the only pistol I have with such an oblique grip angle. Are these closer to a 1911/HK45?
  2. Interesting thanks for the info. Seems like Walther might be similar enough of a product with better aftermarket support. Especially with the PDP Steel Frame leak and tease. Shame, i'd love to unify under one striker gun, but I just can't warm up to the 320 and love the ergos of the HK/Walther guns.
  3. I want to do this but with my luck the SRO will be discontinued in 10 years and i'll have a funky extra cut out area beyond the normal footprint Decisions.
  4. I looked at my order and I payed about 500 shipped for this https://sigsauerwarehouse.com/sig-sauer-x-five-legion-x-change-kit-gray-9mm-5-barrel-17-rounds-for-p320/ Not sure why the sig store charges so much more for no frame now...
  5. They Sold these a couple years ago as well. I bought one. They were the darker x-five coloring, and came with a legion frame, and I think I paid 400. Accuracy is good on mine. I have not observed the accuracy issues some reported, and get fist sized 25 yard groups with 147 grain coated bullets.

    VP-9 questions

Floater, you might know this already, but it's almost easier to just use your strong hand middle finger to push the mag release down on the right hand side of the gun than to twist and use the thumb on the HKs I have tried. Cheers!
  7. Were they just late to game or are there kinks with the guns that put them at a lower tier than the Legions, Walthers, Glocks etc. Anyone here running a VP9 these days?

    That new TS2

Terrible logic. Ever met someone willing to take a .22 short to the chest? But yes, DVC is outdated and comes from a day when being able to shoot 10mm autos on the clock was a measure of your manhood, somehow.

    X5 Legion accuracy

Anybody done any accuracy testing on the x5 kits vs a full legion gun? The kits have the old black finish, and are devoid of legion markings.

    X5 Legion accuracy

Anyone tested the X5 conversion kit vs a full legion gun? The X5 kit I picked up this past year has the legion grip module, but is missing any legion markings on the slide. Have not benched the gun.
  11. My shadow 2 eats 147 ACME RN like candy. OAL 1.1 or less, 3.1-3.5g TG. I prefer them longer because why not, but short chambers and all. Honestly, shoot whatever floats your boat. As the others pointed out, on the clock it does not matter as much as your grip. I stock 147 bullets because i'm an NFA junky and I shoot with a suppressor mostly.

    That new TS2

The future isn't .40 outside the sport, so I'm going out on a limb and say that the future isn't .40 inside the sport. Sure, the veterens/whales of the sport have their money in .40s, but they will retire from matches or slow down someday, their guns will get old, and the prevailing market for handguns (9mm) will win over. Why? Because the new shooters have 9mms, and when the USPSA guys are not shooting major scoring, they too are shooting 9mms most of the time. Carry optics is popular because it's the only division where 9mm get to play with high round counts (unless you count open... and we know why that's prohibitive). The fact that this topic keeps popping up just shows how much the tide is changing. I think the sport will only get hamstringed by resisting the market forces at play. 9's outsell all else.
  13. Hey all, I think my shadow 2 is skipping picking up rounds.. I think the issue is occurring after reloads (not 100 percent sure I remember that correctly), which, I'm doing 3 or 4 times a stage in production division. It happened on 2/4 stages today. Could it be... I'm somehow not seating my mags all the way after a reload? Slide outrunning the mag? My load is 3.4 grains of TG under a 147 grain bullet, I believe. May have done 3.1 this go around, can't recall without my notes. Third option, I just suck at reloading ammunition and something about my reloads isn't playing nice with the Shadow 2.
  14. Two questions: Are you allowed to retrieve equipment during a stage that is not on your belt? (assuming the rod was not on the belt) Who brings a rod for clearing cases on a stage? I'm wondering what kind of brass they are using and what loads...
  15. I can't imagine making a shadow 2 any heavier. It's already a good compromise between recoil management and target transitions. I guess some people enjoy nose heavy guns and high swing weights.
  16. Any powder out there that is similar in price, cleaner, cooler and just as quiet (or close) with a can? I use clays for .45 and like it quite a bit. willing to pay a cent or two more a round for a better, smoother/cleaner shooting experience. I have a couple of bottles of HS6 I never used, but I'm not sure about that for 147 grain.
  17. That's fair, and you are probably right that the transition would not be smooth. I think there is a reality the sport will have to face someday. .40 sales go down, new shooters to the sport won't own or want to invest in new reloading calibers/guns for the divisions that require .40 to compete. Multi gun making minor the standard was progressive and ahead of the curve IMO. I think this boils down to a question: Is carry optics popular because of the optics, or because you can load up your 9mm magazines and have fun without losing out to .40s. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the sport is aging, as possibly evidenced by the lack of young, new shooters to divisions like SS.
  18. IDK, just spitballing. Seems like you could change the zone sizes to give slightly more leeway to minor hits. Hell, hire a statistician, run some test matches and get both of them trading blows.
  19. That statement seems to run afoul of the current divisions separating SAO and DA/SA etc. Seems like the statments on power are a bit outdated, but that's neither here nor there, I suppose. I guess that was written when .45 was king and 9's were European toys.
  20. It seems to me that if the intent of minor vs major scoring was to even out the recoil/capacity disadvantage of larger calibers, the final scoring should reflect that both minor and major trade blows. Anything else suggests that either better shooters never try minor, or that major has an uneven advantage that has not been properly compensated for with the scoring rules. The logical solution would be to balance the two until the outcomes are more even. There seems to be a lot of friction from the .40 crowd, and I suspect that they fear losing the competitive advantage since they are invested in the caliber with guns and reloading supplies. I think this is at odds with reality of the gun world, .40 is dying outside (by sheer volume of guns sold), new shooters, or even many veterans prefer 9mm across the board for various reasons. The original intent of major vs minor was to balance .45 vs 9mm? Unless I'm wrong. The .40 seems much closer to 9, and the .45 seems left in the dust anyway. So what did the minor vs major rule accomplish? Single stack, as far as my understanding goes, has much more parity between the .45 and 9mm.
  21. I was under the impression that Bruce from grey guns said removing the pre-travel with the new P320 drop safety was not a good idea. Am I remembering that incorrectly?
  22. Any chance the difference in the slide cuts/geometry could explain the mush in one (along with differing resets set screw adjustment tolerance)? One is an upgraded 2016 slide.
  23. Is there anyway to get a more positive reset? I'd drop in a grey guns kit, but the warnings about "range use only" have me cautious.
